Story
Zoey is a beautiful sable German Shepherd female. Zoey was a stray and we unfortunately do not know her history but Zoey is happily looking forward to having a family of her own.    Zoey is a playful and rambunctious girl. Her favorite activities include playing in muddy ponds, getting all the love, and inappropriately barking at unknown dogs and people. Zoey is learning how to navigate the world and make new human friends. While Zoey can be a very friendly and social girl she is at a critical point in her life known as the 'fear period' and can struggle with reactivity when meeting new people. It is extremely important that Zoey have a confident, experienced, handler that can compassionately guide her through the safe socialization she needs in order to learn how to navigate the world kindly. Zoey is very much a puppy and while eager to please she is still figuring out what is expected of her and how to rise to those expectations. Zoey has been great meeting volunteers with the guidance of her foster home and with those she knows is a very loving, playful girl. She has enjoyed going on hikes around private property and exploring ponds and mud puddles. Zoey is an active and athletic girl who is going to require ongoing exercise and structure to ensure her growth into a well rounded adult Shepherd. Zoey would be a great running companion, hiking buddy, and would likely excel in a number of dog sports. Zoey is NOT suitable for a home with children at this time.    Zoey is still figuring out other dogs and how to interact in a polite manner. Zoey can be very vocal when she meets new dogs and was defensive with other dogs when she arrived at her foster home. She has since settled in and is able to enjoy playgroups with other young Shepherds as well as group hikes. Zoey is slowly figuring out that she can play appropriately and doing a great job. Zoey will require ongoing structured socialization and guidance to maintain her progress as she is at an age of development where her socialization both in and out of the house is vital. Zoey is NOT friendly with cats or small dogs as she has shown a very high prey drive with both.    Zoey is a young, eager to please, and outgoing Shepherd who is searching for an active, loving, and adventurous home to give her the guidance and love she needs to grow into an even more wonderful companion. If you're the home for Zoey please email Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 10:01 am

Story
Charcuterie is a beautiful female German Shepherd estimated around 2 years of age. Charcuterie was found as a stray with her litter of 9 puppies in Eastern Kentucky and we unfortunately do not know anything about her history prior to arrival at the shelter. Charcuterie has been a wonderful momma and is now ready to find a home to pamper her.    Charcuterie is one of the sweetest, most easy-going gals. She is clearly used to being on her own and is not one to be demanding of her people - she is just happy to be able to hang out inside or shadow you wherever you are. Charcuterie is still coming out of her own shell in a lot of ways now that she is no longer caring for her puppies. She hasn't yet shown any interest in toys but has come to appreciate a good butt scratch. She is a generally well-mannered girl both in and out of the house. Despite the stress landing in the shelter and then traveling to rescue with her puppies Charcuterie has stayed kind and loving through it all.    Charcuterie is pretty unbothered by other dogs. She hasn't fully got the grasp of the 'play' part of 'play group' but she is happy to hang out regardless. She navigates new dogs well and is respectful and neutral when meeting. Charcuterie has recently begun having issues with the cats in her foster home and is NOT recommended for a home with cats or small animals.   Charcuterie is looking for a family of her own to give her the TLC she needs. Story
Lilith is a stunning female sable German Shepherd estimated around two years of age. She was found as a stray with her assumed brother, Bullet, before making her way to us.    Lilith is a wicked smart, eager to please girl who has done great meeting new people. She is a little more focused on how to become Queen of the World than on cuddles... If motivated boss girls are your thing Lilith is a perfect fit. She really is the brains of any operations she finds herself in and would love to apply her organizational skillset to your home.    Lilith has done well with other dogs and is pretty tolerate of big, silly male dogs likely thanks to Bullet. She retains her boss queen energy in playgroups but is easily reined in if her fun police attitude gets out of hand.    Lilith is a smart girl who is looking for a home to lord over. If you have a throne available to her please email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 10:01 am

Story
Chip is a handsome, chatty male German Shepherd mix around 6.5 years of age. Chip was originally with our rescue in 2019 as a puppy and was adopted by a young couple. Unfortunately, they returned Chip 6 years later due to life changes and Chip is now looking for his next fur-ever.    Chip is a talkative boy who likes to channel his inner hound to sing you the song of his people. He is pretty sure he is speaking English and the humans are just not on his level. Chip was not socialized much outside of his home unfortunately so he can be a bit reserved meeting new people but he was raised with children and warms up to them much quicker. His current BFF is a teenager who he happily shadows during their chores - apparently sassy dogs and teens speak the same language.    Chip has lived with other dogs his whole life but is a total trouble-maker during play groups or high energy moments. He is a perpetual annoying little brother who likes to chew on his fur-siblings legs, collars, and ears. Most other dogs don't appreciate that and Chip is not great at reading the cues so he either requires very patient siblings or a human to remind him to stop pestering. Chip has never lived with cats to our knowledge and is not currently cat tested.    Chip is a forever puppy who is looking for a new home to adventure with - he is seeking long talks, jaunts through the woods, and butt scratches. If you're the home for Chip email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for an adoption application    * Chips puppy picture is the last in his reel *Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 10:01 am

Story
Sammy is an handsome oaf of a German Shepherd estimated around 1 year of age. Sammy was a stray so we have no history or past beyond his arrival at the shelter.   Sammy is an energetic, bouncy boy who is all legs and overgrown puppy. He loves people and is a social butterfly happy to soak up all the attention you have to offer. Sammy is a generally goofy dude whose body moves significantly faster than his brain - to be honest, I am not sure his brain is ever caught up. Sammy might not be the brains of the operations but he brings enthusiasm to everything he does. Sammy has been around children 7+ years of age and adores them. However, he is a big, bouncy dog and would do best with kids that are comfortable with large dogs.   Sammy is pretty ignorant when it comes to other dogs but is slowly but surely figuring it out. He can adjust to new dogs and is learning how to play but it can be a rough start. He is pretty sure the appropriate way to greet new canine friends is with a body slam.... It doesn't often work in his favor but under the guidance of some very patient resident dogs he is figuring out some better communication skills. Sammy would do well in a home with other dogs given the guidance and patience of a slow introduction. He certainly loves having someone to run with in the yard but would be just as happy accompanying his human on jogs or hikes.    Sammy is a sweet dude who is seeking a family that will give him the training, guidance, and adventure a rambunctious young Shepherd needs. If you're the home for Sammy email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 10:01 am

Story
Mista Sprinkles is a handsome adult male German Shepherd estimated around 6 years of age. Sprinkles was found as a stray therefore we do not know his history, or background, prior to arriving at the shelter. However, we know this beautiful boy is ready to find a family of his own.   Mista Sprinkles is a social, friendly, and outgoing boy who lights up when he meets new people. He can come on a bit strong - it is hard to contain your excitement sometimes! - but is a generally polite, well mannered boy. Sprinkles seems to be familiar with the trappings of pampered life and has displayed good house manners, car riding skills, and crate training in his foster home. He isn't as fond of the confines of the leash but is coming around to more settled walks. Sprinkles has not been around young children while with us but has done great with the teenagers in his foster home. He would like do well with any kids that are comfortable with large, goofy dogs.   Mista Sprinkles has done well with other dogs in that confident, "Let's all be cool", sort of way. He hasn't been too interested in playing or romping but is happy to co-exist with other chill, peaceful dogs. Unfortunately, he displayed a bit too much drive meeting cats and at this time is NOT considered a good addition for a home with cats or small animals.    Mista Sprinkles is a sweet, kind-hearted, boy who is looking for his soft place to land with lots of love, scratches, and good nap spots. Story
Meet Tyg (Tygrys) PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FAR & WIDE. TYG DESERVES HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER! Poor Tyg will have been at the kennel for 2 years this June. He's a favorite with regular kennel volunteers. Once he gets to know you he's a big 100 lbs loving teddy bear.  Most people don't come to a Golden Retriever rescue looking for an Anatolian Shepherd mix, which is why Tyg is still with us. Anatolians are very protective of their flock and family. If you know anyone with Anatloian Shepherd experience looking for a fantastic dog, please get in touch with GRRAND. .  Sadly, Tyg has been at the GRRAND kennel for over a year. The kennel volunteers recently had a pool party to celebrate Tyg's one-year anniversary at the kennel - he got to swim, eat doggie cake, and of course, get dressed up! Tyg is a 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix who came to GRRAND in 2019 as a 3-month-old puppy. He was adopted by a couple who sadly had to return him in June 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances. He was so sad and would sit by the fence looking for his people to return. He is now settled at the kennel and is certainly a volunteer favorite! Once he decides you are okay, you will be his best bud - but it takes him a while to warm up to new people. He will try and squeeze his 100+ lb body on a chair with you for hugs and kisses. The volunteers love to dress him up and he never complains; the perfect model! He loves the pool and gets to go for a swim every day in the summer. He is very well trained on the leash and loves to go for walks, but he does have a tendency to lunge at large trucks and vans so he needs a strong hand to keep him under control. Tyg is a special boy. He is extremely sweet, loyal and protective of his people. We believe it's best for Tyg to go to a home with an experienced dog owner, no other pets and no children, ideally with a large fenced yard he can patrol, and few outside visitors. Please open your heart and home for this wonderful boy. He will repay you with an abundance of love and loyalty. #anatolianshepherd #anatolianshepherdmix #belgianmalinois #belgianmalinoislovers #belgianmalinoisofinstagram GRRAND trainers have promised Tygrys that they will educate the right family on how to handle a breed like his. If you would like to meet Tyg, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   ##1734296##
