Story
The great news is cats are being adopted as fast as we can post.  Which also means fewer postings.  Follow us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/solascb We have cats available for adoption 24/7 at the PetsMart in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Exit 47 by Target. All SOLAS cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate shots , wormed, feluk/fiv tested and micro chipped prior to adoption.  We are a network of foster homes, we do not have a shelter, so the fur babies are also litter box trained and treated to make sure there are no fleas.  (We don't want that in our homes either!) Generally every Saturday, we have a SOLAS representative in the store from 11 - 3 to assist with adoptions.  Cash only as the PetsMart can not run SOLAS adoption fees through the register.   April 25, 2024, 10:04 am

Story
Hershey – Hershey is a pretty girl, small in stature, brown with black accents in her stripes, and a tell-tale remnant of orange from her father on her feet! She comes from a very loving home with siblings and cousins to play with. She is always around at dinner time and loves treats. Her personality is on the shy side. She is not a lap kitty and always looks for the exit when you approach. She doesn’t hide yet is wary of people. She plays very well with her family. She is about 4 months old. April 25, 2024, 10:04 am

Story
Please contact Dadie (Dadie.File@cox.net), (712) 323-6105 for more information about this pet.CJ is barely a year old. She has come a long way from the hissy, spitting kitten she was to grow into the tolerant, friendly cat she now is. She gets along with dogs (as long as she can look down at them from a cat tree) and has become a wrestling partner to Henny Penny. Like any other cat that started out living on the street, she is food motivated. Open a can of cat food and she will break the sound barrier racing to you.  CJ has exotic amber eyes and velvety gray fur.      April 25, 2024, 10:04 am

Please contact Dadie (Dadie.File@cox.net), (712) 323-6105 for more information about this pet.Meet Henny Penny. She is 1.5 years old. Henny gets along well with both dogs and cats. She’s not the kind of gal to sit for hours in your lap but she will follow you everywhere, much like a dog. Cooking dinner in the kitchen, Henny’s there too. Getting dressed in the bedroom, Henny’s there too. In the bathroom, Henny’s ready to assist. She’s either a busy body or an enthusiastic assistant, depending on your point of view. Once she gets settled in, Henny Penny becomes your devoted sidekick.  April 25, 2024, 10:04 am

Story
Larger than live lover! Introducing Lenny. The larger than life cat in oh so many ways. He's a middle-aged cat at nine years old and boy has he had a life! Lenny is roughly 27 lbs. Maybe a little less pounds now as we've had him on a diet and he's extremely tall, extremely long, and looks like he came from giant parents . I have questioned often if I had a Maine coon or a bobcat in my house lol He barely escaped being euthanized due to perceived arthritis. The the vet was kind enough give him an arthritis shot and call the rescue to see if any of us could help. Lenny has been with me for about 3 or 4 weeks now and he's an interesting cat for sure. The shot must work wonders because I don't see any signs of arthritis. He can jump on my counters with the rest of the cats, which is unfortunate when I'm trying to keep him out of the food! Lenny loves to eat. Haha Lenny is an alpha cat for sure. He needs to go to a home where there aren't other cats or the very minimum a submissive cat who will let him be the boss and in charge. He doesn't particular mind other cats but he demands to be the alpha and that doesn't always go over well when you have multiple kitties. He does have asthma although it seems to be mostly stress or exercise induced. He has both a maintenance inhaler and a rescue inhaler but since he's been with me we only had to use them sparingly. I don't think he would do well with young children because he only wants love on his terms. He's a little on the spicy side. But he does love to cuddle and loves to lay on top of you and purrrrrr. He has no idea he is as big as he is. As far as he's concerned, he's just an average house cat with a little bit of attitude. We absolutely adore Lenny but our foster situation does not allow for him to live his best life with the resident cats in the house. If you or someone you know it could be a wonderful home for Lenny , give me a holler! Btw he is 9 years old, neutered, up to date on shots and declawed (done by previous owner ). He will very likely need the arthritis shot on a 4 to 6 week basis and it does run around $140. And he'll of course me and his inhalers refilled at times.     Because of his medical needs, his adoption is half off!  Contact info@solaspetadoption.org for more information.  April 25, 2024, 10:04 am

Story
Bambi is a young girl (b. June 2021) who had a rough start to life. This little gal came to rescue as a feral kitty but has slowly gotten used to life inside! According to her foster, Bambi's biggest challenge has been learning to trust people. She says that Bambi is finally comfortable accepting affection from humans, and she is interacting with the resident cats more and more... She's an independent girl, and will likely maintain that streak for life, but she has watched her foster love on and play with the other resident pets and observing these positive interactions has helped her feel safe and grow more confident. She likes to sit close to her foster but isn't a fan of being picked up just yet, and she loves her food and treats! Bambi's foster says she is a gentle girl and litterbox trained. Bambi needs a future home that doesn't mind taking things slow... really slow! Bambi also needs to go to a home with another resident kitty because that's been key to getting this girl comfy. In her foster home, Bambi has inched toward trust by watching the other cats and their relationship with the humans in the home; it's easy to see that everyone's in good hands! Bambi's foster has recently taken in a small kitten, and Bambi is very close and affectionate with this baby. She'll let the little kitty snuggle up real close while she licks her face clean! We'll keep updating as Bambi continues her rescue journey. The suggested adoption donation for Bambi is $65. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1178358##
