Story
Meet Sara — Your New Best Friend in a Perfectly Trained, 45-Pound Package of Love At just 20 months old, Miss Sara is already proving to be the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog everyone hopes for—smart, affectionate, eager to please, and now… beautifully trained. Originally adopted as a puppy, Sara was very loved—but when her owner sadly fell ill and could no longer care for her, everything changed. She returned to us with a heart full of love, but without the manners every young pup needs. We knew this girl had potential, so off she went to a professional 3-week training program… and wow, is she showing off. &#226&#156&#133 Training? She’s nailing it. &#226&#156&#133 People? She adores them. &#226&#156&#133 Dogs? Instant besties. &#226&#156&#133 Kids? She belly-crawls just to be close to them—it’s beyond precious. We believe she’s a Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds, with a gorgeous, sleek coat and a heart that beats for human connection. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—and yes, ready to go! Now, she’s just looking for a home that can match her devotion with love and guidance. Toys are her jam, and she’ll happily entertain herself or join you for a game of fetch. No kitties for this girl, please! Chasing them is just too much fun, and she needs a cat-free home to thrive. Sara is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Her loyalty is unmatched, her spirit is bright, and her readiness for her forever home couldn’t be clearer. Interested in giving this beautiful girl her happily-ever-after? Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com today. Let Sara show you what love, intelligence, and a second chance can really look like. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 11, 2025, 9:36 pm

Story
Puffin is back on the market and looking for the right fit! This smart active girl has a lot of great qualities going for her:*The perfect size at under 45lbs full grown.*Very smart! Too smart actually, she craves structure and enjoys training and learning new commands and tricks and puzzle toys to keep her mind busy. *She was housebroken and crate-trained in her previous home*Loyal to a fault. Once she connects with her person she makes it her life's purpose to please them and keep them safe.*Likes car rides and loves hikes in quiet areas. And at first glance people will think she's some kind of dingo or wild dog if you run into anyone while alone in the woods with her. She looks like a mini shepherd/cattle dog type mix, but her DNA reveals she's actually 50% pittie, 42% husky, and only 8% German Shepherd. But the shepherd personality is definitely dominant: if you love shepherd but want a smaller sized dog she's perfection. She does have her challenges that makes her stay in the shelter particularly stressful for her, and we would really love for her to get into a home environment again as soon as possible. She gets reactive meeting other dogs and "puffs up" all the hair down her back like a hyena, barking and trying to scare them away. It's all out of fear, and she has had a dog friend or 2 in the past once slowly and properly introduced, so might be able to live with the right submissive male buddy with a few careful intros. But overall has been working to learn to ignore dogs on walks which is extra difficult in the shelter being surrounded by dogs she's afraid of all day long. She's also nervous and timid with new people and needs time to assess if she wants you as a friend. She does accept bribes of cheese and chicken if you really want to get on her good side fast. But she's better in a calmer adult home where she can be introduced slowly to regular visitors and doesn't want to be the life of the party. Adults only, fast movements and kids grabbing would make her too nervous. She's quickly becoming a staff and volunteer favorite with her gentle nature and intelligence and we know she has potential to be someone's very best friend in the right home! Please submit an application to meet Puffin Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 42 Age: 3yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Dolly is a beautiful big baby shepherd, a little over one year old and already failed by many people in her young life. She's a 70lbs giant puppy looking for a home that will provide the training, exercise, and companionship this smart active breed needs to thrive. She bonds very quickly and is a total velcro dog Definitely no kitties or smaller animals, but she might like a big doggie brother with proper introductions. She's been friendly with all staff and volunteers at the shelter, but does need someone who understands shepherds and their potential for protective tendencies and training needs. Crate-training and getting her accustomed to one is a must as she learns house manners living in a real home for the first time. Please submit an application to meet our big baby Dolly Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Age: 1yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Meet staff and volunteer favorite Chance! This big "young senior" shepherd is a smart playful mushy guy, gentle and loving with people and craves attention. He loves his long walks and hikes and playing fetch in our fenced yards, and just hanging out leaning on you for pets. Chance clearly had a tough life was abandoned covered in old scars and suffering from a horrific abscess on his ear from years of chronic untreated infections. He's healed nicely although still needs regular ear cleanings and periodic treatments longterm. Otherwise he's in great health, a vibrant strong healthy guy. Chance is a total people person and definitely needs to be the only pet, no cats, small animals, or other dogs, but he's so lovable and affectionate you won't any other animals with this love sponge. Please submit an application to meet Chance Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Age: 9yrs 0mths 1wks
