He is currently working on basic manners, leash skills, and settling. His DNA shows he is primarily Rottweiler and American Foxhound, and he will be a large dog when fully grown. Notes from the foster: Kobe is a big, lovable goofball who is still very much a six-month-old puppy and has absolutely no idea how big he is! At nearly 60 pounds (and still growing), he’s playful, curious, smart, affectionate, and an absolute cuddle bug. He loves people, is wonderful with kids, and adores other dogs of all ages and sizes. He’s curious about the resident cat and would really like him to be a playmate, but he’s doing well learning to respect boundaries. Kobe can be a little cautious when first meeting someone new, but he warms up quickly. Kobe is mostly housebroken and sleeps beautifully in his crate at night. He may protest briefly if crated during the day while he can still hear his people, but settles down. He loves walks, sniffing, playing, toys, treats, and being wherever his humans are. He can also be a little mouthy when excited or playing—typical puppy behavior that we’re working on redirecting to toys. Kobe is a very big puppy with an equally big heart. She has done excellent with a prior foster's 2 rambunctious children and is not phased at all by their energy! She has shown no signs of resource guarding or aggression. Whether it's a quiet house or a chaotic one, Citrine is a gem! Preferably, her adopter will be familiar with foxhound traits. In particular, hunting instincts and bawling. Brother to Shades, Flip Flop is a happy, playful guy who seems to approach every day like it’s the best day ever. He prances around, keeps his foster family laughing, and has plenty of love to give. At bedtime, Flip Flop is great about heading into his crate all by himself, and he even seems to consider it his safe place during thunderstorms. When he’s relaxing outside, he enjoys alternating between soaking up the sun and finding a nice shady spot for a nap. Flip Flop also has an impressive deep bark, which he happily contributes when the other dogs decide the delivery driver needs a proper announcement. 😂 At mealtime, Flip Flop can be a bit of a leisurely eater—sometimes dinner takes two sessions because there are simply too many interesting things going on to stop and finish eating! He loves to play and enjoys a good round of roughhousing, so his canine playmates should be sturdy and appreciate an enthusiastic play style. And when playtime is over? Brother to Flip Flop, Shades is a sweet, affectionate boy who brings joy wherever he goes. He is constantly wagging his tail, looking for affection, and eager to please. One of his favorite ways to show his love is by standing on his hind legs to give “hugs.” Shades has settled beautifully into life in a home and appears to be housebroken, with no accidents in over a month. He gets along very well with his foster siblings and seems to have just the right amount of energy to enjoy both older and younger dogs. He has also been introduced to doggie daycare at the local Dogtopia, where he passed his evaluation with flying colors. Everyone there agrees that Shades is a very good boy! Shades is food motivated and loves showing off his SIT. Most of all, he is a happy, loving dog who enjoys being around people and other dogs. He has come a long way in learning the comforts of life indoors and is ready to find a forever family of his own. We did a DNA test on one of the puppies, and here are the results: 64.2% American Foxhound; 29.4% Treeing Walker Coonhound; and 6.4% Pointer. This sweet handsome boy came to Mutt Love from a NC shelter where they euthanize dogs who are in the shelter longer than days.  Ranger deserved a chance at a happy life and a loving home so we made him part of the Mutt Love family.  Ranger is estimated at about 2-3 years old currently weighs about 55 pounds, although he does need to put on a few pounds.  Ranger is heartworm positive and is beginning treatment soon at our vet. Dolly is about 1 year old and weighs about 20 lbs. We think Dolly looks like a Beagle/Bassett Hound Mix (Just a Guess). Dolly is very sweet and loving but needs time to warm up to new people and new environments. Dolly will require another young and playful dog in her forever home as she LOVES to run and doggie wrestle. Dolly will do best in a home where someone is around a good portion of the day. Dolly has done great with her house training, but she absolutely dislikes the crate, but is fine with a baby gate in the kitchen. The good news is she doesn't need to be crated. Dolly has not been around cats so we are not comfortable placing her in a home with cats. This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. 🎓 FREE Post-Adoption Training Support!
