Story
STRYKER - Young, Fun, and Energetic Yes, you will be thunderstruck with this amazingly athletic and fun dog. He is going to keep you entertained for hours and then just chill out at night, you will fall in love with Stryker. This handsome, playful and friendly Dutch Shepherd dog can’t wait to meet you and become best buddies. He loves to play and run around outside, getting a full head of steam playing fetch and stretching his legs. When inside, Stryker can play or learn to chill by your side while you do some work from home. Like any shepherd, this guy is smart and active. Get those tennis balls and tug toys out because he loves playing fetch or goofing off with just about any toy. Stryker is incredibly agile and fast. He enjoys brisk walks and being with people. Stryker gets very excited when meeting new dogs. Stryker has a girlfriend - Van. They love to run around and play hard. Stryker can sometimes be a little possessive of his ball when playing with other dogs, however, he has the potential to live with other active dogs. He was gentle and easy going when walking with our special girl Phoenix. Stryker is about 3 years old and close to 70 pounds. He is healthy with no underlying medical issues. As you can see from his pictures he is quite photogenic, but even pictures don’t do him full justice. You have to meet him to truly experience his joyous nature. Stryker has all the physical, intelligence, and active characteristics of a full Dutch Shepherd. If you are interested in finding out more about Stryker, please email us at contact@sedonashepherd.com. Stryker is also a candidate for our foster to adopt program, which allows a potential adopter the opportunity to foster Stryker for 3 weeks prior to committing to an adoption. We are requiring any potential adopter sign up for obedience training with Stryker. If you live in northern, central or western New Jersey, Canine Dimensions has graciously offered to provide up to 3 in home sessions at no cost. Preference will be given to owners with a fenced in yard. Based on his activity level, we are also looking for a home with older children. If you are interested, please fill out an adoption application. Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary's mission is to rescue adult and senior German Shepherd and Shepherd mixes and find them loving homes.  All of our dogs are fully vetted and up to date on all their shots Our adoption area includes New Jersey, Delaware Valley, Manhattan, Southern New York and Eastern Pennsylvania.  We may adopt to Connecticut depending on circumstances.  Please visit our website at www.sedonashepherd.com.  ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     4m old Belle from Arkansas. dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Story
Meet Nova! Nova means "new", and it perfectly describes our goofy, happy-go-lucky girl. After being stuck in the shelter for 15 months as part of a cruelty case, Nova is ready to have a new beginning! Nova has won the hearts of many shelter volunteers and staff because of her resilient bubbly personality. She is that dog who is always smiling and wagging her tail. A stranger is just a friend she hasn't met. She is a clown but also a house hippo who can be a total couch-potato. She likes to be in the "pack" either with people or dogs or preferably both. Nova is keenly observant, smart, and learns fast! She is attending doggie school to learn basic commands. She is also crate trained, house trained, and great on leash. Nova is currently in a foster home with three other dogs and is loving life. We want her to be just as happy in her new home. She loves people and dogs of all ages and size. Age: 3.5 year Weight: 65 lbs Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative, and on prevention. Temperament: Good with kids, good with other dogs, no cats or small animals Training: House-trained, crate-trained For questions about Nova, please email sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review

Story
Have we got a Dutch treat for you! This silly, 16-month-old boy (as of July, 2023), might have had a lonely start to life, but man-oh-man is he ever making up for lost time! After finding himself at the age of 6 months behind bars at the Devore animal shelter, Dutch was rescued and has been keeping his foster mom on her toes and laughing ever since. He is an active and playful Shepherd mix. Dutch recently completed an obedience training course at Corcha Balanced K9 and came through with flying colors! He knows all his commands and any adopter has the support and guidance of Corey and Cynthia, his trainers who think he is a rock star dog. This boy is the physical embodiment of “everything, everywhere, all at once”! Are we going for a walk in the rain—yay! Are we playing chase with our canine foster sisters—yay! Are we going for a ride in the car-yay! Are we just gonna cuddle on the couch—well, you get the idea. There’s really not much that Dutch doesn’t enjoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious! Because of his working breed background and high intelligence, Dutch is a fast learner and very eager to please. We think he’d do best in an active home with a good leader, where his zest for life will really shine. A canine companion would be great, but as long as he has doggy friends, it’s not a deal breaker. So whaddya say, wanna go Dutch? Dutch is fully vetted and very healthy. He is crate trained and potty trained.

Max is a sweet, healthy, purebred Dutch Shepherd. He is up to date with his shots. He is wonderful with kids and loves all humans, but gets anxious around unfamiliar dogs and cats. He loves running and belly rubs. Unfortunately we need to find a new, loving home for him because of a human owner health issue.

These pups are in Madison, New Jersey too!
