Story
CoCo is a 3-year-old tuxedo cat with a curious and playful personality. Weighing just 6 pounds, she enjoys exploring, interactive play, and activities like 'hunting' for treats or chasing toys. She is fully litter trained, follows a routine with three meals daily, and is very food-motivated, making bonding and playtime rewarding. As a sensitive cat, CoCo may take time to adjust to new environments and can be vocal when unsure or alone. She needs a calm, patient owner to help her settle. With reassurance, she becomes more confident. CoCo prefers a stable home with space to explore and regular interaction. She’s ideal for someone understanding that some cats need extra time but are worth it. If you’re patient and looking for a curious, playful companion, CoCo could be a great addition to your home.

Story
Meet Muffin — a gentle little sweetheart with a story as soft as her name. On a cold, snowy night, a tiny meow broke the silence. A frightened but hungry young cat was kneading the snow for comfort, gathering the courage to approach a bit of food that her finder offered her. No one ever came forward to claim her, but she was finally safe, vetted, and given the name that fits her perfectly: Muffin. Muffin is about 2–3 years old and incredibly sweet. She isn’t the biggest fan of being picked up just yet, but with patience and a loving home of her own, she may grow more comfortable over time. What she does love is making biscuits on her soft, fluffy bed and curling up inside her cozy shark hut where she feels secure. She would thrive in a quiet, calm home without small children, where she can settle in at her own pace. Muffin is also a bit of a door runner, so her new family will need to keep a close eye on entrances and exits. She has a healthy appetite, no known medical issues, and a heart full of love just waiting for the right person. Muffin is ready for a safe, gentle home where she’ll never have to be cold, scared, or alone again. All she wants is love — and a family to call her own. Story
Meet Yuri — a handsome 5 year old gentleman with a wonderfully sweet purrsonality. Yuri has had a few stops along the way, and through no fault of his own he’s looking once again for a place to call home. He’s hoping his next landing spot will finally be his forever one. Yuri is an easygoing, independent cat who enjoys a calm environment. He appreciates affection and loves spending time with his people, but he also values having a little space to himself when he’s in the mood to relax. He has lived with other cats and even a very small dog, and he did well as long as they respected his boundaries. Some of Yuri’s favorite things include catnip, feather toys, and lounging on high perches. A cat tree or a cozy elevated spot would make him very happy. He also benefits from having scratching posts available, as he enjoys using them to keep his claws busy. Loud noises like vacuums, traffic, or thunder can startle him, so a quieter home suits him best. His activity level is moderate—he enjoys playtime, climbing, and exploring, but he’s equally fond of curling up for a peaceful nap. Yuri recently had significant dental work and now has just a few teeth left. He does well on soft food, though he still enjoys nibbling on dry food too. Yuri’s ideal home is calm, predictable, and child free—somewhere he can feel safe, loved, and finally settled. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion with a big heart and a mellow spirit, Yuri may be the perfect match. Yuri is neutered, vaccinated, Fiv/Felv negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Yuri, please submit an application: https://1by1catrescue.org/adoption-application

Susie is a sweet, gentle girl who is bonded with her best friend Socks, and the two are looking for a home together. Susie has been making lovely progress in foster care and is becoming more playful and affectionate each day. She enjoys spending time with her people and will often come over for pets once she’s comfortable. Playtime is a favorite—especially with pom-pom toys—and she loves having cozy enrichment like her scratch tower and hiding tower to relax in. Susie does best with a calm, respectful approach and appreciates being given a little time to get to know new people. She warms up nicely with patience and positive interactions. She tolerates calm, small dogs and is content relaxing nearby once settled. Susie would thrive in a home that values a gentle bond and understands that relationships grow with time. With Socks by her side, she’s ready to continue blossoming into a loving, playful companion.

Story
This sweet 5-year-old tabby boy with the most endearing little head tilt is guaranteed to melt your heart the moment you see him. He’s an affectionate guy who loves gentle attention. His foster family adores his lopsided head tilt and snaggle-toothed smile, and say he especially loves getting pets on his big, handsome head! Bruno has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a developmental condition that affects coordination. The good news is that CH is not contagious, not painful, and cats with CH can live full, happy lives. While Bruno may be a little wobbly and occasionally take a tumble, he has learned to adapt to his unique way of moving and just needs a home willing to give him a little extra TLC. Like many sensitive souls, Bruno may be a little nervous at first, but with patience and kindness his loving personality shines through beautifully. He gets along well with the whole gang in his foster home—including four other adult cats—so he could be a great companion in a multi-cat household. Bruno is currently living in a foster home, so if you’d like to meet this charming, one-of-a-kind boy, please email us at adoption@berksarl.org to set up a time to visit him!

Bingo is a handsome grey gentleman with the most mesmerizing green eyes you’ve ever seen. One look into those bright emerald beauties, and you’ll be completely smitten. This sweet boy can be a little shy at first — new places and new faces make him want to take things slow. But beneath that quiet exterior is a loving heart just waiting for the right person to help him blossom. Bingo is looking for someone patient and kind who understands that the best relationships take a little time to grow.

Story
Meet Janice! Or Jannie June as I call her. We rescued Janice from under a neighbors porch about two years ago. She was super skinny and covered in ticks. We brought her into our small house with lots of kiddos and other cats, and tried our best to make her at home. But it just isn’t working. Janice loves a cuddle, to play with her humans, and she scampers right over to your lap as soon as you sit down. She will sleep right next to you all night long and smash her little face into your hands for pets. But she is a cat looking for calm. She doesn’t like other cats at all, I am assuming dogs as well but she has never met one. She loves to be central in the home and part of the goings on. Her quality of life in our house is very poor, she lives alone is a room by herself to keep the cat fights from happening. I’d love to see her living her best life in a pet free home with older kiddos or no kiddos. She will be your best buddy if you give her calm and her favorite pillow in a ray of sun.
