Story
Jax is a young Dutch Shepherd I adopted from Harris County Pets in Houston when he was just three months old. He is a bindle colored, neutered male with endless energy, a sharp mind, and a loving personality. Jax is loyal, playful, curious, and incredibly affectionate once he gets to know you. He loves going on walks, rain or shine, and loves knowing new people. He is extremely intelligent, eager to learn, and he thrives with structure, exercise, and attention. I am looking for a home that can give him the time, patience, and active lifestyle he deserves. An owner with experience in working breeds would be ideal, but anyone willing to invest in a loving relationship with Jax will gain a devoted best friend. Jax has a big heart and enormous potential, and he deserves a family that can help him grow into the amazing dog he is meant to become.

Story
Little Ms. Perfect, aka Duchess is a 2 year old Dutch girl from Houston's third ward. She is the bestest pup you will ever meet. Poised, intelligent, obedient and absolutely stunning, Duchess loves to give her paw when she first meets someone she likes. Duchess was found as a stray by one of our team members who trapped her and brought her to her foster home. She became best friends with our Belgian malinois Mia instantly. The two are just incredibly sweet together. Duchess will do great in a home with or without a second dog, She loves her toys and is a hassle free pup. The only negative on her side is that she gets excited on walks and will need some gentle leash training. Duchess is around , and super sweet girl. She is 2 yo, 54 lb, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and kept on preventions. If you are looking for a sweet, sophistated, loving companion, Duchess may just be your perfect match. Yards must be full fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or invisible fences. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Duchess' adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and harness. There is also a transport fee of $100 - $300 depending on destination if outside of Houston. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
LOVES RESTAURANT PATIOS TO GET ATTENTION AND PUP CUPS  Est. DOB 4/8/18, weight 62 lbs. Beautiful Lucy, a gentle, loving girl who is great with children, enjoys car rides and walks in the neighborhood where she is on squirrel patrol! She especially enjoys going with her mom to dog-friendly café’s with outdoor seating where she gets to soak up the wait-staff’s attention and perhaps have a pup cup. She loves playing tug-of-war in the backyard with any dog toy, and she occasionally goes to the dog park and doggy day care. Lucy is looking for a new home now that her mom has downsized to an apartment and no longer has a backyard for Lucy to run around in. She was rescued from the street -- a car wash to be exact -- when she was just a youngster and has lived with a small dog ever since.  Lucy’s ideal home would be with a family who would include her in family outings such as trips to the kid’s baseball games or walks along the bayou walking trails. At the end of a busy day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and some quiet downtime with her people. She would enjoy living with another easygoing, calm, small/medium-sized dog friend. Or she could be a solo girl, but no cats, please.   HOPE ID D26-0225-0013 Lucy’s $200 adoption fee includes the spay, vaccines, microchip, negative heartworm test, negative fecal test, and monthly prevention for heartworms and fleas.  To apply online, go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php.  Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Lucy will be at this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you.
