Story
No one is quite sure what mix I am, but one thing is certain—I look just like a big, lovable teddy bear. That's how I got my name! Life is pretty great if you ask me. I'm the kind of dog who's always happy, whether we're heading out for a walk, hanging out in the yard, or snuggling on the couch. I have a bouncy little trot that makes it look like I'm dancing through life, and honestly... that's pretty accurate. I'm just happy to be here! I get along well with other dogs. More than anything, I love being around my people. If you're looking for a dog who thinks cuddles are one of life's greatest joys, I'm your guy. I'm ready to bring smiles, laughs, and lots of love to a family of my own. If you're looking for a best friend who is equal parts playful, affectionate, and goofy, I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Doug is around 1 year old and full of life. Since he came to us as a found dog, we don’t know much about his past—but what we do know is that this boy absolutely lives for playtime. He has big puppy energy and sometimes isn’t quite sure what to do with all of it! Doug does great with other dogs and would love a home with playful pup pals to help him burn off that energy. Doug is already housetrained and has a wonderful foundation to build on. He would benefit from some continued training and a patient, understanding family while he’s learning. The good news? Doug adores people and is eager to please, which makes him a great candidate for training and bonding. With love, structure, and lots of play, Doug is going to be an amazing companion.

Story
Detective Ross is on the case — and his next mystery is finding a family of his very own! 🔎 Ross is a curious hound with a nose that never quits. Whether he’s investigating the grass, flowers, interesting scents on the ground, or whatever you happen to be holding, Ross approaches life with quiet curiosity and a gentle spirit. While many hounds are known for being vocal, Ross has been a calmer, more laid-back boy during his time with us. On the smaller side for a hound, Ross is the perfect travel-sized companion. He walks wonderfully on a leash, is easy to harness up, and would make an excellent adventure buddy for road trips, walks, or exploring new places together. Ross also doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs or cats here at Converse County Animal Shelter, making him a great candidate for many different types of homes. There’s just one case left for Detective Ross to solve: who will be his forever family? Could you be the one to help him close the file and head home for good?

Story
Shiloh's journey hasn't been an easy one, but this adorable boy is now healed, healthy, and ready to find his forever family! When Shiloh first arrived at the shelter, he weighed a frightening 22 pounds. He needed emergency surgery, called an enterotomy, to remove something that didn't belong in his intestines. Thankfully, we could tell almost immediately that Shiloh was feeling better after surgery! With a strict diet, plenty of care, and lots of love, he has made an incredible recovery. Today, Shiloh is a healthy 33 pounds and ready to start the next chapter of his life. We are incredibly grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for providing the funds to cover his surgery through their Emergency Medical Grant. While we will always make sure an animal gets the care they need, emergency medical expenses can be impossible to plan for. This grant gave us peace of mind and allowed us to focus on what mattered most: helping Shiloh get better. Now, Shiloh's next chapter needs to be written by you! This handsome pup loves other dogs and kids and is ready for a family who can keep up with his puppy energy. He would thrive in an active home where he can go on walks, explore, play, and join his people on all kinds of adventures. Shiloh has come such a long way, and he can't wait to meet the family who will love him for the rest of his life. Come meet this stunning boy and see if you're the perfect match!

Story
I may have the heart of a livestock guardian dog, but I've decided my favorite thing to protect is my people. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will always have your back, I just might be your perfect match. I'm a sweet, gentle girl who loves spending time with my family—especially kids! Whether we're hanging out in the yard or enjoying a quiet evening together, I'm happiest when I'm with my favorite humans. I also get along well with calm, non-assertive male dogs. I walk beautifully on a leash, but once I learn my boundaries and know where home is, I'm the kind of dog who naturally sticks close by. I'll let you know when someone arrives with a confident bark, but after that, I'm a pretty quiet and easygoing companion. Because I have strong guardian instincts, I do enjoy chasing small animals, so I'd be happiest in a home without cats or other small pets. Give me a yard to watch over, a family to love, and a place to call my own, and I'll gladly make it my mission to keep everyone safe.

Story
Diesel is 50% legs, 50% heart, and 100% good boy! At just under a year old, this long-legged youngster is ready to find a family who will take him along on all of life’s adventures. After all, he’s got all those legs for a reason! Diesel is an active, playful boy who would love a family that can keep up with his youthful energy. Whether it’s going for walks, exploring new places, playing, or simply hanging out with his people, Diesel wants to be part of the action. Having a doggy buddy to share his adventures with would make him an especially happy camper! He has done well with kids, cats, and other dogs in the past, making him a pretty versatile guy. Diesel is also very treat-motivated and will happily do just about anything for a snack. His one current challenge? Catching those treats in his mouth! But don’t worry—we’re working on it. Diesel is still young and has plenty to learn; he’s smart, enthusiastic, and ready to learn alongside his new family.
