Story
Mommacita is just over a year old.  This little girl welcomes other kitties and is great with kids ten years and older.  She has masted the art of chilling early in her young life.  Even though her tiny face screams of mischeif Mommacita is happy to be safe inside, preferably with treats and toys, and remains as happy as a clam.  This kitty does enjoy a little bit of exploring.  On her adventurous days she likes discovering cat trees to climb on, shelves to lounge, and nooks to burrow in. It is absolutely adorable. Mommacita is a wonderful companion cat- She enjoys the company of other cats and humans alike. She really is an advanced level snuggler.  She is more than ready for her forever home!    Our adoption application can be found here: http://catnetwork.org/adoption-application-and-fees/ Website: catnetwork.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCatNetworkSTL/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/catnetworkstl Instagram: @stlcatnetwork To learn more, please contact us at info@catnetwork.org or text/call the PURR line at 636-386-7877 (text preferred).May 19, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
Lionel is a very sweet little boy. He has preliminary tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and will need to be retested in six (6) months. Cats with FIV can live with other cats as long as all animals in the home are fixed. Kittens under 6 months' adoption fee is $110. Adult cats over 6 months' adoption fee is $85. The adoption package on all of our cats includes all of their initial vetting (FVRCP Vaccine(s), Rabies Vaccine(unless deemed too small by vaccinating vet), spay/neuter, FIV/FELV testing (heartworm testing where applicable only available at certain clinics), and microchipping. Also included is age appropriate dewormer and flea/tick preventative. All cats come with a 7-day health guarantee (must be redeemed at Pet Station in Union, MO). We DO NOT allow our cats to be declawed or outside. FIV FACTS- What is FIV? FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. This virus compromises a cat's immune system, meaning it's easier for them to get sick and harder for them to fight off illness. It only affects cats (it can't be spread to people, dogs, or other types of pets). How do cats get FIV? FIV is spread through deep, penetrating bite wounds inflicted during serious fighting. It is not spread through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing. Kittens may test positive due to maternal antibodies (rather than infection), but they will almost certainly test negative after 6 months of age. Can FIV+ cats live with negative cats? Yes! As long as the cats get along and don't fight, there is very little risk of transmission. Spaying or neutering decreases the risk of fighting, and introducing cats slowly helps them get along. How long do FIV+ cats live? Studies show that most FIV+ cats live normal lifespans and remain healthy. This doesn't mean they will never get sick, but with proper care, chances of illness are greatly reduced. Oral issues are the most common, but not all FIV+ cats experience them. Do FIV+ cats require special care? They have the same basic needs as any other cat: high quality nutrition, a clean, stress-free, strictly indoor environment, regular veterinary visits (two times per year to monitor for illness), and lots of love. Please consider opening up your heart and home to an FIV+ cat!
