You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Mía! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a very pretty girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on March 21, 2022! WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh 29 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a blue merle, so my coat is swirl of grey and white! My beautiful hazel eyes are quite mesmerizing, but my main showstopper is my adorable floppy left ear! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love food and would eat anything I'm given. However, I have some allergies to chicken and other poultry products. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am perky and energetic! I love to play with my ball or curl up on the couch for cuddle time. I love love LOVE being with my humans! And I have the MOST fun hanging out in the yard chasing the squirrels around. One day I just KNOW I am going to catch up to one of them! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is eat, play, sleep, cuddle on repeat! Throw in a car ride and I’m in heaven! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My favorite toy is my ball. I have such a good time chasing that around! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know "sit" so far! And I know to go to my crate when it's time to eat or sleep. WHAT SCARES YOU? I have a case of FOMO (fear of missing out) but that's about all so far. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes! My foster parents have grandchildren that come over and we have super fun sleepovers! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven't met a cat. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like them a lot, big or small! Especially playing keep away with toys! It's my favorite game! Though since I can be a toy hog, slow introductions are important. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere with a human who loves me, whether it is cuddling on the couch or on a fun outing… I just want to be with my people. And I do love going on outings! I’m the BEST companion on car rides. Let’s go! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m an IVDD survivor! I have recovered amazingly from surgery and just have a little wobble when I walk. So I use soft stairs to go up and down the couch, and I avoid hard stairs. And I do have those pesky allergies, so we gotta pay attention to what I eat so I don’t get the itchies. Typical Frenchie, right? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents and two resident bulldogs. Some little humans come over sometimes and I love to hang out with them SO much! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang in my x-pen area or an extra large crate. I have enough room to stretch my legs WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I am a good girl in my crate, but I mostly love sleeping in the big bed with the humans. That’s the BEST! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I’m pretty great on leash and love going on walks and adventures! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Apparently, I am not supposed to show humans how happy I am to see them by jumping up on them as a greeting? Go figure, huh? I’m working on it, but I just love everyone so much! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am SUCH a good girl! I have used a doggy door before and, when there isn’t a doggy door, I know to go to the door and wait for someone to let me out. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I LOVE to slurp it, not sure how I would feel about a splash pad on a hot day, but I’m willing to try it out when the weather warms up! No swimming pools for me. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They make me feel safe and loved, and give me so many toys to play with! IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I would like to find a home with someone who will love me and show me what it feels like to be a treasured part of a family. That sounds amazing! **MIA'S ADOPTION FEE IS $750.** If you are interested in adopting MIA, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Harley! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a lovely young lady. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on August 16, 2023. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh 25 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a double merle, so my very soft coat is white with swirls of brownish grey. My beautiful blue eyes make me look surprised at all times. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love food and would eat anything I'm given. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am very happy, content, and loving! I love to cuddle with my humans or the other dogs I live with. I'm very gentle and super chill. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day includes eating, hanging out with a chew toy, sunbathing, more eating, and one million belly rubs. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My Benebone (chew toy) is what I love most! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? No tricks, all treats! I know to go to my crate for bedtime and mealtimes! I'm deaf, so my foster is trying to teach me signs for things. WHAT SCARES YOU? Nothing! Helps to be deaf, loud noises like fireworks don't bug me! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes! I don't live with any, but visitors come often and children love me and I love them. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven't met a cat. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like them all! I live with five other dogs currently and we all get along great. My foster mom says I am very dog friendly! We all mainly nap or sunbathe together. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere with a human who loves me, whether it is cuddling on the couch or on a fun outing, I'm great on car rides! I just want to be with my people. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I'm generally pretty healthy, though I am on an inexpensive daily medication for a heart condition that can be found in every dog breed. It's mild, and I don't have any symptoms. And since I'm pretty chill, I'm not stressing it out. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with three human adults and five other canine companions. My favorite is whoever lets me lay in their laps for cuddles. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I happily hang in my crate. I'm very content and quiet when hanging out in there. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I also happily sleep in my crate. I even walk myself in there throughout the day because it's comfy in there. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I’m pretty decent on leash and love going on walks! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Nope! My foster mom says I'm pretty great. I almost never bark, except that one time I saw squirrel army in the backyard. I'm also not a chewer, unless it's my benebone. I'm seriously pretty great! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am SUCH a good girl! I quickly learned how to use a doggy door! Or if it's blocked, I go to the backdoor when I need to go out. I never have accidents in my crate or in the house. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to drink it! And I will drink out of a hose like a GenX 80s kid, but I won't be swimming in it. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They give me extra cuddles and treats and make me feel safe. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I would like to find a home with someone who will spoil me of course and see my deafness as a superpower! **Harley’s adoption fee is $750 (for: spay surgery, hearing test, echocardiogram, current vaccines, microchip, monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention) If you are interested in adopting Harley, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! My name is Frankie! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am an adorable little girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in early 2025. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I'm a compact 18-pound little peanut. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a beautiful chocolate-colored coat with fawn accents and the most adorable speckled legs and face. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I LOVE food. Love it! But my foster parents make sure I am healthy, so I only eat puppy food, and sometimes I get treats for training. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a fun-loving playful puppy! I play, nap, play, and nap again. And I am a cuddle bug who will never pass up a cozy lap to curl up in. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Every day is perfect to me right now! Everything is fun and exciting, even though it is the same thing I did the day before. I play with my dog friends, I have lots of naps and cuddles with the humans, and I get to lounge around baking in the sunshine. If any of that sounds like it would work for you, then my days would be even more perfect with you in my forever home! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love all kinds of toys, but stuffies are my favorite. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I have magic powers! I can instantly make your world so much more full of love and fun with one look at my cute little face. Does that count? WHAT SCARES YOU? I’m not afraid of anything! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I’ve been around my foster mom's toddler grandson. I love him so much! Since I am young and excited for a little human playmate, foster mom makes sure to watch us together so we are both safe. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I've never met a cat, so I'm really not sure! HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love all the dogs I've ever met. My foster brother and sister, both frenchies, are some of my best friends! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? If I could be anywhere, it would be with my humans and, ideally, with one or more dog friends to play with. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy! I did have cherry eye in both eyes when I came to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue, but I had surgery to repair them and I am doing great now! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, their two French bulldogs, and my sister, Fern, who was rescued with me. I love them all, but Fern is my closest companion. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I have a puppy pen that I hang out in with my sister! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep like a little angel in my pen. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I am learning to love it! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I'm a jumper when I greet people. I just want to be where all the action is and I love people SO much! My foster parents are helping me work on keeping my paws on the ground. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? With consistency and patience, I am figuring out the whole potty situation. I am young and learning is a process, but I am doing really well for my age. I will continue to improve with time. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I should not be participating in any water sports, that’s for sure! I am a Frenchie, which means I am better on land than in the water. Please keep me safe! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster mom and dad love to play with us as much as they love to snuggle! My favorite is a long nap in a human lap after a play session. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I’m SO ready to enjoy the rest of my life with my forever family! I would love to come home with you. Let’s do this! ** FRANKIE’S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 500** If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Popeye is a wonderful dog and has been a part of our family since we started dating. But as our family has grown, it has become increasingly difficult to care for him as he ought to be cared for. We would love to find someone to rehome Popeye who can love him in his last stage of life.
