Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Available in Sacramento area- Meet Jabarkus! Born February 25, 2025, Jabarkus is a French Bulldog puppy with a true underdog story — and a big heart to match. When Jabarkus came to us at just 4 weeks old, he couldn’t even stand or walk, struggling with "swimmer puppy syndrome" due to poor early care. With time, love, and the right therapy, Jabarkus beat the odds — not only walking but now leading the pack! He's the first of his litter to master climbing stairs — and he does it with pride. Jabarkus is still waiting for the "ear fairy" to grant him his signature Frenchie ears, but honestly, it just adds to his irresistible charm. His attitude is perfectly balanced — sometimes he’s full of playful menace, getting into harmless trouble, and other times he’s the ultimate snuggle bug, melting into your arms for a nap. A few fun facts about Jabarkus: Overcame early physical challenges with grit and determination. First of his litter to climb stairs — no mountain too high for this boy! Sporting the cutest soft ears while waiting for them to pop. Sweetly split between mischief and mellow — the best of both worlds. Ideal home: Jabarkus would thrive with someone who appreciates both sides of his personality — playful but tender. He would love having a playful sibling (dog or human!) to keep him busy, and someone who can cheer him on as he continues growing into the amazing boy he’s becoming. If you're looking for a little fighter with a lot of love and a sparkle of mischief, Jabarkus is ready to steal your heart (and probably your socks too!). ADOPTION FEE: $950 Foster-to-adopt: Due to the incidence of IVDD in french bulldogs, we will not be altering the babies and think they need to be more mature before spay and neuter.  The puppies have been dewormed and received their first vaccines.  Further vet care, including spay and neuter, will be the responsibility of the adopters.  However, until the dogs are altered, it will be considered a foster situation, if they are not altered in the time period determined, they will need to be returned to us (and we will make sure).  Frenchies are cute, but with all breeding we believe only papered dogs with clear dna testing should be bred and as such we are strict that these puppies are pets only. We recommend with all bulldogs that you get insurance.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 4, 2025, 1:35 pm

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Mía! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a very pretty girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on March 21, 2022! WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh 24 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a blue merle, so my coat is swirl of grey and white! My beautiful hazel eyes are quite mesmerizing, but my main showstopper is my adorable floppy left ear! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love food and would eat anything I'm given. However, I have some allergies to chicken and other poultry products. My favorite treats are salmon bites my foster mom gives me! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am perky and energetic! I love to chew on my squeaky toys or be cuddled while getting a belly rub. I love love LOVE being with my humans! But my most favorite thing to do is steal toys and play catch me if you can! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is eat, play, sleep, cuddle on repeat! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My favorite toys are the ones I steal from others! Especially the rubber spikey kong balls, squeaky toys, or the Benebones! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know "sit" so far! And I know to go to my crate when it's time to eat or sleep. WHAT SCARES YOU? I have a case of FOMO (fear of missing out) but that's about all so far. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, I've only met older kids so far (9+ years old). I like that they give me a lot of attention and love to play with me and my toys! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven't met a cat. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like them a lot, big or small! Especially playing keep away with toys! It's my favorite game! Though since I can be a toy hog, slow introductions are important. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I love to be with my humans getting attention or just cuddling on the couch. When it's warm out, I do love sunbathing! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m an IVDD survivor! I have recovered amazingly from surgery and just have a little wobble when I walk. So I use soft stairs to go up and down the couch, and I avoid hard stairs. Did I mention I'm allergic to poultry? Typical Frenchie right? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, foster grandma, and five other dogs! There are two large Cane Corsos, two other frenchies (Peru and Billy), and something called a "chiwhatwhat.” I'm closest to my foster mom because she took such good care of me while I healed, but also because she's my snack supplier. Though, I have a little crush on Peru and like stealing his toys to make him chase me. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang in my x-pen area or an extra large crate. I have enough room to stretch my legs WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Same as my hangout area. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I’m pretty great on leash and love going on walks and adventures! Though my walks aren't very long just yet since I'm slowly building up my muscles and stamina. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Well, I guess stealing toys is frowned upon by some when I get overzealous about it. So toys have been a slow introduction when in shared spaces. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I use a doggy door with confidence if I have access to it! Though if there's a potty pad in my x-pen, I'll use that too. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I LOVE to slurp it, not sure how I would feel about a splash pad on a hot day, but I’m willing to try it out when the weather warms up! No swimming pools for me. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They make me feel safe and loved, and give me so many toys to play with! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUED? Well, I was used for breeding, then given up when it took a toll on my body. The vet hospital that did my surgery contacted NorCal Bully Breed Rescue to help me find a loving home. Now that I’m all healed up, I am ready to spend the rest of my fabulous life being loved and cuddled and playing and going on walks. And did I mention love? I would LOVE to love you forever if you give me a chance! **MIA'S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 750.** If you are interested in adopting MIA, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi, I’m Peaches! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a darling little girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am approximately five years old as of the end of 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French-fry! Well, they say I am a French Bulldog, but I identify as a potato and the best kind of potatoes are fries. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a little 18 pound nugget. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a fawn-coated little lady with a white splash above my nose, satellite ears, the sweetest eyes, and the MOST amazing underbite that shows off my adorable teefs. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I eat my kibble like the good little girl that I am. But I won’t turn down pretty much anything else that is offered, or that falls on the floor in my vicinity! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am as sweet as a peach. I am goofy and love to dance on my hind legs when I am happy or excited. My preferred position is snuggled up with a human, seconded by snuggling up with a doggy friend. I want to please and am enjoying learning new things. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I wake up and do a biiiiiig stretch before I head outside for potty time. I make a quick stop at the toy box to grab the toy du jour on the way out the door. After breakfast, I like to take a quick walk to help with digestion and get some sniffs in. The rest of the day is naps and playtime, and then it’s sleepy time after a very fun day! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I am having so much fun getting to know the different toys available at my foster home. I’m favoring the crinkly ones at the moment, but nylabones are a very close second! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I learned how to sit very quickly, and I know how to “go to bed” when told to. That is not only a super cute trick, but it is such a good girl thing to do, right?!? I am a skilled ballerina as I dance around on my hind legs! I am learning how to wait patiently at the door to be invited in/out. That’s a tough one, but I am smart and well behaved so I am working hard on it! WHAT SCARES YOU? Being left completely alone is a little scary. I’ve been practicing and, even though I still don’t like it, I am much calmer about it. Other than that, as long as I have a human or a dog friend nearby, I’m not afraid of anything! Oh, and I have to admit that the Frenchie side of me thinks the bottom of an empty food dish is terrifying, but it happens every day and so far I have survived (somehow). HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes! I am so good with everyone! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I was in a foster home before where there was a cat, and we pretty much just coexisted without a problem. I wasn’t too interested, really. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I want to be friends with every dog I see. I am a little sassy to potential new friends when I am on a leash, but I figure out quickly that they are not trying to take all the attention away from me. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Snuggled up with a human, snoring! Either in the sun or under a blanket, dealer’s choice there. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a healthy girl. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, their two resident dogs, and another foster Frenchie. I am really into my foster mom and we hang out the most. She loves me so much and takes such great care of me. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my room. Sometimes I stay in my crate, but I have been such a good girl with my potty training that I now get more freedom within my own bedroom. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my room. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do! I only have about a mile in me before I am spent, but the outside world is exciting. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Well, I personally wouldn’t call it a “bad habit” so much as a super power! I am really small and like to take advantage of my small stature to squeeze into places that I shouldn’t be, or out of places that I SHOULD be! The humans have figured me out, though, and they protect me from my adventures. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am! I go to the door to let foster mom know I need to potty. But I will need you to teach me where to potty at your house, so please be patient! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to hydrate. I am a water drinking champion. But do I like getting wet? What do they say about gremlins? That’s what my foster mom says about me. I have had a few baths…they were awful. 0/10 don’t recommend. The treats and towel dry after the baths *almost* make them worth it. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They love me and play with me and feed me and take me for walks… It’s all for me! I will be forever grateful that they took me in and taught me to be the very best version of me. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t remember much about it, really. All I know is that an amazing Good Samaritan found me running down the street. I wasn’t feeling well, and they helped nurse me back to health. Then NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me into their care to help me find the perfect family that will love me forever. Will you take me home with you? **PEACHES’ ADOPTION FEE IS $750** If you are interested in PEACHES please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi there! I am Zinnie! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a super cute little girl! HOW OLD ARE YOU? Hmm… my best guess is around one year old as of mid-2025. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh around 17 pounds. Perfect, right? WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? Adorable isn’t even enough to adequately describe my cuteness. I have a GORGEOUS merle coat that is so soft, you will want to pet me constantly. My foster mom calls me a little snow leopard! I love that description! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I mostly eat kibble with a little wet food mixed in just for fun. I play with blueberries a little bit because they’re kind of like a ball, as far as I can tell. I’ll tell you more about my love affair with balls later! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? My personality is the best! I am such an easygoing girl. I am always happy and just love to be loved. If you give me belly rubs, I’ll be your best friend! I absolutely ADORE playing with a ball. I carry my ball around and fall asleep with it in my mouth most of the time. It is my favorite thing in the whole world! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY I wake up happy and love a good play session after my morning potty and breakfast. Of course, that play session will definitely involve chasing the ball around! I can’t see it, but boy oh boy is it fun to chase that little rascal around the yard! I take naps in between play sessions and meals throughout the day like a good little girl. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Ummmm… I think we covered this already, right? Ball is life, of course! Let’s go play! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I am really smart, so I can learn whatever you teach me. My most impressive talent right now is that I sit my little booty down after I go potty and then make a beeline directly for the treat jar to get my “good girl” treat. It’s really cute, if I do say so myself! WHAT SCARES YOU? I’m pretty brave, actually. I am open to trying new things, although it is probably good if we have a consistent setup for my water and food bowls, furniture, and the toy box so I don’t have to sniff too hard to find them. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have been around my foster family’s young granddaughter and I like her a lot. But I should probably just be around older children. I sometimes try to grab my toy while we play tug and don’t realize it is not in your hand, so a young child might get scared if it seems like I am biting. I’m really not biting, I’m just not sure where the toy is at that moment! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I have not been around cats. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like dogs, but I should be in a home with a dog that is patient and tolerant of me when I am a little bit of a pest. Hey, don’t judge! I haven’t had that much exposure to other dogs and it is all very new. Please make sure you set me up for success with slow introductions! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere that you are, as long as you bring my ball with us! If there are belly rubs and a ball, I will be a happy little nugget! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Well, first of all, I am blind. Yup, you read that right. But it does not slow me down a bit. I like to say that I can do anything that other dogs can do, except see! I am running, playing, chasing my ball, and getting around the house without a problem. I’m all over it! I’ve got some eye drops that the doctor wants me to have long term to help my eyes stay healthy overall, but that is the only medical treatment I need. My foster mom thinks I might be a little hard of hearing, too, but I am responsive to loud claps or commands. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, their two resident dogs, and one other foster Frenchie. My best friend is definitely my foster mom. She takes such good care of me, teaching me how to be a good girl and how to navigate around the house like a pro. I love to follow her around wherever she goes! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am so cozy and comfortable in my very own crate! It’s my happy space. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep through the night like a little angel in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Enh, I’m not a huge fan of the leash. It is a little bit much to be out there with all those smells overwhelming my nose! I am alright with short walks in cool weather, but I tend to get tired and overheat easily, so let’s not push it, okay? DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I sometimes find myself in spots that foster mom says I should not be in. I try to tell her I’m just checking things out, but she tells me to “get out of there!” and I am a good girl, so I do it. And I tend to walk really close to my humans, which means I am often right underfoot and might trip them up or get myself stepped on if they don’t know I’m there! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes! I have only had one accident inside. I have a regular routine so I am going potty outside consistently throughout the day. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I am all about drinking water (who isn’t, right?), and I am a very good girl in the bath. I should definitely not be around a pool or other body of water, though. Frenchies just aren’t built for water activities, and the fact that I am not able to see makes it especially important to keep me safe from that stuff. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? What’s not to love? They took me in when I needed a safe place to stay, and they have shown me what it feels like to be treasured and loved. They have taught me that I am deserving of a life full of toys and food and belly rubs and balls. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? That’s a good question, but I don’t have much of an answer. All I know is that I was at a shelter, which was no fun at all. I couldn’t see anything and it was pretty scary and confusing. But I stayed strong until NorCal Bully Breed Rescue came for me, and they got me out of that place and into my wonderful foster home. Now that I have been here for a while, I am ready to find my forever home so I can have more fun new experiences. Will you show me what life is like with a family of my own? **ZINNIE’S’ ADOPTION FEE IS $500** If you are interested in ZINNIE, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
