Story
Please contact Kristin (cats@arrcolorado.org) for more information about this pet.  A very shy senior, Lily was abandoned by her family along with her sibling cats and human kids. A very sad story, Lily appeared to be very nervous and traumatized from her previous home. With a little TLC, the sweet girl has opened up and loves head scratches and treats. She also likes it when we baby-talk to her. A senior with a young heart, she would prefer a home where she can be the center of attention (only pet) and be the princess she deserves to be. Lily is estimated to be 11 years old. You can visit her at the Just Cats store in Denver or check out their Instagram @justcatsstore   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $150 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $150 for kittens (6 months & under)    $75 for cats (older than 6 months)    $35 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Finn is a kind a cuddly cat. He loves attention and affection and is friendly to all. He loves going outside for short bursts on a cat leash and rolling around in nature. He will always want to be by your side. He does exhibit behavioral issues when it comes to litterbox usage. We have been able to deal with this for the six years we have had Finn and made multiple attempts to resolve these issues through health-checks and even anxiety medication, but it has simply become too much to handle since having our first child. Finn would thrive in a home with owners who can give him the full attention he needs and deserves.

Story
Toby is probably one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. He’s very laid back, loves to play if there is catnip involved, and he’s great with kids, dogs, and other cats (after a warm up period). Once our first daughter was born, he became stressed. Then baby number 2 was born, and she has a genetic lunch condition (Cystic Fibrosis). Toby was forming crystals in his urethra causing him pain and difficulty urinating. We put him on prescription food which wasn’t enough help, and he eventually ended up having a major surgery to “reroute” his ah-hem… private parts. He is no longer at risk for a blockage but stress can cause inflammation and cause him to be in pain. He’s sometimes great at using his littler box, other times…not so much. When he pees on things it’s really bad for our daughters lungs… He’s also on Prozac for stress. We have tried everything to help this kitty and we are at a loss. We are hoping to find him a quiet home where he can get the cuddles and time he deserves ♥️

Story
Paddington Bear's favorite sandwich is marmalade, and your favorite cat will soon be Marmalade. Hello wonderful people, my name is Marmalade, an elder statesman ginger kitty who longs to find a human guardian with whom to spend the rest of my life. I am 15 years young and am told that I am one of the sweetest cats at the shelter. I will admit that I am not the gorgeous girl I once was, but that just means that more of my personality shines through. When you first see me, you will notice that I have been shaved in many places around my body, which gives me the look of someone who had their friends cut their hair before their elementary school photos, I wear my looks as a badge of honor as it helps remind me of my former guardian who lost the ability to care for me properly--including brushing me regularly to remove mats in my beautiful fur-- and as a result had to relinquish me. Far from feeling bitter about that, I feel lucky to have spent most of my life with the same loving person. Yes, I am very sad to not have that human in my life, but I am luckier than most to have felt that kind of love for so long. Like many senior cats, I am on an easy-to-find and feed renal diet as we cats tend not to like to drink enough water, but I am on no medications, so my care is really easy. In exchange for feeding me, brushing me, and tending to my litterbox, I will pamper you with lots of love. One of my favorite things in the world is curling up in human laps. Even people I just meet make wonderful chairs for me to relax on, and I will stay there for as long as they let me. I like to chat with people when they come by my apartment, and I get along with calm cats and dogs. The only thing I can think of that I don't like is being cooped up in my apartment. I like to stretch my legs, get lots of love from humans, and give love in return. I am looking for a human who loves older cats and wants to open their home for me to spend the rest of my life. Your kindness will be repaid in my warmest cuddles.Marmalade- slender senior with a shaved lower body (likely due to mats being removed) and beautiful orange short- medium hair in upper half. Sweet girl who plays like a kitten during her out of cage time - loves wand toys, laser toys and scratching pads. Marmalade is a female, which is quite unusual, since most orange cats are boys.

Story
Hello, my name is Mufasa, and I have a story to share. I'm an 8-year-old cat who has been on quite the journey. You see, I'm a lover of humans, attention, and cuddles. I thrive on the warmth of a gentle touch and the sound of a kind voice. But my heart also longs for adventure, both indoors and outdoors. I remember the day I first met my beloved human companions. They welcomed me into their home with open arms, showering me with love and care. They understood my need for affection and were always there to provide it. I spent my days basking in the sunlight streaming through the windows, But it was the moments spent snuggled up in their laps that I cherished the most. There's nothing quite like the feeling of being loved. They were my everything, my world. Life has a way of changing, and circumstances beyond our control sometimes force us to part ways. Dear reader, I find myself here, searching for a new home where I can continue my journey surrounded by love and warmth.
