Story
We adopted Mildred from a local family that had a litter of kittens in 2021 so she is 3.5 years old. We have two small children and are no longer able to give her the attention she deserves and needs. She is very playful and affectionate once she has warmed up to the person. She would probably be best suited for a couple or a single person home. She can get overwhelmed with new visitors giving her attention. We can provide litter, food, cat toys, automatic food dispenser and water bubbler if wanted.

Meet Caitlyn our beautiful sweet mama, still a youngster herself. She was stray along with her sibling sister Kris. They each had a litter of kittens and help each other care for them together! Caitlin loves to play with any kitty/cat so if you're looking adopted a pair she'd love to continue living with her sister Kris. Remember cats/kittens do best in pairs!  Once Caitlyn gets to know and trust you this little cutey will quickly come out of her shell and be playful. Then be ready for her to crawl into your lap and purr away. Soon she will then be asking for belly rubs and treats. She has been an amazing mama to her  kittens....very gentle, patient and loving but now it's her time for her own life full of love and safety.  Please apply today at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org to set up a meet or to get all your questions answered. All cats are up to date with vaccinations, altered and  Felv/FIV tested. All adopted cats MUST BE INSIDE ONLY!  DONATION ADOPTION FEE: $100 (If adopted as a pair we offer $25 off each cat).    PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! October 3, 2024, 2:28 pm

Meet  our stunning fun Mama Kris! She is still a youngster herself. She was stray along with her sibling sister Caitlyn. They each had a litter of kittens and help each other care for them! Kris is the more outgoing r of the two and would love to be adopted with her sister Caitlyn as they are definitely a bonded pair! We would consider splitting for the right family but cats and kittens do best in pairs and we have a ready made set for your family. Kris warms up quickly and will run up for pets and attention. She loves attention and cuddles and will happily share with her sister Caitlyn! She will meow for love and happily shows her love for food with her grumble purr while eating wet food. Kris is an amazing mama but when no longer occupied with her three babies she will love playing and having a life of her own! Please apply today at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org to set up a meet or to get all your questions answered. All cats are up to date with vaccinations, altered and Felv/FIV tested. Porsche is a young cat with a rough start. He and his brother were dumped on a porch in the rain. We are working to prove to him he is safe and will never be abandoned again. He has gotten so brave, he is accepting some pets and does not run when approached. He is looking for a patient home to let him continue to grow into the friendly cat we know he will become outside of the shelter environment. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Story
Leia is a beautiful 3-year-old girl solid grey lady! She is a super sweet lovie and is looking for a home with a warm lap to cuddle. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other cats in your home, they must all be up to date and spayed/neutered prior to application submission.  All members of the family must meet the pet.   Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out.  But we will coach you on alternative methods of managing cats with claws. *****We are currently operating by appointment only.  If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to email@townandcountryhumanesociety.org.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. ##1216618##

Quinsie is a 5 year old girl that came to us after her owner passed away. She hid in the home for quite some time before coming in. Initially her name was Quincy till we realized she was a girl! Her gorgeous shiney, black, medium coat is just asking for your fingers to run through. She had a severe mat that ripped her skin in the center of her back, but she doesn't let that wound slow her down! Story
Persephone is a beautiful cream-colored cat with one green eye and one blue eye. She is absolutely terrified of the shelter environment. She and her sister Styx originally came from a closed animal shelter in Kansas and were adopted together 4 years ago. Both girls were returned to us when their human moved in with a family full of allergies. After a few years in her previous home, she refused all human contact. She came to us seriously matted and angry. After a full haircut, she looks much better but is still terrified and scared. The shelter is not a good placement for her, but we are doing our best. She and her sister will need the most patience of any cat we have seen in quite some time.  The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.  Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. Ralph is a great cat. He is snuggly and playful when he gets comfortable, but he is a scaredy cat that will need time to adjust. We're having trouble with him peeing on the dog beds and any laundry left on the floor and our attempts to get this behavior to stop hasn't worked, so we are looking to re-home him. Maybe someone with more experience or fewer cats can correct this.

Oscar is such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and rub his face on yours. He enjoys laying on the back of the couch and resting his legs over your shoulder. I love him so much. Loki is about 3 yrs old. I took him in to help out a friend and Ive realized Im just not a cat person. Also I need to rehome him due to landlord permissions. No adoption fee as I need to rehome him ASAP. Loki loves to sleep, lay in Amazon boxes, and chill in his cat tree. He digs cat nip and scratch pads. He is looking for a home that will love him and treat him right. He loves people and I believe he used to live with other cats so he may enjoy siblings to play with.
