Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet young pup seeking fresh start and love! COCOA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Cocoa         Best Guess for Breed:  Foxhound terrier and beagle mix Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of 9/25/23       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  30 lbs as of 8/24/23; still has a bit more to grow!   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! Hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested.    Currently Living at:  Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on a freedom flight up here!   Cocoa is Looking For:  This sweetie is one of a litter of four (Venti, Coffee, Mocha, and Cocoa) born to their mama Prada. They grew up together in a Puerto Rico shelter and now they're eager to come to the DC area and split up to get their own forever homes! You can imagine how different the smells in this area will be from Puerto Rico! Cocoa is oh so eager to have her own humans to trot alongside, checking out all those smells; for romps in parks; and all the adventures her new family can dream up! She'd also like to make pup and people pals along the way, and attend dog school to show how super smart she is.  Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved for all her days - and to have her own humans to bestow all those adoring gazes and tail wags upon. What do you say? Does Cocoa sound like just the right warm drink for you, especially headed into those cooler fall days? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once this pup has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Inca is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: There is nothing Inca loves more than humans and thrives on human connection - she will greet everyone with her wagging tail and endearing looks. A true social butterfly, Inca is a favorite during walks, where she gladly accepts all the pets and praises showered upon her. She loves to spend her days going on long walks in the park, playing tug-of-war, looking out the window, and snoozing at home. She is an independent girl and will do well alone - some quality time outdoors with her people is all she needs to keep her happy. While Inca is generally great on her walks, she is learning to 'look at me' to help with her fear of big trucks. She has fairly good recall (though sometimes she cannot resist reaching the nearest human for pets) and is starting to get comfortable with being off leash outside so she can do what she loves the most - run free and play tag with her human in the park. Inca has been known to do fairly well in a crate in the past, but she is the best-behaved girl when left on her own, and will easily relax in her favorite spots at home. Though she loves to say hello and play with most dogs she meets, she is still learning to share and can get easily overwhelmed, and may be best suited as the only dog at home. Inca has spent her time in different homes, but she is a resilient girl - she is looking for a patient, forever home with people who can understand her sensitivities and give her the comfort she is craving for. ATTRIBUTES: Inca should not be placed in a home with children, but does well with children outside of the home. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Story
Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Story
Meet Bunny or as we refer to her our sweet as honey Bunny! She is about 1 year old hound mix who weighs about 45 lbs. Bunny loves people and does great with other dogs! She is a young and active girl who LOVES playing with other dogs and will require another young and playful dog in her forever home. Bunny is an A+ snuggler! She can be found curled up with the foster's dogs or in bed under the blankets. She loves her new "rescued" life so much that she isn't happy being alone for long so she will need a forever home where people are around in the day. She also loves children and is fostered with 2 young children. She walks great on a leash but can be shy to new noises thus a nice quiet neighborhood suits her best. Bunny is spayed, up to date on vaccines, she is heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***We do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 5 unless they currently live with a dog or have lived with a dog in their home*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Granby is a handsome 8-year-old Foxhound/Beagle mix. He has had a lot of change in his life and is seeking new accommodations. First, his human died and then his best buddy who was a cat died. He finds himself a little out of sorts with folks who are keeping him safe but not dog people. He is house trained and walks well on leash. He is tentative about strangers coming to the house and needs to work on proper introductions or put in another room or crate if guests are over. Granby has 5 personal trainer sessions with a trainer who knows him that will transfer to his adopter (Falls Church, VA area, willing to travel in DMV area). His ideal home is a quiet one without children and lots of people coming and going. We are seeking an adopter who has Fox Hound or dog experience who knows how to show leadership to a pup. He weighs 70 pounds and is full grown. Adoption fee is waived, but approval process is not. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. If you are interested in fostering to adopt, please fill out the online application: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ If you have been approved within the past 6 months and are interested in Granby, please reply to your approval email. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd
