-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 80-100 lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: DOB: 2/6/26 -KNOWN WITH DOGS: Excellent. Kobe adores other dogs of all ages and sizes and loves to play. -KNOWN WITH CATS: Yes. Kobe is curious about cats and would love to play with them. He is doing very well learning to read and respect the resident cat’s boundaries. -KNOWN WITH KIDS: Excellent. Kobe loves kids of all ages and has lived happily with children. -KNOWN CUES: Kobe is smart, treat-motivated, and learning quickly. He is currently working on basic manners, leash skills, and settling. Like any six-month-old puppy, continued training will be important—especially since he’s going to be a big boy! -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Kobe is mostly housebroken, although he still has an occasional puppy accident. He does great in his crate and sleeps comfortably in it overnight. During the day, he may complain for a minute if he can hear people elsewhere in the house, but he settles quickly. -KNOWN LIKES: Cuddles, other dogs, people, kids, walks, sniffing, playing, treats, and being wherever his humans are. -KNOWN DISLIKES: Nothing significant identified. He can initially be a little cautious with unfamiliar people but warms up quickly. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Kobe (formerly Baldur) came into foster care with his mama, Bindi, and littermates when he was just a couple of days old. He was adopted as a puppy and recently returned to our care through no fault of his own. Now six months old and nearly 60 pounds, he’s grown from the fluffy little puppy we knew into one very big, very lovable goofball. His DNA shows he is primarily Rottweiler and American Foxhound, and he will be a large dog when fully grown. Notes from the foster: Kobe is a big, lovable goofball who is still very much a six-month-old puppy and has absolutely no idea how big he is! At nearly 60 pounds (and still growing), he’s playful, curious, smart, affectionate, and an absolute cuddle bug. He loves people, is wonderful with kids, and adores other dogs of all ages and sizes. He’s curious about the resident cat and would really like him to be a playmate, but he’s doing well learning to respect boundaries. Kobe can be a little cautious when first meeting someone new, but he warms up quickly. Kobe is mostly housebroken and sleeps beautifully in his crate at night. He may protest briefly if crated during the day while he can still hear his people, but settles down. He loves walks, sniffing, playing, toys, treats, and being wherever his humans are. He can also be a little mouthy when excited or playing—typical puppy behavior that we’re working on redirecting to toys. Kobe is a very big puppy with an equally big heart. He’ll do best with a family ready to continue his training, give him plenty of opportunities to play and explore, and appreciate the occasional reminder that nearly 60 pounds is probably too big to be a lap dog. Kobe, however, strongly disagrees. ❤️ If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: Anne at annehtar@gmail.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Fill out the application and we will follow up with you! Story
Meet Citrine! Hobbies include: staring at the ground waiting for little critters, hiking, curling up in a good spot, eating (kindred spirit here), and being loved on. At 55 lbs, she is the "Goldilocks" size—sturdy enough for a hike, but perfectly shaped for a snuggle. House Training Pro: She is 100% house-trained and takes great pride in her good manners. The Neighborhood Explorer: She absolutely loves her daily walks. She enjoys taking in all the sniffs the neighborhood has to offer.  She needs a yard and likes to explore. Crate Optional: She is crate trained and uses it like a pro, but honestly? She’s so trustworthy she doesn’t even need it. Professional Lounger: Whether it’s the sofa, a plush dog bed, or just a sunny spot on the rug, She is a world-class napper. She’s just happy to be where you are. The Ideal Home: Citrine is looking for a friend, a person, or a family to spend her life with. Inside the house, she has a gentle, low-key energy with a silly side that makes her a great companion for just about anyone (sorry, she's just not into fetch. You can't expect her to be perfect, can you?) She loves the companionship of other dogs but is happy solo as well. She has done excellent with a prior foster's 2 rambunctious children and is not phased at all by their energy! She has shown no signs of resource guarding or aggression. Whether it's a quiet house or a chaotic one, Citrine is a gem! Preferably, her adopter will be familiar with foxhound traits. In particular, hunting instincts and bawling. Patience for continued leash training is recommended. Must be leashed when outside. Don't sleep on her, sign up to meet her and see for yourself! Adoption Day:  September 5th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Story
https://foha.org/pet/nolan/ Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Story
Current Location: York, PA Meet Arkansas! At just 8 months old, Arkansas is the total package. This handsome young pup has an easygoing personality that surprises everyone who meets him. Calm, affectionate, and always happy to be with his people, he is the kind of dog who fits naturally into family life. Arkansas is a true love bug. He greets everyone like an old friend and has never met a belly rub he didn't like. If you stop to say hello, don't be surprised if he rolls right over and politely requests a few scratches before continuing on his way. He is a wonderful companion whether you're heading out for an adventure or enjoying a quiet evening at home. Arkansas rides beautifully in the car, walks nicely on leash, is house trained, and sleeps comfortably in his crate. He enjoys being close to his people and is happiest simply spending time together. Although he still has all the fun and curiosity of a young dog, Arkansas has a gentle, relaxed nature that makes him easy to live with. He is eager to please, affectionate, and always ready to share his big heart. Arkansas is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. He is ready to pack his bags and begin the next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he will love them. If you have been searching for a loyal best friend with a sweet soul and an even sweeter smile, Arkansas is waiting to meet you.

Story
Granby is a handsome 8-year-old Foxhound/Beagle mix. He has had a lot of change in his life and is seeking new accommodations. First, his human died and then his best buddy who was a cat died. He finds himself a little out of sorts with folks who are keeping him safe but not dog people. He is house trained and walks well on leash. He is tentative about strangers coming to the house and needs to work on proper introductions or put in another room or crate if guests are over. Granby has 5 personal trainer sessions with a trainer who knows him that will transfer to his adopter (Falls Church, VA area, willing to travel in DMV area). His ideal home is a quiet one without children and lots of people coming and going. We are seeking an adopter who has Fox Hound or dog experience who knows how to show leadership to a pup. He weighs 70 pounds and is full grown. Adoption fee is waived, but approval process is not. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. If you are interested in fostering to adopt, please fill out the online application: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ If you have been approved within the past 6 months and are interested in Granby, please reply to your approval email. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd
