Story
Lilly had been surrendered as the previous owner did not have any time for her. She is 4 years old, tuxedo DSH. Lily is cautious and fearful of people. It was clear to us she had very little socialization. She gets along with other cats and is learning the ropes in our cattery - learning to trust a friendly human!  Kittens or cats CANNOT be declawed, unless deemed medically necessary.   We will gladly provide you with alternatives to this procedure.  Kittens do better with another kitten to play with.  This gives you a break and give them company when you’re not home.   The adoption fee is $125 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. They will determine if you and/or your family are a fit and if so, provide instructions for completing the application.    After you have submitted an application and been approved, we will setup a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. Applications are reviewed in order of receipt.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1291617##

Story
ADOPT PRISSY PANTS AND LIGHTFOOT! Prissy Pants and Lightfoot are a pair of sibling kitties hoping to get adopted together but would also be fine in a home with another cat. They are both sweet and accept pats from people they trust but they are very shy and need an understanding owner who is willing to let them blossom on their own time. Prissy is female and Lightfoot male; both are small tabby cats, approximately 3 years old, with adorable pink noses. Both are very cat friendly but would be fearful of a dog or kids, at least at first. We know their special home is out there! If you are willing to give these two (or one) a try, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/   Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1678398##

Story
Destiny is a very sweet, quiet, non-demanding, playful and gentle girl. She is  2 years old and has been waiting since January 2022 to find her forever home! She is currnetly in foster care and her family is enjoying her very much. What can foster mom say about this sweet girl?  It does take her just a bit to warm up to new people and new environments but then she can be your best friend! She typically likes to be in the same room as her people and she will often greet me when her foster mom arrives home. She loves to have her neck and chin scratched and full body strokes! She LOVES getting brushed also. She has great litter box habits and uses the vertical scratching posts on her cat tree like a champ! If you are looking for a cat who will get in your face and demand attention while you are working on the computer or intrude on a zoom call, or won't leave you alone while you are watching your favorite shows, she's not your girl.  She is repectfull of your space and time but does really appreciate affection and is ALWAYS up for a game of playing with her wand toys. She loves to climb up high, lounge and look out the window in the sunshine and take cat naps. She has a mostly silent meow and the sweetest little chirps and trills noises and her purr is almost always on. I haven't fostered a cat that has purred more than Destiny! She would acclimate best and thrive in a quieter home. She has lived with cats but would do best with a cat who respects her boundaries and idoesn't chase to play.  She would be really happy as an only kitty also. She is fostering with an older, blind dog who keeps to himself. Active dogs who got in her space or tried to play with her would not be a good fit.  Older children in the home would be good company for her but small kids would most likely make her nervous. Destiny has FIV which MAY cause her immune system to not work as well as she ages.  Studies show FIV cats live just as long as other cats.  Keeping FIV cats indoors, fed a good quality diet and annual vet checks ups (all cats should have this care) will help promote health.   Foster mom has two very healthy, active FIV cats and is happy to visit with potential adopters if any questions.  She was diagnosed with stomatitis (inflammation/sores in mouth) in March and subsequently, has had all but her lower canines removed. She has done really well, feels so much better and bounced back very quickly!  She loves her soft food and her lickable and soft treats.   This previous momma cat came to the rescue in Jan 2022 after being taken to a large, open intake shelter along with her sister and their kittens.  All were very lucky and went to rescues thankfully and now we hope it is Destiny's turn to finally find a forever home!  She is a very special, resiliant girl and she's hoping for a hero to adopt her to join a forever family to love. The adoption fee is $125 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, FIV/FELV test and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other cats in your home, they must all be up to date and spayed/neutered prior to application submission.  All members of the family must meet the pet.   Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out.  But we will coach you on alternative methods of managing cats with claws *****We are currently operating by appointment only.
