Story
Meet Bambi, a resilient young lady born in June 2021 who has already overcome some challenges in her early days. Initially a feral kitty, Bambi has made remarkable progress in transitioning to indoor life! Her foster caregiver notes that one of Bambi's major accomplishments has been learning to trust people. She now welcomes affection from humans and is gradually engaging more with the other resident felines. While she maintains an independent nature, Bambi has been observing positive interactions between her foster and the other pets, which has boosted her confidence and sense of security. Although she prefers to be near her foster rather than picked up, she has a special fondness for mealtime and treats. Described as gentle and already well-versed in litterbox etiquette, Bambi thrives in an environment where patience is valued - progress at her own pace is key! Additionally, she thrives in the company of other resident cats, as their presence has been instrumental in her acclimatization process. Notably, Bambi has formed a close bond with a new kitten in her foster home, displaying affection and nurturing behavior towards the little one. Stay tuned for updates as Bambi continues to flourish on her rescue journey! The suggested adoption donation for Bambi is $65. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1178358##

Meet Lucky, a Domestic Shorthair born approximately 4/2019. Lucky is a typical young cat who loves attention, regularly climbing and zooming around. He's very vocal and friendly and curious about new people. He likes to be close and pet, but doesn't love being held. He loves being brushed and plays with his toys often. Lucky is a very curious little guy, so it may be best to keep things out of reach, especially shoes. He also has accidents outside of his litter box from time to time, so he'll need a lot of patience and possibly re-training. Lucky wants to give you all of his attention, so give him a chance today! The suggested adoption donation for Lucky is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
He is prone to UTI’s if he eats anything but urinary tract health cat food. You can buy this cat food anywhere like Walmart or target and is no more expensive then other cat food. Ours dogs are free fed meami g there is always dog food out and it has been impossible to keep the cat from eating it. Which then every few months causing him to get a UTI. He needs to be where only his food is available for him to eat. He has his front declawed and is has been an inside cat all his life. He has had surgery to open his urethra so a UTI can’t crystallize and block him but we still have to treat the UTI every few months because he eats the dogs food. Other then trying to keep him out of that he is a great cat. we have another cat and three dogs he has grown up around with no issues

Story
Tiger came to us when his owner passed away unexpectedly. As one can imagine, losing your person like that is upsetting, to put it mildly.  This three year old boy was in mourning when he arrived and we are working with him to trust again. This petite 9 pound handsome boy has the largest eyes! He will accept petting and interaction with humans on his terms. You can usually find him walking the shelter keeping track of everyone Nothing happens in the shelter he doesn't know about! Tiger may do best as an only cat or with an assertive older cat as he sometimes thinks he is in charge. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.    Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws.   **We are currently operating by appointment only. If you would like to meet this pet, and are interested in adopting, please fill out an application here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/12536/generic After you have submitted an application and been approved, a Cat Team member will reach out to set up a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. Story
Tally (DOB 9/27/2013) is a gorgeous Bengal cat.  She is a little shy at first, but with patience and time, a dedicated owner will be able to earn her trust.  When that happens, she is a lovable and curious companion. She loves to snuggle in blankets, go for walks in her stroller, go for car rides (as long as she can see out the window) and play in water. She is declawed on all four paws. Tally has lived successfully with children, quiet dogs, and other cats.  Tally was originally diagnosed with UTI's and on a prescription food. However after her treatment for FIP, Tally has not had urinary issues and only requires her vet check-ups for the FIP diagnosis.  Tally was diagnosed with non-contagious FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis) October 2023 and was successfully treated. She will need to have continual health care, including annual bloodwork, to ensure she stays healthy. We encourage anyone interested in Tally to speak with their veterinarian about FIP.    Since Tally is a Bengal be sure to research the laws governing Bengal cats in your area. The suggested adoption donation for Tally is $100, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our rescued animals.  The adoptions for all of our pets will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person.
