LASSIE: The Romantic HuntressLassie is a spicy mix, perfect for adventurous souls. She'll give you the eye and roll onto her back for cuddles one minute, and then unleash her daring side and strike fear into the hearts of unsuspecting stuffed animals the next. She's day and night, sweet and savory, a Jane Austen character and an Avenger all rolled into one. More evidence of Lassie’s charm, bravery, and dramatic double life can be found here: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/lassie-2023076d/To call her a Swiss Army knife is an understatement. We don't understand why she's been on the program for so long, given her ability to charm you while simultaneously wiping out any rodent or cockroach infestation you might have in your home. Lassie is both friendly and fierce, loving and a hunter, yin and yang. The perfect balance.Just don't ask the stuffed animals for their opinion. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Hello. My name is Bond, Chica Bond. When I saw my photos on the website, I decided to take charge of my description, because frankly, I have nothing to do with what they wrote there. I'm not a dog, I'm a secret agent. I don't understand why it doesn't say so anywhere.I'm going to protect you from everything, because I have the necessary intelligence, love, and energy, in large quantities. That includes: mice, lizards, cockroaches, tarantulas, and if necessary, any impertinent human out there. If a cat or a dog in the street were to attack you, I'd protect you too, because I don't really like them much, although I do love my canine colleagues at the secret agent academy. Confidential agent files, additional surveillance photos, and video evidence can be viewed here:https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/chica-2022066dAmong my more specialized skills, I know how to open doors, in case you get stuck. I'm not asking for much in terms of salary: a few squeaky toys, a ball or two to chase now and then, and some chicken-foot treats would be fine. Will you hire me?This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Juno! Juno is a 5-year-old, 60 lb Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. With his stunning brindle coat and soulful eyes, Juno may look a little intimidating at first glance ~ but he’s truly a sweet, loving, and loyal boy once you get to know him! Juno bonds deeply with his people and loves being out and about with his handler. He would make an excellent adventure companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. He’s affectionate, eager to be close to his person, and may even jump up for an enthusiastic “hug” when he’s excited to see you. Once Juno chooses his person, he’s all in. He’s a smart, eager-to-please dog who thrives with structure and consistency. Juno already knows sit, down, and his adorable “happy spin” at mealtime, and he would do great in a home that wants to continue working on training while providing both mental and physical outlets. Juno walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for walks and exploring. He would do best in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard (no apartments or condos) where he has space to decompress and move freely. When it comes to other dogs, Juno can do well with canine companions, especially with slow, thoughtful introductions. He has made dog friends and enjoys playing, particularly with larger female dogs, which tend to be his favorite match. He could also be happy as an only dog. An adult-only home or a home without young children (and no cats) is recommended, as Juno is strong, enthusiastic, and still working on some manners. Juno has so much love and loyalty to give ~ he’s just waiting for the right person or family to see what an incredible dog he truly is! Juno is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
She was found in the middle of nowhere, in the bones, and with too much fear, she tried to bite us until she could understand that we were not going to hurt her, we just wanted to help her, and she got on her belly, letting me know that she trusted me. She is a really sweet, intelligent, loving dog, she has too much love to give, and she needs to receive even more. She is a very loyal dog, and tends to dance with her front paws when she gets excited. She gets excited when she goes for a walk, she likes to see new places and sometimes she is a little shy at first with strangers but she understands quickly when people don't want to hurt her. On the contrary when she knows that people are a threat to her or to you, she is very protective. She gets along well with very few male dogs, she is dominant and does not usually play with other dogs, but she gets along very well with adults and children, she would be ideal for a family with small children, she knows how to measure her strength, and she is not at all rude with babies. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
Leggs is a resilient 32 pound, 1 year old pup working hard to become part of the world around him. While he’s naturally timid because he was feral the first three months of his life, he’s been bravely approaching new challenges and turned into the most amazing dog at home. Leggs is very intelligent and sensitive. He’s a bit cuddler and loves wrapping himself up in a blanket and hunkering down with his soft toys. He’s fantastic on a leash and incredibly gentle with myself, my children, and other dogs (including my super senior). He is crate trained, goes to the door when he needs to go potty, leash trained, and doing well on basic obedience and threshold training. He’s done well on trips to the park, long-leash walking on nature trails, and trips to pet-friendly stores such as Petco. His perfect home would be one that understands his initial need to decompress. After that, you can expect the most loyal and intuitive companion. He is not a fan of cats so no kitties please. Leggs is being fostered in Texas but can be transported out of state. You can apply directly for Leggs by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-835

Raven is my name and kind of like a raven, I am a 'loner'... except for the puppies i had when I arrived at the rescue... I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. I am a loving girl, in my own way... i lived on the streets for who knows how long and I honestly am not a cuddly girl or even a sit by your feet dog, YET... I have all kinds of love to give, you can see in my eyes that I have always dreamed of someone with the patience to love me for who I am and who I can be!! I am great on a leash and do love walking around and exploring. I am good with other dogs and likely would do best with another dog who is calm and confident with his/her family. I am so so ready for you, I have the shepherd double coat so I will shed in your house, must have a great vacuum cleaner and tolerance of hair :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Say Hello to Zyra … her name is as unique as she is. In Arabic, it means brightness. In Spanish, it means gift of god.In Hindu, it means bring good change. And in Hebrew, it means new beginnings. This dear girl is true to all of these. Which is remarkable given her background. For years, Zyra’s world was a patch of dirt in a backyard. No toys. No walks. No comfort. Just forced puppy breeding, loneliness, and a life of being used. But here’s the thing about Zyra -- they never broke her spirit. She still believes in people. She still lights up when you walk into the room. She still wants to play and curl up next to you, pressing in tight. Now six years old, Zyra is all heart. A German Shepherd through and through—smart, loyal, and devoted. What she is not is a dog-park social butterfly or a busy-sidewalk type of girl. Her soul is built for depth, not crowds.Zyra’s dream home is one with shepherd experience, no other pets, fencing and an understanding of what it means when a dog wants to be your whole world and can give that loyalty in return. She doesn’t want much … just a place where she can be safe, loved, and finally …FINALLY… the center of someone’s life and love. She’s waited long enough. Questions? Story
Welcome Ryker to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Husky/Shepherd mix. He weighs about 45 pounds and beautiful blue eyes. He knows sit, shake a paw and is good on a leash. He is smart and loyal companion. His loyalty will make him a little protective of his people. He is a wonderful dog and likes a number of different dogs here at the rescue. He was adopted and returned because he is protective when strangers came around. In our opinion, he is a perfect dog. In the right home, he will be perfect. A man who has had a shepherd would be best. Some person that is stronger and in control so the dog doesn’t have to be would be best. He would be great for a family that the husband travels out of town and he wants to leave a dog that will look after his family while he is away. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is great on a leash and will be a great dog for an outdoorsy person wanting a companion to tag along. Ryker has a beautiful bushy coat and would be perfect in the cooler climates in the North. He is vaccinated, neutered, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See his cute video!!

Story
Meet Max! Shelter staff and volunteers have fallen in love with this intelligent and playful pup. Max`s stoicism is quick to change once there`s a toy in front of him. Max LOVES tennis balls, stuffed toys, and anything that he can play with. He often digs through toy bins to find the toy with the right squeak, crunch, or texture - truly a connoisseur of sorts! This is what his temporary foster said about him: “Max is an absolute dream! He is such a gentle giant. He settles very fast after getting some play time and squeaks in. He sat and laid down right away in the car. He did bark at one dog that we passed in the car immediately upon leaving the shelter but then laid right down. He was so content laying in the backseat when we arrived home he stayed there and took a little encouraging to get out. Max enjoyed a nice walk in the evening. When we went to bed, he slept in my room on my bed the whole night not getting off once. He slept with his head on my leg all night! He is a bit of a bed thief though! Enjoyed sprawling out. Didn’t make a peep with the loud construction workers outside in the morning, and only sat up when he got hot. His want for affection grew overnight too. This morning he wanted belly rubs, wanted me to hold his paw, and continually came up for attention and love from both me and my mom. Max is such an easy loose leash walker and was reactive to less than half of the dogs we saw but very easy to redirect. Oh and after pottying this morning around 9am and some playtime he came right back up to bed with me for another nap! If I hadn’t gotten up he would’ve been totally content staying longer. Also, if you call his name he will come stand between your legs. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets!
