Comet here, and I am a 5.5 year old dapper boy looking for a home for the Easter Bunny to visit me! I am a happy panther who enjoys spending time with my humans, especially when it involves playing! I love to play and would never turn down a catnip mousey. I am looking for a home full of love and extra special places to nap. I would prefer to be your one and only feline. My friends at Ten Lives have done so much for me, I am forever grateful. They even found this food that helps me feel great, which I will need to stay on to keep me healthy. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. Leo is a handsome, sweet, fluffy long long-haired male orange tiger. He was rescued from an over-population situation at a local barn. He will be a great indoor pet. He is approximately 3 to 4 years old. (born ~9/2020) Leo will be shy at first when meeting new people, but will soon seek out your lap for a few pets and brushes. He loves to be brushed and pampered, but his favorite is to receive treats. He is a great bird watcher and will lie in his favorite bed or on top of a cat tower, watching all the activity outside. He is a very fancy lounge kitty - he will sprawl out and air out his belly - it’s adorable! He is very playful and gets very excited about interactive toy play with a wand toy. He would do well as an only cat or with another cat and no young kids. Prior to a vet visit, Leo will require medications you can get from your vet to ease his anxiety. Leo will make a great addition to any family. All of our cats and kittens receive an exam, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped. Sylvester loves all humans and kitty friends and welcomes anyone who walks through the door. It takes him a few minutes to warm up to new people, but he enjoys any attention that comes his way. Sylvester would do best in a home that can provide him the attention that a diva deserves. Ideally, he would do best as a single cat or with another friendly cat and no young kids. Meet Cicada! This brown fuzzy bug is looking for a new home. Though we are not entirely sure of his past, you can make him sure of his future! He is a quiet, shy guy. With time we are positive he could be your cuddliest companion and sweetest friend. I love to be with my person, getting brushed and when I can trust you, belly rubs too. My mom got sick 5 months ago, and unfortunately my mom is going into a nursing home and is not coming home. I'm now with a really nice foster lady! My wish is to find a home for with someone who will love me as much as my mom does. I would prefer to be the one and only pampered pet in the household! I do love to eat and my foster mom says that my new family will need to keep me on a strict diet so I lose some weight and get back my girlish figure. It will also be healthier for me. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation.
