Hi, I'm Stryper! I'm a playful tiger-striped boy looking for my forever home. You see, one day I came to the shelter as a homeless pup picked up by animal control. I was shy and timid and didn't trust anyone. But my people here at the shelter have taken such good care of me and shown me what love is and now I've blossomed into the silliest goofball! I am a tug-o-war champ and I absolutely love a good rope toy - I will even toss it around the yard and play by myself! If you're looking for a fun-loving furry companion, I'm your guy! Could yours be the home I've been looking for?

I was left in front of an abandoned store to fend for myself. My luck changed, however, when some kind humans got me to safety. I am a young and active guy. I would love a doggie friend or even a jogger to take me out. I do know a few commands, am in excellent health, and can't wait to find my forever family. I have not met cats yet.

🎾 Meet Bucky! 🎾Goofy • Loving • Ball-Chasing Best FriendHey, it’s me—Bucky! Can we all agree that I’m absolutely adorable? I think so! I’ve never met a stranger, and I love playing with other dogs. People might think I look or sound a little tough, but trust me—all I want is love, belly rubs, and a ball to chase.👉 ADOPT ME! I’m patiently waiting to meet my forever family. Could that be you? I’m currently staying with my loving foster family, but I can’t wait to find the humans I’ll call my own. Here’s what you should know about me:✔️ Super friendly—I love everyone!✔️ Basic training? Check!✔️ Healthy and full of energy!✔️ Obsessed with balls and backyard adventures!✔️ Excellent car ride buddy, especially if there’s a pup cup at the end.I’m known for my goofy personality and my habit of chatting it up with everyone I meet. People always leave saying I’m their new best friend! (P.S. I’d love to meet the lawn guy, but his loud machines sound way too much like my arch-nemesis: the vacuum cleaner. Yikes!)When I’m not protecting my yard from big flying birds (someone’s gotta do it!), you’ll find me ready for our next road trip, play session, or cuddle.I’m so ready for a family to love and a backyard to call my own. Will you be my forever? Come meet me— I’ll bring the ball!

Hi I'm Savvy!! A super smart and loyal friend looking for an active human to hike, jog, and camp with. I love lounging equally and won't judge if we just do a lazy day Sunday as well. Heck, I'll even wear your favorite team's jersey! Just don't forget the chips and snacks because I enjoy those too! Other dogs are fine and just give me a minute to get to know them; after that, it's all fun!

Story
Hey there, I'm Orion! I'm a puppy with a zest for life. I'm playful, energetic, and a bit of a goofball. But don't let that fool you - I'm also incredibly smart and brave. I even battled Parvo and came out a victor! My journey to the shelter and into a foster home was quite an adventure. I was living a normal puppy life when I was suddenly imbued with superpowers. I could hear whispers from miles away, run faster than a speeding car, and leap over tall fences in a single bound! But, like all superheroes, I had to face my nemesis - Parvo. It was a tough battle, but with my indomitable spirit, I triumphed. After my victory, I found myself here, waiting for my next adventure. If you're looking for a companion who's full of energy, has a knack for fun, and a heart full of bravery, then I'm your guy! Let's start our adventure together! If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!May 26, 2025, 5:04 am

Story
Hi I'm Stella, and I'm looking for a new home where I can be loved and become part of the family.  My foster wanted to tell you a little about me so here it is - "Stella loves to spend time with us, go in the pool, jump hurdles, go for walks and play with her toys. She is a wonderful girl!".  My foster family found me at a local gas station and I love being in a family environment. I'm searching for a loving family where I can be  their number one and given all the  attention I need. I'd probably do OK with older kids (I might knock a smaller child down since I'm a large, active puppy) and kitties if they can put up with my puppy antics. My foster is away from home a lot and has not been  able to be given the attention I so crave and I go to a boarding kennel when all I really want is to be home with my family.  I would love a family that has experience with working dogs, especially German Shepherds who understands the training needed for a young working dog puppy. I've started that training, but you will need to continue giving me lots of gentle guidance until I perfect all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know.  I may even treat people with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.
