ABOUT CHRISTMAS CHILI AND MISS KRAMPUS! Meet Christmas Chili and Miss Krampus, our pretty mamas! These two came to HAP at separate times, both strays with kittens in tow and both upset at being caged. After a few months of medication and socialization and not much progress, we decided to put the two ladies in a room together, as a last ditch effort. They immediately took to each other and have been inseperatable ever since! Now with each others support and comfort, they two have started to enjoy human attention a little more! Christmas Chili is the more outgoing of the two, she enjoys chirping and booping her human friends, once she gets used to them! Miss Krampus is more on the shy side, though she does enjoy playing with her human friends, as long as they keep their distance! *Christmas Chili and Miss Krampus both adore other cats! We don't recommend they go to a home with dogs or children.

Story
ABOUT BROTHER AND SISSY! Meet Brother and Sissy, our shy duo! These sweeties had been living in a outdoor cat colony, which one of our amazing fosters had been caring for. When our foster was leaving the area, she couldn't bear to leave their fates to chance, so she brought them to HAP! This has been a pretty big adjustment for the two and they are scared of most things, but they've started to get used to the pampered indoor life! Brother is the more people friendly of the two. With a little TLC, he opens right up, ready to get some love! Sissy is more standoffish, but just as lovable. She enjoys watching more than she does interacting, but she's not opposed to a people watching buddy! *Brother and Sissy get along with other cats, but we don't recommend dogs or children, as they are very shy. **If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
ABOUT PRINCESS! Meet Princess, a girl that lives up to her name! This pretty lady was brought in to HAP as a stray, so we don't know much about her past. We assume she had a home at one point, because she certainly knows how to enjoy the finer things in life! She demands to live a life of luxury, and who are we to give her any less? She loves yummy treats, cozy beds, and all the catnip her little paws can get a hold of! She enjoys being around people, but mostly just so they'll coo over how beautiful she is! She will allow touches on her terms and her terms alone, but when she does, she is very affectionate! *Princess hates other cats, so she must be the only one in a home. She warmed up to a dog in her foster home, but it took a while and much groveling on the dog's end. We don't recommend children. *If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. ABOUT GILBERT! Meet Gilbert, our handsome little weirdo! This funny guy was found as a stray, so we don't know why he is the way he is. We just know we love him! Gilbert is a little hot and cold at times, but he never means any harm! When he remembers that he enjoys attention, he's a big purr machine. He enjoys playing more than he likes anything else, he loves to play with a human friend or a kitty friend! *Gilbert gets along well with other cats, but he does need a second to warm up to them! We don't recommend dogs or children. **If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
Bruno may not be the most handsome guy but he is the sweetest guy! He looks a little beat up because he's been living on the streets poor guy, but he is so happy to be inside now and he is so lovable and gentle. We got him when we were helping someone spay and neuter a bunch of cats they were feeding. He had a wound on him, so we kept him inside to treat it and found how lovable he was and appreciative he was to be inside, so we kept him with the hopes of finding him a new permanent home. He has now been neutered, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated, and tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS. Give him a little more time inside where he could be properly taken care of and he will be as handsome as he is sweet!

Story
Per her foster- Moxie - This little lady is very well named. Moxie is a very brave kitty approaching strangers and humans with ease. She co-exists very easily with her foster siblings and understands their wants and dislikes without much conflict. Moxie is never far from her foster parents and while not exactly fond of laps or a lot of attention, she likes to be close at all times. A bed next to a desk or a warm cubby in a cat tree and she will relax and show her thanks with leg rubs and chatter. Moxie has very deep opinions on touch and handling. A few scratches on the head is often all she desires and she will let you know if she is over stimulated and needs a break from touch. Nearly all of Moxie is bravado and drama instead of actual physical conflict, but she can very clear about needing some hands off time. With more and more time and love in her foster home, she is learning that the word 'No' is not a bad thing, and she will still be loved and adored on her own terms as she desires. This has helped her relax a lot in foster care. Moxie is a very vocal cat and adores her wet food and treats. The morning breakfast is her favorite time for affection and play. Her foster mom loves her eyes which are green in the center and brown on the outside which accentuates her varied facial expressions as she goes about her day. Moxie would do best in a home with adults only and at least one experienced kitty owner who can understand her moods and body language. She is slow to trust her humans to touch her but food treats go a long way to build that bond - and once established Moxie is a precious lady that will keep her humans entertained with her chatter for hours. Moxie is also a very independent cat who does not require a lot of supervision or attention throughout the day. She would do well home alone for hours without issue and does not require attention at night time to go about her business leaving her foster family to sleep peacefully. Let this little tabby shine her little heart out and she will light up the days with her character.

Story
If your lap needs a kitty - 'JoJo' is more than happy to oblige! The smallest of her siblings, she never let it stop her from trying that much harder and applying herself that much more to reach the same cat beds and scratching posts. After leaving her mom to do big kitten things she found her biggest joy is snuggled in a human lap. She loves to snuggle! A blanket is acceptable, a cat bed with her siblings will do fine, but if there is a human's lap in her sites, that is where she wants to be. If a laptop or a tablet is in the way, no problem, she snuggles on shoulders too! Anything to stay in contact and purr her little heart out, that is her number one goal. Joanne doesn't seem to mind doing her own thing, but she does tend to cry for her siblings and seek out other cats when not napping in a lap, so she would be do better with another cat her age, or one that will accept her playful/loving nature. If you are interested in adopting Joanne or another one of our animals, please submit the application below and submit the $5 application fee.
