Story
April is a beautiful, sweet, talkative girl looking for her forever home. She was found lying by the side of the road and never reclaimed. She is very laid back and affectionate and would make a great companion. She is estimated to be about 7 and needs to be on a prescriptionl diet as she was found to have some kidney stones. They are not currently bothering her and she uses her litter box faithfully. Her foster mom says she loves to be brushed and purrs when being held. She really, really does not like other cats. Her adoption fee is WAIVED to an approved adopter. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and has received routine labwork. Please contact us via email to get an application emailed to you. Meetings are scheduled after the application is approved. Please email us to start the process.

Story
Hello! They call me Thumper. I am a medium hair grey kitten who is quite bashful. I will come by you at night and will accept petting but Im still working on trusting people. I am 8 months old.I've learned while being in my foster home that the other kitties come to my foster family for affection. I say to myself Oh, I wish I could do that too. I watch and watch and guess what? I have started to come around and be closer to people in the past week. One day I got so brave I hopped on my foster Moms lap when she was watching TV. They call that baby steps but for a shy girl like me it's like one giant step.Maybe my new family will be understanding on my shyness and can understand that time & patience for me to come to you. I know you'll have a lap waiting for me.I started my life living in the backyard of a wonderful Chicago family. They took great care of our mom when they realized she was going to have babies. They brought us inside to be born. Thankfully, we were born there not outside where we had no way of staying warm or finding food. They then called my foster family who sees this quite often; so many homeless kitties and they continued to take care of us in a safe, indoor environment. I love to play with my siblings and the other foster family cats. In the beginning I was not quite a lap kitty and Im a bit scared of people but if you are willing to work with me, Im sure I will build a trust with you.Ill tell some secrets my foster Mom learned about me to build my trust. Classical music calms down and I LOVE Made by Nacho treats, well really any treats get this girl motivated!Know what I also love? My sister Po. You might have seen the pictures of me cuddling with a white kitty. That's Po. She's braver than me and I hope when a family comes to meet me, they can also meet Po and we go to our forever home together. My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. If I get scared I might hide and run.I will get close to you during day if you have those treats nearby. Please consider adopting me with Po. That would be so nice if I could go with to my new home with one of my her as it will make the transition easier. You will fall in love with them instantly and we can be one big family! Thanks,ThumperThumper and Po are located in our foster home in Hanover Park. To meet Thumper and/or her siblings please complete an adoption application.https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-cat-adoption/Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
Portland is a BIG kitty boy who came into our shelter after being found as a stray outdoors. The finders kept him for a while before bringing him to us. When he arrived here, he was extremely overweight and was matted to the skin all over with wounds underneath his matting. Lucky for him, he came to the right place and we were able to removed all of his matting and get his wounds addressed. He is now available for adoption but is still on his weight loss journey so he can be as happy and healthy as he can be. His adoption fee is $70. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and felv/fiv negative. He would really like to go to his forever home soon. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov, or stop by during our open business hours to meet Portland.

Story
Meet Radish and Jicama, a delightful brother/sister pair.  These 2 are the complete package!  They are funny, playful and so much fun to be around.  Jicama is the male and he's the instigator of the group.  He's the one who likes to check out all the new toys first (sometimes pushing his sister out of the way to do it). Radish has no fear!  She loves things you normally don't associate with cats loving - the shower, the vaccum...  She loves them!  They are both full of so much personality and sass.  They have been such great houseguests at their foster home and they are now ready to go to a forever home of their own! Radish does need a diet of 100% wet food (as does her brother since she cannot have kibble). They are both enthusiastic eaters and will give their family years of love and snuggles.  You can check out www.facebook.com/kittenville.il where their foster mom has documented their time in foster care. There are more videos and photos posted of the cats posted there. Interested in meeting Radish & Jicama? All our cats are in foster homes as we do not have a facility where people can come and meet the cats at any time. The first step is to complete our online application at the link below. Once we have an approved application we can set up an appointment for you to meet them. Please copy/paste the link below into a browser window to get started. https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/cat-adoption-application Clicking the "Start your Inquiry" button is internal to Petfinder, and will only delay the process - please copy the link above to our application to start the process. The adoption fee of $300 for the pair includes spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/ required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new cat for your family. Although we make the best guess on the breed of our cats, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the cat. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! Thank you for wanting to adopt a Starfish Animal Rescue cat! Story
Mocha is ready to find her forever family, along with her friend Vee! She is a 2 year old BEAUTIFUL long haired torti (estimated birthday is 4/24/22) who came to us as an owner surrender. Mocha is a very sweet girl who is a little on the shy side. She loves to watch and observe for a while so will need a patient adopter to give her the space and time she needs. Once she builds trust with you, you'll have a friend for life. Her friend Vee helps boost her confidence and the two of them are the absolute best pair. They are bonded and need to be adopted together. She gets so excited for her wet canned food in the morning and will meow at you while you're preparing it. She has the softest thick fur and loves to get pets! Mocha has lived with dogs in her previous home so would be fine with a respectable canine friend! Welcome these two sweethearts into your home today! Are you ready to make Mocha part of your family? Apply to adopt here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms. Thank you!

Story
I'm a mature, floofy gray stunner of a girl. I am bunny soft and like a little brushing to help keep this coat beautiful. I'm okay being picked up in small doses but I really need to do some exploring, so don't hold me too long, please. I'm a little bit shy but if you approach me and give me head and chin rubs, I'll warm up quickly. I don't talk a lot but when I do, I'm a bit squeaky - I think it's darling and think you'll agree. I'm laid back often but holy smokes - when I play, it's like I'm young again! To get me going, you might want to pull a string under a towel and I'll start "mousing." After that, it's up for grabs - I'll jump, leap, roll around (especially if catnip is involved.) I'm ready to come home with you!
