Story
STRYKER - Young, Fun, and Energetic If you are looking for a fun, energetic dog that is going to keep you entertained for hours and then just chill out at night, you will fall in love with Stryker. This handsome, playful and friendly Dutch Shepherd dog can’t wait to meet you and become best buddies. He loves to play and run around outside, getting a full head of steam playing fetch and stretching his legs. When inside, Stryker can play or learn to chill by your side while you do some work from home. Like any shepherd, this guy is smart and active. Get those tennis balls and tug toys out because he loves playing fetch or goofing off with just about any toy. Stryker is incredibly agile and fast. He enjoys brisk walks and being with people. On walks he can be a little too interested in other dogs and will give a high pitched whine or bark. He can get over aroused with other animals and try to be bossy in a play group setting. Although he might be able to make dog friends, he probably would be best suited for a home with no other dogs. Stryker is about 2.5 years old and close to 70 pounds. He is healthy with no underlying medical issues. As you can see from his pictures he is quite photogenic, but even pictures don’t do him full justice. You have to meet him to truly experience his joyous nature. While some of his colorations lend to him having a possible mixture of Australian Shepherd, in person he has all the physical and active characteristics of a full Dutch Shepherd. If you are interested in finding out more about Stryker, please email us at contact@sedonashepherd.com. Stryker is also a candidate for our foster to adopt program, which allows a potential adopter the opportunity to foster Stryker for 3 weeks prior to committing to an adoption. We are requiring any potential adopter sign up for obedience training with Stryker. If you live in northern, central or western New Jersey, Canine Dimensions has graciously offered to provide up to 3 in home sessions at no cost. Preference will be given to owners with a fenced in yard. Based on his activity level, we are also looking for a home with older children. If you are interested, please fill out an adoption application. Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary's mission is to rescue adult and senior German Shepherd and Shepherd mixes and find them loving homes.  All of our dogs are fully vetted and up to date on all their shots Our adoption area includes New Jersey, Delaware Valley, Manhattan, Southern New York and Eastern Pennsylvania.  We may adopt to Connecticut depending on circumstances.  Please visit our website at www.sedonashepherd.com. Story
We are posting this as a courtesy post for The Rescue Train. Dutch just graduated from a 3 week training program with Corcha Balanced K9. He is a dream dog. Super smart and knows how to listen and follow your lead. This goofy 12 month old boy was saved at 7 months old. There is really not much that Dutch does not enjoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious! Check out his video on this profile. He was on Kacey Montoya's Saturday morning news featured pets segment. He is a true star. Because of his working breed background and high intelligence we think he would do best in an active home, where his zest for life will really shine. A canine companion would be great, but as long as he has doggy friends to play with he doesn't have to live with another dog in the home. He is crate trained and potty trained. The rescue is located in Los Angeles, California but will consider out of state adoptions for the right family. A home visit will be part of the adoption process. If you are interested in meeting or applying for Dutch please email us at dscradopt@gmail.com so we can get you the proper application information AND set you up for success. Dutch has a wonderful personality and we want him to find his forever home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   VAN HALEN-Girl was transferred to GaDaH from a high kill shelter in Texas on 22nd April 2023. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      VAN HALEN-Girl is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 6 November 2022 and at the time of transport weighed 32 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. VAN HALEN-Girl is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.       This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,   treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.     Be sure to read all the information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. Story
Chico is STILL waiting to join his forever family - he's been at our shelter for OVER THREE MONTHS! This long-legged, long-nosed pup is too cute! He's got the sweetest eyes, and a goofy & playful personality to match. Chico has not yet met any young kids or cats, and he could potentially live with other dogs with proper introductions, but would also be very happy as your one and only soaking up ALL the attention! We think Chico will be around 40-45lb full grown. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to his breed mix - maybe some shepherd, maybe some hound -- but 100% perfect in our eyes regardless! This special guy is more than ready to find a home of his own! Ideally, he'd have a house with a yard rather than live in an apartment/condo setting. He loves to run & play, and would be a great walking buddy. Chico would really benefit from being in a foster home instead of waiting for his new family at our shelter. Have a little extra space for him to crash with you temporarily?? If so, reach out to us - we need fosters!! Chico's supplies & vet care will be provided by AAD while he's in foster care.   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING ONE OF OUR AMAZING RESCUE DOGS - WE CAN’T WAIT TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!   The first step in getting started with our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.adopt-a-dog.org. We welcome you to come visit our shelter! Meet & greets will be set up by appointment once your application has been received & processed. If a dog is still listed on Petfinder, we are still accepting applications for them!   *Name: Chico *Rescued from: Texas *Adoption fee: Puppies up to 1 year: $550 Young Adult (1-4 years): $475 Adult (4-7 years): $400 Senior (8+ years): $300 *Health: up to date on puppy shots so far (adopter will be responsible for remaining puppy vaccinations), spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed *If the dog you are adopting is not yet spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, we require a $150 deposit in addition to the adoption fee (to be refunded upon proof of surgery within 6 months of adoption)     ** Please note that we are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is often limited. We encourage you to consider individual personality rather than relying on a label – meeting a dog in person is the best way to make sure it’s love!   FAQs: WHAT IS THE ADOPTION PROCESS?: The first step in adopting an AAD puppy is to fill out an application via our website www.adoptadog.org. Once we receive your application, one of our application processors will contact you, and answer any questions you may have. We will also ask for additional information if needed (landlord or veterinarian contact information, or other based on your application). Once an application has been approved, we will schedule a mutually convenient time for a meet & greet! We do not operate on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy.   HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO ADOPT?:  You must be age 25 or older to apply to adopt. If you live in a home with other people (ie parents, relatives) the person who will be financially responsible for the care of the dog should be the one to fill out the application.   HOW CAN I MEET THE ADOPTABLE DOGS?: Meet and greets will be scheduled once your adoption application has been fully processed by one of our adoption processors. Please be sure to fill out the application as thoroughly as possible, as we want to make sure we find you the perfect match!   *If you have any additional questions that have not been answered, please e-mail info@adoptadog.org! ##1641656##

This beautiful German Shepherd girl is Moon and she is looking for a new home. Moon gets along well with people and dogs, but hasn't had any contact with cats. She will be 2 years old in October. She isn’t fully housebroken but is pee-pad trained. Moon has a lot of energy which is normal for a dog her age.  Moon is not with 11th Hour Rescue but we are networking her to help find a new home where she will be safe and loved. If you are interested in Moon, please contact jenmarrero6@gmail.com or 917-353-1302 for more information or to set up a meeting. Moon is currently located in Bronx, NY.June 5, 2023, 10:59 pm
