Story
https://foha.org/pet/nolan/ Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Love, Mom Check out all the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Happy Hound Dog Looking for a Home RILEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Riley       Best Guess for Breed:    Foxhound Mix    Best Guess for Age:    1 year as of January 2026        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:    35 lbs as of January 2026   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    Shelter. She needs a DC-area foster home or adopter to make her way out of the shelter.   Special adoption considerations: Riley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Riley is Looking For:    A family to take her on long sniffaris - she is eager to explore her new home with that hound nose! Riley would love a warm, loving home where she can get lots of treats, go on adventures, and make new friends.   What My Foster Says About Me:    Coming soon! We will update this when she has spent time in a foster home.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Koda is a young spirited fella with a very friendly and amiable nature. As a large dog, Koda thrives on being outdoors and loves his walks. He really likes other dogs and tries to play with every dog he sees along the way. He does OK with kids too, but would do best in a home without cats. Koda loves his food, but he can get a little protective around it, especially when other dogs are around. This means he'd do best in a home where he's the only dog. He is also housebroken and crate trained. Koda is ready to find a home where he can share his loyalty and playful spirit with a family who will cherish him forever. Could it be yours?  Submit an application today!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
