Story
Meet Judi, a beautiful 5-year-old long hair tabby. Like so many of the cats who find their way to us, Judi is taking her time adjusting to her new environment. New places can feel big and unfamiliar, but even in those quiet, cautious moments, her sweetness still shines through. What we do know is this: Judi loves her people deeply. Once she feels safe and comfortable, she loves with her whole heart, the kind of loyal, gentle love that makes every day a little brighter. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Town and Country Animal Rescue Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary. We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday!! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Story
Noir is a 1yearold beauty with a sleek, allblack coat and the brightest, most captivating eyes. He is absolutely gorgeous, the kind of cat who turns heads without even trying. When we first met him, Noir moved through the cattery like an elusive little shadow, exploring every corner with careful, quiet curiosity. He took his time, watched the world from a safe distance, and learned at his own pace. Now that he’s feeling more at home, we’re watching his fun, sweet personality shine through. Noir is showing us his playful side, his gentle affection, and that soft spark of trust that makes you fall in love with him. Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary. We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. Story
This is Bug, a senior sweetie.  He was taken in as a stray, so we're not sure of his age, but he is older.  He is extremely sweet and docile.  He's been around other cats - he was very calm and respectful of their space.  He did not show any aggressive behaviors.  Bug loves snuggles and pets.  He's very trusting of new people.  He always uses the litter box. Bug is super-super sweet and deserves to be with people who will love and care for him.  We're not completely sure of his prior situation, but it's clear he loves to soak up all the human attention he can get.  If you're looking for a friendly cat that is house trained and you have time to provide quality time for snuggles, Bug might be the one for you.   The perfect home for Bug would be with people who will give him lots of love.  He was malnourished when he was found, but he has gained some weight and seems to be at a healthy weight now.  Bug is currently getting ear drops for an ear infection.  He might need to have some dental work, so potential adopters should be aware of that.  Bug is FIV positive which means he has a weaker immune system.   The suggested adoption donation for Bug is $85, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Pixie is looking for a new place to call home.  She was born in May 2020, so if you're looking for a friendly cat that is past the kitten stage, Pixie might be your girl!  She’s still spunky, but enjoys to lounge and nap too.  Please help us find Pixie her furever home. The suggested adoption donation for Pixie is $85.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. Story
I am looking to rehome my precious little flame point, Reggie. He is 2 1/2 years old and spunky, lovey, and vocal. He has a great personality when our home is quiet enough for him to be comfortable. He has been having behavior issues and I am certain that it pertains to my dog. (I have a high-energy, 3yo German Shepherd who's energy levels stress him out.) He will pee (not spray) on any space my dog frequents which is mostly the couch. There are truly no other behaviors and he has a clean bill of health. Because of this, I request that he be in a calm home where there's not much hustle and bustle. That way his personality can truly shine. I don’t make this decision lightly at all and I genuinely think he will be happy in a less chaotic household. There in not enough space to share everything in a short summary, so please reach out with questions!
