Blitzen is a 2-year-old, 60-pound curious and affectionate boy looking for his furever home! Blitzen was hit by a car in November 2022, resulting in a broken right leg. He’s healed up well according to the vets, but still walks with a limp and would do best with short walks and hikes. Thankfully, his leg doesn’t seem to slow him down when it comes to playing with other dogs, one of his favorite pastimes! Blitzen currently lives in foster with another dog and is FULL of love and happy puppy energy. He is eager to please and responds well to structure and consistency from his humans. He’s already crate and potty trained and is working on his leash skills. Blitzen has been through a lot and is ready for a permanent loving home. Have we got a Dutch treat for you! This silly, 16-month-old boy (as of July,2023), might have had a rough start to life, but man-oh-man is he ever making up for lost time! After spending a couple of months behind bars at the Devore Shelter, Dutch hitched a ride on The Rescue Train and has been making his foster mom laugh ever since. Dutch recently completed a training course at Corcha Balanced K9 and came through with flying colors! This boy is the physical embodiment of “everything, everywhere, all at once”! Are we going for a walk in the rain—yay! Are we playing chase with our canine foster sisters—yay! Are we going for a ride in the car-yay! Are we just gonna cuddle on the couch—well, you get the idea. There’s really not much that Dutch doesn’t enjoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious! Because of his working breed background and high intelligence, Dutch is a fast learner and very eager to please. We think he’d do best in an active home, where his zest for life will really shine. A canine companion would be great, but as long as he has doggy friends, it’s not a deal breaker. Scout, an 11 month old male Dutch Shepard, found his way into the hearts of The Lovejoy Foundation after being abandoned at the front gate. Despite a rocky start, Scout is now the picture of great health and exudes love for people. With a protective instinct and a penchant for forming bonds with family members of all sizes, Scout is not just a dog; he's a special companion waiting to make a lasting impact in a loving home. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. FOSTER/ADOPT STRONGHEART *courtesy post for the amazing staff who saved his life This 5 year old baby is a victim of abuse He was dropped off at Ohana veterinary clinic to be euthanized by his “owners”.  It was all admitted to the vet that the husband of the household was an abusive alcoholic and would come home and act aggressive toward him and the wife. He would kick this sweet boy repeatedly. The wife said that when her husband would beat her, Strongheart would try to protect her…leading to him getting the brunt of the husband’s rage.  Anytime the husband would go near him, he would kick him. She admitted all of this at the vet.  The husband insisted on having her bring him in to be euthanized but the staff over at Ohana refused to do so and instead they had the owners sign over rights to them. There’s no way this boy’s story can end here.  Humans who were supposed to protect and love him did the opposite.  This is what the staff at Ohana say about him“He’s the best boy in the world! Super obedient, loves walks, and affection. However, he’s had so much built up anxiety being in the cage and isn’t doing well in there. He started chewing on himself, constant crying, and is losing weight from depression.But can you blame him? He’s wondering why he’s in a cage now.” Let’s please find this boy a home or a foster immediately   ##1616169##

Tilly is about 1 1/2 years old and 40 pounds, she is on the smaller side for a shepherd but displays a lot of shepherd behaviors- loves her people, has a lot of soul in her eyes and loves to work!   Her name is Luna, she’s fixed, up to date with all of her shots, and is around 3-4 years old. Beginning of last year, some heartless person dumped her and her 9 newborn puppies in the freezing cold in Riverside. Thankfully, someone found her and I took her and her puppies in. After 3 months, I found all of the puppies amazing homes.  Luna is the most loving dog with people. She’s super independent when she’s home alone, she’s potty trained, very food motivated, loves giving kisses, and the majority of the time she’s keeping guard by the front door like the photo below. When Luna came to me, she was so skinny, her ribs were sticking out which is why I chose to foster her for a while to get her back to a healthy weight and to make sure she felt safe. I have fallen in love with her. It breaks my heart knowing I can’t keep her but unfortunately, she doesn’t get along with other dogs. I have a dog and cat that I’ve had to keep her separated from.  Please help me find the best home for her. I also Included some photos with her and her puppies because she was such a good Mama! ##1755241##
