Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Stuart – The Fluffy Little Fighter! Stuart is an impossibly fluffy, tiny French Bulldog with a mighty heart. Born August 31st with a cleft palate, Stuart was tube-fed from birth—but he’s come an incredible long way. He now eats completely on his own and continues to grow stronger and more confident every day. While he’s still smaller than most pups his age, he’s thriving and proving just how resilient he is. Stuart currently prefers drinking from a water bottle rather than a bowl, which helps him manage his cleft safely and comfortably. What does his cleft mean long term? Most cleft palate pups—just like Stuart—learn to eat and drink normally as they grow. In over 13 years of raising cleft pups, surgery has rarely been necessary and is not recommended unless chronic sinus infections develop. These procedures can create more problems than they solve, and Stuart has been doing wonderfully without surgery. Because he was hand-raised, Stuart is extremely people-oriented and deeply bonded to his humans. He loves being close—whether that’s snuggled in your arms or toddling along behind you from room to room. He lives comfortably in a busy home with lots of dogs and children and does great with both. Why You’ll Love Him: Sweet, gentle, and incredibly people-focused Eats on his own and continues to gain confidence Great with dogs and kids Fluffy, unique, and undeniably adorable A resilient, once-in-a-lifetime kind of companion Adoption Fee: $700 Apply: AdoptPet – Recycled Pets NorCal Anyone would be lucky to welcome this special little boy into their home. If you’re ready to love, protect, and spoil him the way he deserves, Stuart is ready to love you right back. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ora – The Shimmering Little Miracle &#226&#156&#168 Ora is a growing French Bulldog with a heart of gold and a coat as rare and beautiful as her story. Born August 20th, she was brought to the Antioch Shelter, who reached out to us for help. Despite that rocky start, Ora has blossomed into a happy, confident, social young dog who is more than ready for her forever home. Ora is no longer a tiny baby—she’s getting bigger, stronger, and more playful by the day, and she truly needs a family of her own now. She absolutely adores people, loves other dogs, and clearly came from a home where she was loved and well socialized. What Makes Ora So Unique? Ora is a double merle Frenchie. While this creates her stunning light coat, it can come with increased risk of vision or hearing issues. Ora beat the odds—she can see and hear and functions just like any other joyful, active young dog. One of her eyes is red, likely related to albinism, which may cause mild light sensitivity, but it does not slow her down. More About Ora: Born: 8/20 Size: Growing quickly and no longer a tiny puppy Personality: Outgoing, affectionate, and people-focused Health: Sees and hears; possible mild light sensitivity Behavior: Playful, social, loves dogs, happiest with her humans Special Traits: Rare merle coat, red albino eye, resilient and joyful &#226&#156&#168 Ora Is Ready—And Waiting Ora doesn’t need a rescue anymore—she needs a home. She’s a wonderful, normal young Frenchie with a little extra sparkle who deserves stability, love, and her own family. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Brie, the delightful 2-year-old French Bulldog with a heart as warm as her fur. Brie is a charming canine companion, characterized by her laid-back demeanor and love for leisure. While she may not be a morning enthusiast, her playful side emerges when the mood strikes, making her a delightful playmate. Brie's unique story adds a layer of depth to her character. She was previously the cherished companion of an owner who faced physical challenges but provided her with love and care. Unfortunately, her owner has passed away, and now Brie is seeking a new loving home. This adorable Frenchie is a social butterfly with other animals, displaying a non-dominant and friendly attitude. She's currently in the process of learning crate and house training, showcasing her adaptability and willingness to learn. Brie has been spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  One of Brie's endearing quirks is her preference for sleeping on your bed, where she can unleash her impressive snoring talents. Despite the noise, her comforting presence is sure to bring joy and warmth to your nights. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing, and affectionate furry friend, Brie might be the perfect addition to your home. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi!! I am Diego! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a spunky little boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in mid-2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a potato! Oops… I mean, I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am around 20 pounds. Perfect, right? WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a handsome fawn fox (at least that’s what foster mom says, and I don’t disagree!) I’ve got darker fur on my muzzle and around my big, curious eyes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love any and all food. To keep me healthy and growing strong, my foster family feeds me kibble and it’s delicious. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a very energetic young man! I love life and have no problem entertaining myself with my toys. Let’s play! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would start with breakfast and then a walk or play time. After that, I would love to take a nap, play some more, maybe walk some more if I can convince my human to go out again, and then it’s dinner time. After dinner, I would play a little more and then go to bed. I love to ride in the car and am really great company running errands. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My foster family has lots of toys for me. I love the ones I can toss around. My favorites are rope toy and a long snake. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Is being really handsome a trick? Because I’ve got that one mastered! I also know sit and come and I am learning leave it and spot (a place command). WHAT SCARES YOU? I am a pretty brave little guy. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have not. I should be in a home with adults only because kids will not understand that my stuff is my stuff and I don’t want to share! DO YOU LIKE CATS? There are no cats in my foster home. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have met a few other dogs and I liked them. With proper introductions, I think I could have some good times with a dog friend. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I love to be around my humans and will follow them anywhere. I am an excellent supervisor in the kitchen. And when it is quiet time, I will curl up on my bed next to my humans like a good little companion. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? My health is good. When I first came to the rescue, I had a hard time breathing, but NorCal Bully Breed Rescue made sure I got the surgery I needed. I am a new boy now and, oh wow, is life fun when you can breathe! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I’ve got great foster parents! I like my foster mom so much! I would follow her anywhere. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am a very good boy napping in my X-pen when I am left alone. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my X-pen. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love going for walks, even though my little legs wont carry me very far. Everything is very exciting out in the big world, so I am still perfecting my leash manners. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I am still a young man, so sometimes normal puppy behavior surfaces, but my foster family always makes sure I’m supervised so I don’t get into mischief. Sometimes, I get worried that people are going to take my things, and that makes me uncomfortable. Until I figure that out, I would prefer to have my own space while I play with a treasured toy or eat my meals. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am potty trained like a very good boy! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I love to drink water. I don’t mind a bath. My legs are not built for swimming, so that’s the only water I need. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love their company! People are so much fun! Oh, and they also feed me and give me toys, which is pretty cool of them. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I am so excited for what lies ahead for me. Perhaps you and I can explore what the future would look like together? I can’t wait to spend forever with you! Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Mía! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a very pretty girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on March 21, 2022! WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh 24 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a blue merle, so my coat is swirl of grey and white! My beautiful hazel eyes are quite mesmerizing, but my main showstopper is my adorable floppy left ear! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love food and would eat anything I'm given. However, I have some allergies to chicken and other poultry products. My favorite treats are salmon bites my foster mom gives me! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am perky and energetic! I love to chew on my squeaky toys or be cuddled while getting a belly rub. I love love LOVE being with my humans! But my most favorite thing to do is steal toys and play catch me if you can! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is eat, play, sleep, cuddle on repeat! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My favorite toys are the ones I steal from others! Especially the rubber spikey kong balls, squeaky toys, or the Benebones! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know "sit" so far! And I know to go to my crate when it's time to eat or sleep. WHAT SCARES YOU? I have a case of FOMO (fear of missing out) but that's about all so far. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, I've only met older kids so far (9+ years old). I like that they give me a lot of attention and love to play with me and my toys! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven't met a cat. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like them a lot, big or small! Especially playing keep away with toys! It's my favorite game! Though since I can be a toy hog, slow introductions are important. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I love to be with my humans getting attention or just cuddling on the couch. When it's warm out, I do love sunbathing! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m an IVDD survivor! I have recovered amazingly from surgery and just have a little wobble when I walk. So I use soft stairs to go up and down the couch, and I avoid hard stairs. Did I mention I'm allergic to poultry? Typical Frenchie right? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, foster grandma, and five other dogs! There are two large Cane Corsos, two other frenchies (Peru and Billy), and something called a "chiwhatwhat.” I'm closest to my foster mom because she took such good care of me while I healed, but also because she's my snack supplier. Though, I have a little crush on Peru and like stealing his toys to make him chase me. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang in my x-pen area or an extra large crate. I have enough room to stretch my legs WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Same as my hangout area. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I’m pretty great on leash and love going on walks and adventures! Though my walks aren't very long just yet since I'm slowly building up my muscles and stamina. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Well, I guess stealing toys is frowned upon by some when I get overzealous about it. So toys have been a slow introduction when in shared spaces. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I use a doggy door with confidence if I have access to it! Though if there's a potty pad in my x-pen, I'll use that too. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I LOVE to slurp it, not sure how I would feel about a splash pad on a hot day, but I’m willing to try it out when the weather warms up! No swimming pools for me. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They make me feel safe and loved, and give me so many toys to play with! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUED? Well, I was used for breeding, then given up when it took a toll on my body. The vet hospital that did my surgery contacted NorCal Bully Breed Rescue to help me find a loving home. Now that I’m all healed up, I am ready to spend the rest of my fabulous life being loved and cuddled and playing and going on walks. And did I mention love? I would LOVE to love you forever if you give me a chance! **MIA'S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 750.** If you are interested in adopting MIA, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
