Story
New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. We would prefer to have her in a Foster-To-Adopt situation for an approved applicant. All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Meet Lunar, a gorgeous girl who is absolutely out of this world! Lunar orbits, zooms, and rockets around like a shooting star. This cosmic kitty is looking for a home that can provide plenty of interactive playtime, high-perch space stations, and daily energy outlets to keep her from going into orbit. HSBV is recommending Lunar`s new home be child free or with children over the age of 10 who understand when she`s in `maximum overdrive` mode.

Story
I found ginger at a shelter when I freshly bought my first apartment, he is about 5 years old now. I’m looking for a home that can give him all the cuddles and love he deserves. He is a very shy guy at first but with a few days of warming up to he’s the sweetest cat. He’s very friendly with my toddler and loves all the pets and food he can get. He also has a sister that I’m wanting him to be homed with.

Story
Ripley is about 9 years old. She was rescued from a shelter in Riverside County California. She has never gotten along well with other animals. Just the sight of another cat will cause her to start growling. She is ok with dogs that leave her alone. I think she would do well in a house that has no other pets. She likes to lay next to a human and be pet, play with toys, and loves catnip. She does not like to be picked up so giving her care has been difficult.

Story
This cat is recommended as a Barn Cat because we have observed that s/he appears to be unfamiliar and uncomfortable with people. We believe that this cat is accustomed to living, likely with other cats, in a protected outdoor environment and may enjoy living in a barn or other outbuilding. Because, upon adoption, the environment will be a new one for this cat, there is a specific five-week acclimation process to help this cat remain safe in his new home. We recommend adopting another cat for companionship during and after this acclimation process. In time, this cat may even warm up to new people and may later enjoy time and attention.
