Story
DOB: 12/23/2023 Weight: 62 lbs Energy level: High Overall drive: High Location: Seeley Lake, MT Meet Niyah: part detective, part shadow, part chaos goblin, and 100% devoted to her person. This stunning girl may take a minute to decide you’re worthy of her inner circle, but once you’re in? You’re in. Niyah is the kind of dog who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do like cooking dinner, bathroom trips, opening the fridge, existing in general. Personal space? Never heard of it. Niyah is incredibly intelligent, highly trainable, and thrives when given a job to do. Tug toys, balls, treats, training sessions - she lives for it all. Her signature move is weaving between your legs when she wants attention, reassurance, or simply thinks you’ve stopped petting her for far too long. She’s goofy, affectionate, intense, and hilariously nosy about everything happening around her. She’s fully house and crate trained (“Go to Holland” sends her happily to her crate), knows an impressive list of commands, and has excellent off-leash check-ins with her person. Niyah would excel in scentwork, sport work, or any home that enjoys training and engaging with their dog beyond just walks. Her ideal home is active, structured, and committed to giving her both mental and physical stimulation. She’d love a human who works from home or takes her along for adventures. No cats or small animals for this girl. If you’ve been looking for a fiercely loyal sidekick with brains, personality, and enough enthusiasm to keep life interesting, Niyah is waiting.

Story
~DOB: 10/1/2025 Weight: 63 lbs Energy level: Moderate-High Overall drive: High Location: Los Angeles, CA Meet Poppy; the kind of dog who doesn’t just join your life… she becomes your next great adventure! Beautiful, athletic, and brilliantly intelligent, Poppy is a young working dog with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. She’s always thinking, always learning, and always ready for the next challenge. Whether she’s chasing a flirt pole, mastering a new skill, or proudly carrying her favorite toy while asking for morning cuddles, Poppy brings enthusiasm and joy to every day. She has a wonderfully goofy side, too. Every evening she transforms into a fearless bug hunter, stalking tiny insects with the intensity of a miniature wild predator. When the excitement is over, she’ll happily settle nearby with a chew and occasionally give you sweet little “cobbing” nibbles to show her affection. Poppy is house trained, crate trained, eager to learn, and highly motivated by toys, food, and interactive play. She already knows several basic commands and continues to make excellent progress with loose-leash walking, impulse control, and settling around distractions. She thrives with structure, consistency, and a person who enjoys training as part of everyday life. Because she’s still an adolescent with strong working instincts, Poppy is looking for an experienced home that understands drive and arousal. She’ll do best with someone who enjoys hiking, dog sports, scent work, obedience, agility, or simply giving a talented dog meaningful outlets. Young children and small animals are not the right fit for her, but in the right hands, Poppy has all the ingredients to become an extraordinary lifelong partner. If you’ve been searching for a dog that will challenge you, make you laugh, and reward your dedication with unwavering loyalty, Poppy may just be your perfect match.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Juno! Juno is a 5-year-old, 60 lb Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. With his stunning brindle coat and soulful eyes, Juno may look a little intimidating at first glance ~ but he’s truly a sweet, loving, and loyal boy once you get to know him! Juno bonds deeply with his people and loves being out and about with his handler. He would make an excellent adventure companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. He’s affectionate, eager to be close to his person, and may even jump up for an enthusiastic “hug” when he’s excited to see you. Once Juno chooses his person, he’s all in. He’s a smart, eager-to-please dog who thrives with structure and consistency. Juno already knows sit, down, and his adorable “happy spin” at mealtime, and he would do great in a home that wants to continue working on training while providing both mental and physical outlets. Juno walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for walks and exploring. He would do best in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard (no apartments or condos) where he has space to decompress and move freely. When it comes to other dogs, Juno can do well with canine companions, especially with slow, thoughtful introductions. He has made dog friends and enjoys playing, particularly with larger female dogs, which tend to be his favorite match. He could also be happy as an only dog. An adult-only home or a home without young children (and no cats) is recommended, as Juno is strong, enthusiastic, and still working on some manners. Juno has so much love and loyalty to give ~ he’s just waiting for the right person or family to see what an incredible dog he truly is! Juno is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
LASSIE: The Romantic HuntressLassie is a spicy mix, perfect for adventurous souls. She'll give you the eye and roll onto her back for cuddles one minute, and then unleash her daring side and strike fear into the hearts of unsuspecting stuffed animals the next. She's day and night, sweet and savory, a Jane Austen character and an Avenger all rolled into one. More evidence of Lassie’s charm, bravery, and dramatic double life can be found here: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/lassie-2023076d/To call her a Swiss Army knife is an understatement. We don't understand why she's been on the program for so long, given her ability to charm you while simultaneously wiping out any rodent or cockroach infestation you might have in your home. Lassie is both friendly and fierce, loving and a hunter, yin and yang. The perfect balance.Just don't ask the stuffed animals for their opinion. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
