Story
Meet Zara!  Breed Guess: Dutch Shepherd/Corgi MixAge: Young Adult...best guess is 2-3 years oldWeight: A very compact 23lbs  Other Animals: Zara wants to play with her fur foster but he isn't interested in playing with her and she respects his boundries.  She does give him kisses which he accepts from her.  We feel that she would probably do well with a doggy companion.  We were told that she was not reactive with cats and she doesn't try to chase squirrels or geese.Kids: She is very nervous when meeting strangers right now so feel that calm teens would be bestHouse training: She is totally fine but may need a little time to learn a new routine in a new homeExercise needs: Zara is a low to medum energy pup.  She LOVES going on walks and is good on leash. What she's great at: When she earns your trust, she is a great cuddler.  She is house broken and happy to be in her crate. What she's working on: Trusting new people.  Coming from a hoarding situation she didn't have exposure to much so she is learning that there is a big beautiful world out there.Personality: Zara is a sweet little girl.  She warmed up to her foster family very quickly but she is nervous when meeting new people.  She would prefer to come to you in her time frame.  She was recently at an event and, in a relatively short amount of time, she was started making friends with people as long as they ignored her and allowed her to approach them.  Zara's Story: She was found in a hoarding situation in Grand Cayman.  She lived with a foster family there for a short time until they were able to get her to us.  Dream Home: She would love a quiet home with a patient family that will give her time to come out of her shell.  We feel that another dog would help her feel more comfortable but also feel that she may be fine on her own.  Zara would love someone that will take her on walks and maybe eventually a hike!  She also loves to cuddle on her foster dad's lap so seems to be the best of all worlds! ##2009612##

Story
Kali is a very very interesting name... I was named after a Hindu goddess, like Mother Nature?? WOW, I need to cash in on this amazing name, right?? Nah, I hope that my name, which is kind of cute- GETS ME A HOME!! I mean, have you seen me? I am a brindly, gray/fawn GODDESS of love and soft fur :) I was tied to the fence at the rescue, with my friend Zeus Boy (he has been adopted already) one early Sunday morning. We were immediately taken in by the rescue, it was a very sad letter left with us on the fence.... we were very loved but our family had to move in with a parent and the parent's dogs were fighting us and hurting us :( So they did the best they could to find us a safe place to find great homes..... now I am the ONLY ONE LEFT to find that AMAZING HOME@!! I am a beautiful shepherd girl, my soft fur is so brindly and colorful you will gaze at me for hours :D I am a young gal, had heartworms and was already treated for it, so I am just ready to be YOURS :) ADOPT ME, must love and know Shepherds- I am a wonderful example of the breed. You will have the BEST friend for life!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Brynn is a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality. She ended up in rescue after being trapped by animal control. She’d been running loose in a neighborhood for nearly a month, with random people leaving out food. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She’s sweet, playful and oh so pretty! She’s good with other dogs but needs a home without cats. Brynn has interacted well with kids at previous events, but is not currently being fostered with any. Brynn is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Brynn is fostered in GA and will be attending our adoption event at the Durham Fairgrounds. Save time, fill out an Application to be preapproved to adopt at our event. Preapproved adopters may schedule appointments to meet dogs on Friday, May 17th. Our pets are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event to meet adopters. This silly girl is a talker and you'll understand how she got her name when you meet her. Monkey loves to run around and play outside and would do best with an active family that can give her the exercise she needs. She also loves to play in the water! Monkey can be a little wary of strangers but warms up quickly. She's currently being fostered with other dogs, but gets fed separately as she does not like sharing or being bothered while she's eating.

Story
*GERMAN SHEPHERD OR WORKING DOG EXPERIENCE ONLY* Meet our fun, young German Shepherd mix boy named Shadow! He is about 1 year old and he is a really friendly guy! Shadow came to us from a neglect situation and was surrendered to our shelter for proper care. Despite coming from this situation, Shadow is an outgoing and sweet boy who loves people! Shadow is very smart and already knows multiple commands. He likes to chase tennis balls around outside in our backyard. He is very food motivated. Shadow lived with another dog and has shown to be fine with dogs while at our shelter. Shadow is looking for his forever family who will never leave him wanting for anything again! Shadow is a bit grabby when it come to food and treats, but who can blame him after what he has been through?! Due to this, he can go to a home with children 12 years and older who have larger dog experience. Shadow is an active dog who will need to be provided with adequate exercise and stimulation to keep him happy. We are looking for an active family to adopt Shadow. If you are interested in adopting Shadow, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! Meriden Animal Control IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
