Story
Charlie & his brother Cadfael were born in the woods and were rescued when they were several months old. Charlie has a sweet disposition, but can be shy with strangers.  Charlie is definitely the "brave" one of the brothers and needs to be adopted with his brother Cadfael. Both are 8 yrs old as of 8/20/21). Charlie loves to play and will come running if you shake the cat treat bag! His fur was fluffy when he was small and outside in the cold weather, but his fur is definitely not long (but he has a fluffy tail).  Cadfael & Charlie were adopted as young adults, but weren't given enough time to acclimate to their new surroundings, since they had only been in a single home.  They would do best in a quiet home without young children.  Both brothers are good with other cats. Both boys have a sweet disposition and demand lap time of their foster mom.  While not terribly vocal, Charlie does like to "talk" to his foster mom! -- Cadfael is the strong silent type! Story
Cadfael & Charlie were born in the woods and were rescued when they were several months old. He is a loving and social cat in his foster home, but shy with strangers. Both are 8 yrs old as of 8/20/21. Cadfael is a large, all black cat with medium-long hair.  He needs small daily brushings to keep him looking his best (but he's not terribly fond of "spa" time!).  Both Cadfael and Charlie like ot play with toys -- either with you or on their own.  They swat small stuffed mice and plastic springs all over their house.   Cadfael & Charlie were adopted as young adults, but weren't given enough time to acclimate to their new surroundings, since they had only been in a single home.  They would do best in a quiet home without young children.  Both brothers are good with other cats. Cadfael needs to be adopted with his brother Charlie. He has always been a healthy and well behaved boy! Story
Mommacita is just over a year old.  This little girl welcomes other kitties and is great with kids ten years and older.  She has masted the art of chilling early in her young life.  Even though her tiny face screams of mischeif Mommacita is happy to be safe inside, preferably with treats and toys, and remains as happy as a clam.  This kitty does enjoy a little bit of exploring.  On her adventurous days she likes discovering cat trees to climb on, shelves to lounge, and nooks to burrow in. It is absolutely adorable. Mommacita is a wonderful companion cat- She enjoys the company of other cats and humans alike. She really is an advanced level snuggler.  She is more than ready for her forever home!    Our adoption application can be found here: http://catnetwork.org/adoption-application-and-fees/ Website: catnetwork.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCatNetworkSTL/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/catnetworkstl Instagram: @stlcatnetwork To learn more, please contact us at info@catnetwork.org or text/call the PURR line at 636-386-7877 (text preferred).May 1, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Lionel is a very sweet little boy. He has preliminary tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and will need to be retested in six (6) months. Cats with FIV can live with other cats as long as all animals in the home are fixed. Kittens under 6 months' adoption fee is $110. Adult cats over 6 months' adoption fee is $85. The adoption package on all of our cats includes all of their initial vetting (FVRCP Vaccine(s), Rabies Vaccine(unless deemed too small by vaccinating vet), spay/neuter, FIV/FELV testing (heartworm testing where applicable only available at certain clinics), and microchipping. Also included is age appropriate dewormer and flea/tick preventative. All cats come with a 7-day health guarantee (must be redeemed at Pet Station in Union, MO). We DO NOT allow our cats to be declawed or outside. FIV FACTS- What is FIV? FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. This virus compromises a cat's immune system, meaning it's easier for them to get sick and harder for them to fight off illness. It only affects cats (it can't be spread to people, dogs, or other types of pets). How do cats get FIV? FIV is spread through deep, penetrating bite wounds inflicted during serious fighting. It is not spread through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing. Kittens may test positive due to maternal antibodies (rather than infection), but they will almost certainly test negative after 6 months of age. Can FIV+ cats live with negative cats? Yes! As long as the cats get along and don't fight, there is very little risk of transmission. Spaying or neutering decreases the risk of fighting, and introducing cats slowly helps them get along. How long do FIV+ cats live? Studies show that most FIV+ cats live normal lifespans and remain healthy. This doesn't mean they will never get sick, but with proper care, chances of illness are greatly reduced. Oral issues are the most common, but not all FIV+ cats experience them. Do FIV+ cats require special care? They have the same basic needs as any other cat: high quality nutrition, a clean, stress-free, strictly indoor environment, regular veterinary visits (two times per year to monitor for illness), and lots of love. Please consider opening up your heart and home to an FIV+ cat!

Story
Meet Orville Redenbacher! Orville is FIV Positive, must be indoor only. He is a super sweet boy who loves to cuddle, climb around on you, and give little headbutts, purring nonstop. He will give eskimo kisses and rub his face on your face. He will reach his paw up through the crate and softly pet your cheek and pull your hand over to him. He has some scuffs from life on the streets. He was a stray who ran away at the sight of people for a very long time. Once rescued, he immediately became a love bug. He deserves a wonderful family who will give him the love and attention that he missed out on for years. If you are the lucky one to adopt him, he will make you SO happy. He loves treats and eggs. If you are standing up holding him, when you start to set him down, he will cling to you and put his head on your shoulder. He has not shown much interest in toys yet. His adorable personality will come out so much more when he has his own home where he can run around and just be himself. He has not bitten or intentionally scratched anyone, but he is working on not using claws so much while climbing around and clinging onto you; this will improve with more attention, freedom, and training.
