Story
This cat is recommended as a Barn Cat because we have observed that s/he appears to be unfamiliar and uncomfortable with people. We believe that this cat is accustomed to living, likely with other cats, in a protected outdoor environment and may enjoy living in a barn or other outbuilding. Because, upon adoption, the environment will be a new one for this cat, there is a specific five-week acclimation process to help this cat remain safe in his new home. We recommend adopting another cat for companionship during and after this acclimation process. In time, this cat may even warm up to new people and may later enjoy time and attention.

Story
Beautiful, gentle Chelsea is a super sweet young mama—barely a year old herself—who lovingly raised her four baby girls with devotion far beyond her age. Now that her kittens are thriving and off on their own little adventures, Chelsea is ready to step into the spotlight and finally enjoy the easy, joyful life she deserves. Chelsea has the most soulful, expressive eyes and a warm, tender spirit. She loves to play, soak up pets, be brushed, follow her humans around, and enjoy all the cozy lounging spots she can find. Whether she’s chasing a toy, leaning in for affection, or curling up nearby to keep you company, she brings a sweet, calming presence to any home. With her kitten-raising days behind her, Chelsea is blossoming into her own personality—curious, affectionate, and eager to be someone’s cherished companion. She would thrive with humans who are ready to adore her, spoil her a little, and let her truly experience what it means to be a beloved family cat. ##2491922##

Story
Erie is a 3.5–4-year-old longhair female indoor cat. She is healthy, affectionate, and absolutely loves cuddling, belly rubs, lounging in a sunny window, playing, and (of course) long naps. She has such a soft, gentle side and truly bonds with her people. She has shown that she becomes stressed sharing space with another cat, and we truly believe she would relax and flourish without that tension. There will be a $100 adoption fee, which covers her recent blood panel, rabies vaccine, and her rehoming essentials — her favorite things, along with food, her current litter, and litter box. We love her so much and this decision hasn’t been easy. Our biggest hope is that she finds a calm, loving home where she can truly flourish. We are looking for: • An indoor-only home • No other cats or dogs • Someone patient and loving who wants a loyal companion Thank you for your interest 🤍

Story
New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. We would prefer to have her in a Foster-To-Adopt situation for an approved applicant. All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Meet Gravy! This darling cat has the fluffiest pantaloons and is an absolute lovebug! He is very playful and really enjoys playing with his sister, River. For that reason, HSBV is offering a 2-for-1 adoption deal for this duo! While it`s not required that they go home together, they very much enjoy one another`s company and would settle in to a new home much more quickly. Gravy and River lived with children in their previous home, and did quite well, but unfortunately were too rambunctious while playing and accidentally injured the 18-month-old child in the home. HSBV recommends that Gravy and River be adopted to a home that does not have children or has children over the age of 8. If you`re looking for a pair of cats that love to play AND love to snuggle, these grey beauties are a great match!
