Story
Gingersnap came to us with a very common and heartbreaking sad situation as a stray that landed in a kill shelter in Tennessee.   This beautiful girl was so terrified and despite that the shelter staff knew she  had a sweet spirit about her.   The shelter could have adopted her out because she is FIV positive.  Her way out alive was if she was to leave  with a reputable rescue that knew how to place cats like her.  She is very healthy and we have learned so much about cats living long and wonderful lives even with the FIV diagnosis.  She does not care for other cats and that is fine she cannot be around cats unless they are also FIV positive.   I'm sure she could adjust with another cat but she tends to just run away from them and she hisses and growls at dogs.  She would be a wonderful cat for a quiet home with a retired couple or empty nesters who have had all the young children fly the nest.  We do suggest a quiet home with no dogs  she loves to sleep in her little Kitty bed and enjoys a simple existence where she can receive human love and attention.   If you are interested in this sweet girl please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Charger and Challenger are two sweet brothers who came to us without socialization. They were small scared little kittens that were rescued from outside with no mother in sight.  Over the many months that we have had them, they have started to show their distinct personalities, with Charger being very affectionate “on his terms”  and Challenger enjoying his treats and food quite a lot. Charger is the more social of the boys and manages well with other dogs and cats. Challenger prefers a much quieter environment and both boys would see great success in a home without young children/noise/chaos, which is where they are being fostered now.  This foster mom says these boys are not lap cats yet, but she believes in a quieter environment Charger could become more outgoing. Both are food and resource driven but they haven't shown interest in plants or countertops. Off and on we've seen some territorial peeing but I think that would stop if there were less animals in their environment overall.  We have a new element coming to the current foster home…an elderly mother, and we feel this will not better their environment but it will complicate it.   If you are willing to help Critter Cavalry Rescue to foster them in an understanding cat home where they can blossom without so many young people distracting them, then we would love your help!   Or if you want to adopt these boys and help them continue their growth and journey to more normalcy, then please let us know!   Contact us at viviennejames@comcast.net if you are interested. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Hi friends !   We are Jacob and Joshua, two buds that love to hang out and get into mischief together, nothing bad just boy stuff. We are love bugs and love attention and we will ask for it too. We love to play and then just nap in the sun. There is one thing, Joshua is FIV+, Jacob is negative. We don’t care and we hope you won’t either. Buds are Buds for life and that is all we care about. We are both healthy and will live long lives together with good food and lots of love. We promise you double everything in life.  Won’t you consider us?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live. April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Meet kitty Armondo!!!  He and his litter mates did not have the best start in life.  Their mom was a member of a feral cat colony that lived in a ravine.  People were very concerned about the little family and were finally able to trap them all.  Mom was feral.  The babies were scared but nice.  It just took a little while for them to understand that people are nice and are trying to help them.  Mom was spayed and released and the babies went to a loving foster home.  They have now all been totally vetted and are ready for their forever homes.  Armondo is a sweet but shy 12 week old kitten.  He loves to play with his siblings Leo and Amschel.  They have the biggest time running and playing.  Armondo is a polydactyl/Hemmingway kitten.  He is unique in that he has 5 toes.  It looks like he has hands.  This sweet boy is a very good boy.  It took no time at all to litter box train him.  He would love to have a home with one of his brothers.  If not though he definitely needs a home with another kitten or young cat.  He has been through too much to not have a companion.  Armondo is a special boy with the tiniest of meows.  He will be an excellent companion and addition to your family.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Armondo is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)      April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Meet Barney the bunny. While Barney isnt actually a bunny ( shh dot tell her!) we have made her an honorary team bunny member. Barney has made it part of her daily routine to escape from our cat room and hang out in the rabbit room where she spends her afternoon rolling and lounging on the rugs. Barney also enjoys batting around toy mice and catching her string toys. Barney has quickly wiggled her way in to the volunteers hearts with her quirkiness and sassy personality. There is something about her that makes us smile and she is probably the cat with the most daily photo shares amongst our cat volunteers. Barney affection is on her terms. When she wants to cuddle she with jump on your lap and enjoy some head pats. If she doesnt want attention a pat on the hand you will get. She especially loves to wind in between your feet. Barney would do ideal in a home with no other cats; and in an adult only home. She is tidy and clean in her litter box. Barney was found abandoned so we unfortunately dont know much about her past. We estimated her in her older adult to early seniors years. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv and microchipped. She also has had a dental and has had most of her teeth removed ( but she still requests a hard food only diet as she dislikes canned food)
