Story
Hello! I am Comet! I am a working cat looking for my new home. I have likely lived the outdoor life for my entire life and I’ll be returning to that same lifestyle in your barn, storage shed, or other outdoor building. When you take me home, you may not see me after I’ve gotten adjusted, but I’ll be busily working away behind the scenes. If you have a rodent problem, we have your solution - adopt one of our working cats today! All of our working cats come altered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative and ready to work.Working cats are mousers that need to live outside of city limits in a barn or outdoor building. All they require are two square meals a day, fresh water and future veterinary care. Due to their behavior, these cats are not suited for normal adoption as indoor pets. However, their love for the outdoors, need for a job and thirst for adventure will ensure your barn or shed will stay pest free for years to come!

Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I got Sketch about 5 years ago from a craigslist ad when he was 10. Sketch is now 14, almost 15, and he is a very very sweet boy. He is just old and has decided he does not like sharing attention with the other cats in the house. I think he would thrive in a home where he can get lots of attention and be the only cat. He would also love a set up that is perfect for old boys, with a litter box that is easily accessible and a low stress environment. Living with me and other cats over the years, has caused some behavioral issues and I know it is not his fault. He just needs someone who has more time to make him happier and more comfortable as he ages. He is a shy boy, but has so much love to give. He is such a great cat, and I just want him to be able to thrive in his old age.

Story
This cat is recommended as a Barn Cat because we have observed that s/he appears to be unfamiliar and uncomfortable with people. We believe that this cat is accustomed to living, likely with other cats, in a protected outdoor environment and may enjoy living in a barn or other outbuilding. Because, upon adoption, the environment will be a new one for this cat, there is a specific five-week acclimation process to help this cat remain safe in his new home. We recommend adopting another cat for companionship during and after this acclimation process. In time, this cat may even warm up to new people and may later enjoy time and attention.
