Gunther is a very handsome, 6 year old German Shepherd. He loves to play fetch, and will even drop the toy at your feet and wait patiently for you to throw it again! He has had some basic training, and is a very smart boy. Gunther loves his people, and has done well previously living with kids! He was adopted out from us previously, in 2022, and came back through no fault of his own! While in their home he was always housebroken and respectful of boundaries and eager to greet visitors. Gunther is a striking, intelligent, athletic, and fiercely loving boy! He is very much a volunteer favorite around here, and he would love an active home where he can go on adventures with you and play lots and lots of fetch/frisbee! You’ll notice Gunther’s super cool, adventure goggles! He was diagnosed with pannus in August, an autoimmune disease that can cause cloudiness and vision loss if left untreated. Gunther will require lifelong eye drops, but has become a total pro about taking them! He will also need his goggles in order to go outside while keeping his eyes protected. His goggles don’t slow him down one bit – it’s quite amazing to watch him play fetch/frisbee. He hardly misses the ball, he leaps up and twirls in the air. Gunther has a very high drive, so he does need a home that can keep up with him. Plus when he has his goggles on, he can stick his head out of the window on car rides without irritation, which he loves! He is such a great traveler. When he isn’t playing, he is very affectionate. Zion is an absolute stunner of a dog, he is a 5 year old German Shepherd who turns heads everywhere he goes. He is a great dog that just needs a strong handler, familiar with the GSD breed. After about 3 years living in New Mexico, after being adopted from us in 2023, Zion had to return to the shelter through no fault of his own. Here at the shelter, he has made a lot of friends with our volunteers. They love to play fetch with him up in the yard! Zion is also a big lover of squeaky toys, the bigger the better!! He is so sweet with the people within his circle of friends here. Always rolling over for belly rubs, or leaning into them for booty scratches. This big guy also LOVES car rides! A little bit about Zion from his previous owner: He is a stunning German Shepard and a big boy weighing in around 100lbs and very strong. At home with people he trusts he is very chill, playful, friendly, and always happy for attention. His greatest joy in life is fetch and loves to carry his ball around with him. Zion has been formally trained with basic commands and behavior and responds to them excellently. He is always eager for learning, activity and engagement. He is kennel and muzzle trained. He can be slow to trust but once he does there is not a more loyal dog. Zion can be insecure, so he needs an owner he can look to for reassurance! Bowser found himself at the shelter because his family had a human baby, and no longer had the time to care for him. He is a sweet, playful boy who is a little confused on why he ended up here. Bowser is a great walker, and just absolutely loves playing fetch. He is a very smart boy and already knows a few commands like sit, down, and stay. He seems to be some sort of herding mix, maybe Aussie/Shepherd?? Bowser will need a dog savvy home who will give him the exercise and structure that he needs to be successful! We don't think he would be appropriate with young kids. Right now he would need to go home with kids 16 years or older, but would most likely do best in an adult only home. Bowser is a very sweet boy, he loves to cuddle up next to you and get belly rubs. He is dog friendly, and would probably do very well with another playful pup in the home! March 7, 2026, 9:20 pm
