Story
~Foster to Adopt~Hi friends, my name is Beau-the most handsome, dashing, and charming 15-year-old black cat you will ever meet.I have been to MaxFund twice. The first time was because my previous owner was moving into a memory care facility. I eventually found my new owner and thought things were going well, until one day I ended up here again. But, after several months I was lucky enough to find a loving foster home! Sadly, my fosters were unable to care for me long term so I am back at the shelter. Though, I am shy at first, I eventually warm up to people. I am very playful (for an old guy) and I never met a wand toy or laser that didn't instantly get my attention. My most recent foster mom carried me around like a clutch, which is funny because I didn't like to be picked up at the shelter. In fact, I really started to come out of my shell in my foster home. I even got along with the family dog!Every cat's wish is for a forever home with a forever family. Would you consider taking in a sweet old guy?

Story
Hello Friends! I'm Jackson, a beautiful orange and white short-haired guy with adorably long hears and mesmerizing green eyes! I kind of look like an orange Creamsicle??I am a sweet, easy-going boy who loves to be brushed and picked up, and I purr like a little motorboat. I lived very successfully with an energetic, talkative small dog. At the shelter, I have spent time around my cat buddy, Otter and we seem to get along just fine! So, if you want a gentle, easy-going boy, that's me! I'm 13 & ½ years young - plenty of healthy years left!

Story
Hello Friends, Gorgeous here and while I'm not one to brag, I kinda feel I live up to my name! I'm a medium-hair tuxedo gal with pretty, symmetrical markings and adorable white ear tufts. If you are looking for a loving, easy-going, sweet cat - that's me! I'm 14 years young-- still with plenty of life in me as you can see by my alert, green eyes and healthy appearance.I am diabetic but please don't let that deter you! I need twice/ daily insulin shots with a very small needle. This does not hurt me (easily goes into my scruff) and is given either right after I eat or while I'm eating. I make it easy because I'm very food motivated! Our vet staff will show you how to give insulin. In fact, one of my friends, who is 76 years old, easily gives insulin to her cat!Won't you please come by to meet me? I'll be waiting for you and thank meow!

Why hello humans! My name is Adara! I am a sweet gal, and though my body is a little older, my heart is young. I love to play and cuddle and would love to lay in the sun on a nice plush bed. I think I would do ok with another adult cat that is fine to leave me alone so I can do my own thing. I'm not sure how I feel about dogs but know I do ok with kids. If I sound like your cat then come on down and see me today!

Story
Please contact Kristin (cats@arrcolorado.org) for more information about this pet.  Mystique goes by Mija (Me-ha) which means daughter in Spanish.  Mija was adopted as a kitten (through ARR) and lived with her mom and sibling kitties until her mom passed away unexpectedly this winter.  She was a little confused and heartbroken when she arrived, but she has blossomed back into her happy, sassy self.   Mija has a playful side and a chill side.  She's an active 8 year old lady who loves attention (demands it at times).  Her favorite toys are mice, and toys she can carry and toss around. Mija is an excellent biscuit maker and takes orders daily.  Her happy place is on a lap while co-foster mom plays xbox.  She loves the pet channel on tv, and CAT TV.  Mija is a great companion kitty.   While she lived with other kitties, however, we've learned that she prefers to be an only cat and the center of attention.   She's an excellent climber and enjoys high places - perches, shelves, cat trees.  Give her a high spot where she can nap and she'll love you forever.  You'll never be lonely with Mija as she is a great conversationalist and protests if you close a door on her.  Mija is a great cuddler - on her terms.  This means you have to respect and learn her boundaries: for this reason families with teenagers will be considered, but not adopters with younger kids.  See more on IG @303.fosters.    Born in Puerto Rico in 2016.  Up to date on vaccines.  Full dental on April 19th - will be available to go home on the 21st. Mija is being fostered in Park Hill, Denver.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for kittens (6 months & under)    $125 for cats (older than 6 months)    $75 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Who are our Working Cats? Some cats are not social enough to live as indoor pets, and prefer an independent lifestyle. These cats have experience living outdoors and are proficient mousers. Since these kitties are happier and more successful outdoors, we put them to work in homes, farms, and businesses where they can do what they do best. All our blue collar kitties are spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, ear tipped, and fully vaccinated. Why hire a Working Cat? By hiring a blue collar kitty, you can avoid using toxic pesticides, save money on a pest control service, and provide a home to a cat in need. Adoption fees are waived for our Working Cats. Cats are also more effective than other methods of pest control because they act as a deterrent! If you are interested in adopting a Working Cat, please visit the shelter in person to start the process.

Story
Hermes and Hades are brothers and I would like to keep them together. I rescued them when they were kittens and are currently 5 or 6 years old. They are both very loving and a little bit of coach potatoes. Hades (orange) is more of a cuddler and lap cat. He likes to sleep in most days. Hermes (gray) is definitely more of stoic, he likes attention and love too, but he also likes to chill by himself and do his own thing. He's definitely more playful and active compared to Hades. I hoping to find them there new forever home together. I'm not charging any adopting fee because at the end of the day, the only thing I care about is that they're going to a loving home, with owners who will love them as much as I have, or more! They get along well with other cats and small dogs. Larger breeds of dogs seem to frighten them. They can be shy at first but warm up to pretty much everybody I've introduced them too.
