Story
https://foha.org/pet/nolan/ Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Love, Mom Check out all the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
This sweetie was picked up following a post person because she fed them. Very sweet, friendly and happy, she has the typical hound personalities!! Lily does tend to hang back a little and see what's going on around first. She likes to play and does well with the pups she is with right now. She will need all of the puppy training along with leash work. She is just a great puppy ready for a family to go on adventures with. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Molly - spayed female, 1 year, 63 lbs. Meet Molly! Molly came to us after she was no longer a good fit for her previous home. Now, Molly is searching for her forever family! If you are looking for a pup that'll give you a wild ride, than buckle up because Molly can do just that! She is a very energetic girl who is always on the go! Molly will need a home that is ready and willing to work with her energy level and the training she needs. After Molly gets her zoomies, she is a loving girl! Her favorite thing ever is belly rubs. She will flop over for some good belly scratches anytime! Molly isn't super treat or toy motivated, but we have found that her favorite toys are rope toys and bouncy balls! She is picky about her treats, but her ultimate favorite snack is a peanut butter rawhide free bone! That bone is good enough to her that she will stop mid run and sit just to get her favorite snack. Molly does not seem to mind other dogs, but she will need to meet any potential doggy friends! She would do best in a home without cats. Molly would do best with older, taller kids, as she has a tendency to jump and we don't want anyone getting knocked over! If Molly is the one for you, please fill out an application for her today! Molly is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

KNOWN COMMANDS: sit and stay and shake KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Yes KNOWN LIKES: dogs, people, playing, walks KNOWN DISLIKES: None currently known. We estimate Cokie to be between 1 and 2 years old ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Cokie – Your New Adventure Buddy with a Foxhound Heart! Cokie is a stunning young American Foxhound with a sleek frame, long legs, and a curious nose always ready for the next great adventure. Weighing in at 46 pounds, he’s the perfect mid-size companion for someone who loves the outdoors as much as he does. Cokie’s Personality: This handsome hound is the best of both worlds—athletic and energetic outside, but calm and relaxed at home once his exercise needs are met. Cokie isn’t a velcro dog or a couch cuddler; instead, he prefers to unwind solo in his crate, enjoying his own quiet corner. But don’t let his independence fool you—he’s friendly, social, and always happy to meet new people and dogs. He just marches to the beat of his own hound-y drum. Smart, Trainable & Crate-Happy: Cokie is housebroken, crate trained, and highly food-motivated—he’s already mastered “sit,” “stay,” “lie down,” “shake,” and “go to your bed”! He’s currently polishing up his loose leash skills and, like a true Foxhound, sometimes pulls when his nose catches something intriguing. With continued guidance, he’ll be a leash-walking pro in no time. Social and Gentle: Cokie loves other dogs, is gentle with children, and is friendly with new people. While he hasn’t met any cats yet, his low prey drive suggests he may be able to coexist peacefully with them. Cokie's Quirks: As a typical Foxhound, Cokie can be a little stubborn and has that iconic baying voice—he’s not a silent roommate! He barks when he’s frustrated or under-exercised and may show some anxiety when you first leave the house. He also startles at loud noises (like vacuums and leaf blowers) but is making steady progress with desensitization. Cokie’s Ideal Home: He’ll thrive in a home with: · A large, fenced-in yard · Another friendly dog to pal around with · An active household that enjoys long walks, hikes, or time outdoors · Someone familiar with hound breeds, or willing to learn about their unique needs and quirks A Bit About His Past: Cokie came to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue from a rural shelter in South Carolina. He’s now looking for a forever family that will see him for who he is: a beautiful, intelligent, and good-natured pup with tons of potential. Why You’ll Love Him: Cokie may not be a couch snuggler, but he’ll be your happiest hiking partner, your most loyal walking buddy, and a steady, curious companion with a gentle heart and independent streak. He’s the kind of dog who may not ask for much—but gives you everything he’s got.
