Tootsie came to MHS after her owner passed away, and with no family able to take her in, a kind neighbor brought her to us so she could have the best chance at finding a loving home. Since arriving, Tootsie has been understandably shut down and is likely missing her person and the comfort of her familiar home. With time and gentle patience, her sweet nature really shines through—once she feels safe, she is a very loving girl who enjoys quiet companionship and soft affection.Tootsie arrived with some significant matting and overgrown nails, likely due to her previous circumstances, but she handled all of her grooming care beautifully. She allowed us to shave out her mats and trim even her embedded nails without issue, and she clearly enjoys being brushed by someone she trusts. Regular brushing and nail trims will help keep her comfortable going forward. Tootsie would do best in a calm, peaceful home with mellow pets and older children, where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy a gentle routine. With love and consistency, she will make a wonderful, devoted companion.
