Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Carol was surrendered to Country Acres Rescue by her original owner who needed to move out of the country suddenly. Carol had been in this woman's home since she was a kitten; however, Carol was never spayed and there was another un-neutered cat living in the home as well. Carol came to CAR pregnant along with her 3-older kittens from a previous litter she had. Carol gave birth to 4-more kittens at CAR in February 2023. Carol is such a sweet and loving cat. She is great with kiddos and has been such an addition to our feline rescue family. Carol would be a great addition to anyone looking for another furbaby! Please call 636-227-1919 to find out how to give Carol the loving, forever home she deserves.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hermes is a sweet, affectionate, loving cat. He has lived with another cat most of his life, but is just fine as an only cat. Hermes has FHV (feline herpes in the eye) which can be contagious to other cats. He has lived with another cat that was also positive, and the consensus is that cats that have this can live with other cats that are negative, but I can't take that chance. He will need to be the only cat or live with other FHV+ cats, or negative cats you are ok taking the risk.

Story
Woody was found outside with a colony of stray cats. He came to us around 4-5 months of age; understandably, he was nervous and weary of people. We are working with him daily to socialize and rehabilitate him. Woody is warming up and trusting our staff and volunteers more and more with each day - his progress is so fun to watch. Woody needs a loving and forever home more than ever, please contact Country Acres Rescue to inquire more about Woody!

Story
Charlie & his brother Cadfael were born in the woods and were rescued when they were several months old. Charlie has a sweet disposition, but can be shy with strangers.  Charlie is definitely the "brave" one of the brothers and needs to be adopted with his brother Cadfael. Both are 8 yrs old as of 8/20/21). Charlie loves to play and will come running if you shake the cat treat bag! His fur was fluffy when he was small and outside in the cold weather, but his fur is definitely not long (but he has a fluffy tail).  Cadfael & Charlie were adopted as young adults, but weren't given enough time to acclimate to their new surroundings, since they had only been in a single home.  They would do best in a quiet home without young children.  Both brothers are good with other cats. Both boys have a sweet disposition and demand lap time of their foster mom.  While not terribly vocal, Charlie does like to "talk" to his foster mom! -- Cadfael is the strong silent type! Cadfael & Charlie were born in the woods and were rescued when they were several months old. He is a loving and social cat in his foster home, but shy with strangers. Both are 8 yrs old as of 8/20/21. Cadfael is a large, all black cat with medium-long hair.  He needs small daily brushings to keep him looking his best (but he's not terribly fond of "spa" time!).  Both Cadfael and Charlie like ot play with toys -- either with you or on their own.  They swat small stuffed mice and plastic springs all over their house.   Cadfael & Charlie were adopted as young adults, but weren't given enough time to acclimate to their new surroundings, since they had only been in a single home.  They would do best in a quiet home without young children.  Both brothers are good with other cats. Story
Brady (around 3 yrs old as of 11/1/22) was pulled from a feral colony because he is such a love bug! He was pulled with a female cat called Stella (also around 3 yrs old) and they are bonded and will need to be adopted together. They say opposites attract and that is so true in this case! Brady is outgoing and social and Stella is shy and reserved (but friendly and affectionate once she gets to know you). Brady is FIV+, but you know what, it is no big deal! FIV is a “cat only” disease and cannot be transmitted to humans under any circumstances. FIV+ housecats rarely show any symptoms of the disease and usually live long, happy lives. Brady is a social cat who loves human attention and loves to be petted (he will sometimes flop over dramatically because he loves it so much). He would do better in a home that does not have young children, as he seems to shy aware from too much noise. And as you can tell from his picture, he is an absolutely handsome gentleman. Brady and Stella cuddle with each other, play fight together, and groom each other. It is truly adorable!   Our adoption application can be found here: http://catnetwork.org/adoption-application-and-fees/ Website: catnetwork.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCatNetworkSTL/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/catnetworkstl Instagram: @stlcatnetwork To learn more, please contact us at info@catnetwork.org or text/call the PURR line at 636-386-7877 (text preferred).June 7, 2023, 12:06 am

Story
Pumpkin was the kitten of a feral calico who was seen occasionally in our neighborhood. When he was around 10 weeks old, it seems that Mama Calico put Baby Pumpkin in our garage one very cold January night. We took him in immediately to join our other cat and 2 dogs. He loved his time with our other cat Cookie, but never warmed up to the dogs. Cookie passed away 3 months ago and life for Pumpkin hasn't been the same. He is terrified of the dogs and their activity, and spends most of his time hiding until the house is perfectly quiet. When he feels safe, he loves nothing more than a warm lap. He loves to snuggle under blankets and throws. He is a solely indoor cat, but loves to watch the birds outside. Pumpkin deserves a quiet, loving home free from dogs and loud activity. He is such a sweet cat. He needs someone who will provide him the loving affection he craves and the forever home he deserves.

Story
Romeo's estimated DOB is: August, 2009. Looking for an experienced cat owner to be Romeo's special person.Romeo is a friendly and affectionate guy. He will follow you around from room to room and is very loving. He likes to be in your lap. He has the personality of a Turkish Angora and soft bunny hair. He is the kind of cat that does not hide when there are visitors and comes out to visit. However there are times when he can be kind of a DIVA and lash out when he is done with affection. So small children are not recommended. He is still very playful and loves toys that move, like mice on wheels, little fluff balls etc. He would love to have an owner that would allow him to sleep in bed with them and be on their lap a lot. Romeo lives with big, medium and little dogs, has lived with other cats in the past. He does have a tendency to pick on other cats depending on their personality. Romeo needs to eat wet food at least once a day. Currently he eats Fancy Feast Broths and dry food in the morning. At night he gets a half of a small can of wet food. Romeo tests positive for FIV. Please don't let his condition scare you away - FIV kitties can lead long, normal and healthy lives simply by being kept indoors, receiving good nutrition and care, and getting annual veterinarian check-ups – all things that every cat should receive. FIV is difficult to transfer to other cats and the primary transmission route is through a deep bite wound. It is not an airborne disease nor is it contagious through shared food dishes, litter boxes or grooming. You can learn more about the FIV virus by going to http://fivcats.com .Now that Romeo is becoming a senior kitty, he has had some health issues. However they are easily manageable and his foster Mom would be happy to discuss. If you have any questions or would like to meet this pet, please email contact@stlpetrescue.com. Information about the rescue and adoption process can also be found at stlpetrescue.com along with a full listing of our adoptable pets. Our adoption fees:Cats range from $150 to $175. Story
If you like older guys and If you are lookin for love, look no further. Boris is your guy. Boris came to us from a kill shelter. In his pictures at the shelter he looked awful. Coat was dull. He had no fur behind his ears because he scratched them constantly because he had hear mites. He was fixed, had a dental and has been on high protein food and he looks soooooo much better. This boy is the biggest love bug. It is hard to believe he lived outside. Loves to be in laps. Will let you hold him like a baby. He gives kisses and head nudges. He just wants to be loved and have a human of his own. He loves to play with toys and will do so sometimes all by himself. In checking him over on intake it was discovered that Boris has a heart murmur. He has had 2 heart ultrasounds and is on 2 medications. His medications are not expensive and he is super easy to pillBoris was definitely an outside tom cat. He fought a few fights over females in heat. Because of those fights and being un-neutered he tested positive for FIV, which means he carries the virus. But guess what? FIV IS NO BIG DEAL! FIV positive cats can live as long as negative cats and may never have any health issues. All we need is good food, regular vet visits, a clean environment, and lots of love! FIV positive cats can also live with negative cats as long as the household is stable and everyone gets along, which is definitely the case with me – I live with my FIV negative friends and we get along great! FIV is spread to other cats through deep, vicious bite wounds that are uncommon outside of intact tomcats (and I’m neutered!) Besides, I'm a lover, not a fighter! If interested in meeting Boris, send an email to contact@stlpetrescue.comIf you have any questions or would like to meet this pet, please email contact@stlpetrescue.com.
