Story
Meet Cookie — A Sassy Observer with a Soft Center Cookie is a shy, slightly cranky queen who—once she’s had time to settle in—reveals a sweet, gentle side to the people she trusts. She’s searching for a quiet, indoor-only, adults-only home where she can rule peacefully as the one and only pet.At first, Cookie prefers to keep her distance, often perched up high, carefully watching and judging everything (it’s a full-time job, after all). She’ll need lots of patience and extra time to adjust, but once she feels safe, she becomes a loyal, endearing companion with just the right amount of sass.Cookie’s Ideal Kingdom Includes:Plenty of cozy hiding and napping spotsCat trees, scratching posts, and window perches for top-tier surveillanceTons of toys, especially interactive and catnip-filled onesFavorite Things:Treats, wet food, catnip, quiet routines, and expertly judging humansIf you appreciate a cat with personality, boundaries, and a secretly soft heart, Cookie is ready to supervise your home—once she decides you’ve earned it.Behavior and personality assessment is based on information provided by previous owner(s) and/or observations in a shelter environment and may not accurately reflect the pet`s behavior in your home.

These brothers find comfort and confidence in each other, and their gentle bond is truly special. They do well with respectful teens who understand patience and boundaries. With a super slow introduction, they may be okay with other friendly, social cats, but no dogs please—they thrive best in a peaceful environment. Story
Sabrina is a beautiful dark gray long-haired beauty that was returned to HART when her owner could no longer care for her. Sabrina is a very happy, playful, friendly, and very smart kitty. She loves playing with the peacock feather and toys that are stringy and have a toy on the end. She loves to sit in the window and watch birds.Sabrina makes friends with male kitties very quickly and would benefit either by going home with a male kitty or have a male kitty at new adopter's home. She came in with Tony, who is also in her room at the shelter, but it is not required that they have to go together. Being the princess that she is she likes to be brushed which helps keep her fine hair in order. She is not a "lap" cat,but does like to be near her owner when working or watching tv.If Sabrina sounds like the kitty, you are looking for, please fill out the online application to get approved. Someone from HART will reach out to you to set up a time to come in an meet her. You will also be asked to meet with the Shy Angels coordinator to discuss Sabrina and how to make the introduction into your home.Go to our website, www.hartofme.org, to submit your online application today!***FKA = Formerly Known As

Story
Grey’s Angel Girl was surrendered to Critter Cavalry Rescue last November, rescued from a farm of many, many sick cats.  This 3 year old was one of the lucky ones.  Not terribly sick; nothing that a few different medications quickly cured.  Now inside, in the kitty room, Grey definitely felt “out-of-sorts” for the first few months.  She was difficult to even touch the first several weeks.  A lot of hissing and fussing, I knew she was just scared.  Slowly but surely, Grey came to realize she was in a safe spot.  All this lady needed was a little love and reassurance every day, that it was all okay.  “This soft bed is for me?  This cozy cubby is mine?”  It has been rewarding to watch her improve day after day.  Grey is about 90% there, and with a little extra TLC, she will reach 100% in no time. There is a sweetheart in there.  Do you secretly cheer for the under-dog?  Or under-cat, in this case?  She so wants her forever home!  To pass the time, Grey Girl plays well on her own and alone.  She likes to bat the ball on the triple tiered ball toy.  Or the feathered toy on the end of the wand.  Grey Girl enjoys playing with the one year old female in the kitty room.  They play tag up and down the cat tower.  It is short-lived, but at least she has learned to play with others.  She is friendly with the other cats in the kitty room, but I think Grey would blossom more if she is the only cat getting all the attention!  She has never known that, being “the only cat”.  Grey can barely contain herself when mom pulls out the rubber brush!  No matter where she is in the kitty room, she is next to me immediately.  She is soon a large lump of love.  You can brush her for hours, it seems.  It is great watching her roll over and relax.  Grey has mastered the art of napping.  Don’t we all wish we could nap like a cat?  Head scratches?  Grey cannot get enough of them.  And back scratches, too?  Show me more!  Can you embrace this lovely, diluted grey and tan tortie with those big green, beautiful eyes?  It is time for her to get selected.  It is time for her to find her forever home.  Are you here to save the day?  To save Grey?  Please email CCR at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you want to be her 'Saving Greyce'.  Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped.
