Story
New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. We would prefer to have her in a Foster-To-Adopt situation for an approved applicant. All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Sweet kitty looking for a loving home, preferably one with safe outdoor access during warmer months. She doesn't like other cats. She’s almost 8; just looking for a better/ more relaxed home situation that can offer love and peaceful space to roam. Excellent house manners. Sweet, smart kitty. Request she be returned if not a good fit. Tons of playful personality if she feels safe and she responds to her name. She actually acts a lot like a dog because she’s been around them her entire life. Very small size

Story
Olive is a sweet, spunky 7-year-old with soft, fluffy black fur and stunning green eyes. A staff favorite and proud member of our Lonely Hearts Club, she’s playful, energetic, and just a little mischievous (Okay maybe she's a bit more than a little bit... But who doesn't love mischief?)! Though she had a rough start in life, she’s now full of personality and ready for a home of her own. Olive is not a fan of other cats or dogs and would thrive best in a home with no small children, we recommend 10 and up for Olive. Olive is diabetic and requires twice-daily insulin, special food, and regular glucose monitoring. While she can be a bit selective with new people, once she warms up, she’s full of love, headbutts, and kisses. Come say hello—you might be just who she’s been waiting for!

Story
Francis (10) is bonded to Sage (5) These two need to stay together. They are so friendly, so sweet, and beautiful cats. They both love to be the center of attention and are playful with one another. Very funny cats. Francis has such a big personality, so goofy & so lovable. He loves to sleep in the sink, stay on alert for squirrels outside, & politely beg for food any time it’s around. We joke that he acts kind of like a dog. Francis gets a little bit of separation anxiety when not with people (cries by the door) so having him in a home where owner works from home or is around a lot would be best.

Story
Venus is the sweetest, especially to her familiar people, but she is a little bit of a diva who likes her own space too. She loves to cuddle and is very friendly. Loves to lick you and surprisingly loves being held like a baby. She is long hair, but I like to get her shaved 1-2x a year to help with shedding & ease of her own grooming in her senior years. She is 11 and is one of the best pets I’ve ever had. Very chill. It breaks my heart to even think of rehoming her, but is the best option for my life unfortunately. She has two siblings that are also being rehomed, but the other two cats are more bonded than she is with them. While she gets along with the other cats, she generally likes her own space and the others are stuck like glue. Keeping all three together would be great, but she would make a great solo pet too.
