Zuko is a 5 year old, 85lb German Shepherd from Agawam, MA. He is a sweet boy who found himself in need of a new home due to unfortunate circumstances in our extended family. Zuko is a big love bug who is happy to stretch out next to you in bed. He wants to be your shadow and loves his person once he’s found someone he trusts. He LOVES squeaky toys and greets his favorite people with a big squeak, squeak. He doesn’t tear his stuffies up, but lovingly carries them around. If you say “go for a ride” he does the most adorable head tilt and is ready to go! Zuko is a super smart boy. He knows several basic commands, is fully house trained, and is eager to learn. Zuko has some anxiety that can cause him to be impulsive in situations he feels are stressful. This should be a focus area for training. He is largely unsocialized and untested with other animals. His ideal owner can give him structure, training and consistent boundaries. Zuko is ready to thrive!

Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. This family has the momma dog along with her (4) one year old “puppies,” including Sasha Blue. The family is overwhelmed with the 5 large dogs and must surrender the 4 “puppies,” including Sasha Blue. Sasha Blue is gentle and friendly with her family, but she is not well socialized and is fearful with new people and situations. Watch her video. Good with other dogs, not cat tested. Great with kids and gentle with the family’s 3 young children. Medium-high energy level outside, settles down quickly inside. Mostly living outside in the fenced backyard. Housebroken. Friendly, sweet temperament, a little tentative at first with new people and situations, typical shepherd temperament. Woody is selective about his dog friends and would probably enjoy being the only dog. He’s friendly and non-aggressive with the cats on the other side of the fence. Fine with kids and recommended for dog savvy children 10 years and older. Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands. Loves to be with his people. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. When he first came to us, Woody had heartworms, but he was treated without complications and cured and is now ready for adoption. To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Dax is an 8 month old male German Shepherd Dog mix who was rescued from the streets of Memphis. Dax is becoming comfortable in his foster home, his foster mom believes this is his first experience living inside and he likes it! He’s a little unsure around new people and new situations (see his video) but warms up quickly. Appears to be good with other dogs, foster mom has observed him in brief meetings with other dogs and he shows no signs of aggression. No history with kids, but would probably be fine with older dog savvy kids. Very active outside, settles down quickly in the house, good house manners. Affectionate with his people and loves to cuddle. Crate trained and housebroken. Not yet good on the leash, but we’re working on it. Rides great in the car. Estimated DOB is 12-1-25. Weighs about 50 pounds. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots. Dax’s ideal adopter will understand that Dax needs further further socialization and obedience training in order to be a good pet. This is potentially a very nice young GSD mix who will make an awesome companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. Here’s a note from his foster mom: Dax is crate trained and housebroken. He makes it abundantly clear when he wants out of the crate to go outside, standing there pawing at the door while I get the leash and unlock the door for him. He likes to know where 'his human' is at all times and follows me from room to room. He whines when I step out of his sight and stops immediately when I reappear. He likes to play tug of war with his toys, knows how to fetch, we’re still working on “release” but he likes to chase it down and then repeatedly throws it into the air himself so he can catch it again and again. His favorite toy is his stuffed green squeaky frog which you can see in the video. If Dax finishes all his food and is still hungry, he will repeatedly pick up the empty bowl and either drop it in the crate or hit it against the bars of the crate while whining at me. He’s curious about other dogs and will stop and watch them from across the street, but doesn't seem to be alpha or aggressive. If they come close enough, he seems friendly, will sniff and try to play with them. I have 4 cats and they’re terrified of him because he’s such a big, active puppy. Therefore, he’s not recommended for cats because, although I think he doesn’t intend to hurt them, he’s just too big and fast and active. I think he’s likely as scared of the cats as they are of him, but I’m not going to 'test that theory.' The only thing I’m basing that on is the fact that two of the cats have hissed and slapped at him when he got 'too close' (while he was on a leash) and he jumped back toward me and started whining.
