Story
Meet Kiwi, a beautiful 1-2 year old spayed female Dutch Shepherd mix!  Kiwi is the loving mama of the Fruit Litter (Fig, Cherry, and Guava) and, like a kiwifruit, she is sweet as can be!  She is a medium sized dog weighing about 40-45 lbs.  She is good with other dogs and all people, including kids.  She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. Kiwi is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She loves to hang with her foster dad watching TV and also loves to look out the window and watch the birds and people walking by.  She is currently being fostered in CT and she can't wait to meet you!  ##2004166##

**** Breed Experience or similar breed experience will only be considered***Name: HannahBreed: Dutch Shepherd MixAge: Under 2 years oldKids: 12+ Cats: NoDogs: NoHold onto your hearts, Hannah is hard not to fall in love with!! This beautiful girl came to MHS as a transfer from a local animal control partner. Hannah is estimated to be a little over a year old and has an equal amount of boundless energy as she has love to give!Hannah will require a home with Shepherd/Belgian Malinois, or similar breed experience. Hannah is extremely smart and loyal to her people, this girl knows all the basic commands, and then some! Hannah has a ton of energy so will require an active home that will give her a job to do to prevent boredom, and a home preferably with a fenced in yard so she can get all her energy out.Hannah does have a tendency to jump very high when she's excited and wants to say hello, so we are seeking a home with older, breed savvy children. Hannah would prefer a home without any other animals.Hannah is microchipped, UTD on her vaccinations, and is spayed. If you think you can give Hannah her forever home, please fill out an adoption application today!!!https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Drake is a handsome lad all decked out in black which is becoming of him! He is approx 3 years old and loves to run and play with his foster siblings. He will play with his doggie toys all day long and has such a great time. See the video below:) Drake is learning to walk on a leash and is learning his house manners. He is crate-trained and rides well in the car. We are not sure of his breed, but Dutch Sheperd and Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog seem fitting. He gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions. Go ahead and apply to adopt this sweet boy! He would love to be running/walking/jogging the trails this Spring with his new family or snuggling on the couch would suit him fine. Drake is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negtive for heartworms. Murphy is a 6mo male Dutch Shepherd mix who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  Good with other dogs and living comfortably with another dog in his foster home (see video).  Not yet cat tested. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older just because of his exuberance.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Crate trained and housebroken. Learning basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 40 pounds.  Murphy has an occasional limp L rear leg which vet attributes to an old, healed injury but it doesn’t impact his mobility at all. This is an AWESOME young shepherd mix will make a wonderful companion  for an active family who loves the breed. Story
Meet Chevelle, a sweet 7-8 month old spayed female malinois/GSD mix!  She weighs about 40 lbs and likely won't get too much bigger.  This lovely lady has a wonderful temperament and is great with other dogs (curently being fostered with many dogs)!  She is also good with cats, people, and kids (we suggest older kids 8+ due to energy level).  She walks well on leash, is housebroken, and crate trained.  Chevelle would do best in an active home and would love to have a doggo sibling to keep her company and help show her the ropes. From Chevelle's New England foster: "Chevelle arrived from TN knowing absolutely nothing - someone spent zero time with this dog.  She is a sweetheart who is constantly showing her teeth with a smile.  She likes to smack or chomp her teeth when she's excited (most adorable sound)!  She is very energetic, loves any attention, and would excel with training (super smart).  She will thrive with her own family.  She is a dog that needs attention and stimulation." If you think Chevelle might be a good fit for you, please submit an application today! ##1983446##

Story
I got this big ole baby from Lancaster Pennsylvania, straight off an Amish farm. He is 7 years old but acts just like the young puppy he was when I got him. I am looking for someone who has the time to take care of him, and give him the best life possible. He is protective of his land, but also a silly goofy big baby that just wants all the love and attention he can get ! He is everything you’d want in a purebred German shepherd, don’t let his age fool you he will run circles around you !
