Story
Meet Brutus: The 70‑lb Baby With the World’s Cutest Ears Do you believe in gentle giants? Do you believe a dog can be both massive and also a marshmallow? Do you believe one pup can single‑pawedly carry around every toy in a room? If so… Brutus is ready to be your guy. Brutus is a 1‑year‑old, 70‑pound sweetheart with the softest soul and the biggest heart (and possibly the biggest ears). Don’t let his size fool you—Brutus is truly a big baby wrapped in fur. He came to the shelter as a puppy and was sadly returned when his family didn’t expect him to grow into, well… Brutus-sized. But this lovable Scooby‑look‑alike never let that dull his shine. This toy‑obsessed goofball lives for playtime. Balls, squeakies, plushies—you name it, he’ll proudly carry it around like his prize treasure. And if you’re impressed easily? Perfect. Brutus LOVES showing off his favorites. He’s a total social butterfly and has a blast romping around with other dogs. Playgroups? Yes please. Friends? Even better. Toys in playgroups? Peak happiness. Brutus is also very clear about one thing: 👉 He knows his name. 👉 He loves his name. 👉 He would like to keep his name. (We respect the king’s wishes.) All Brutus wants now is a loving, active family with a fenced yard where he can zoom, play, trot with his toys, and hang out with his humans. He cannot wait to bring laughter, cuddles, and some serious ear‑flop action into his forever home. If you’re ready for joy, goofiness, loyalty, and a whole lot of love, apply now and make Brutus your new best buddy. Scooby‑fans, gentle‑giant lovers, and toy collectors—your dog has arrived. If interested in Brutus, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com. Story
Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Looking for some light in your life? Consider Hardy! This gorgeous, big boy is absolutely stunning with a big, bubbly personality and an even bigger heart. His joyful, playful energy is guaranteed to light up your days. He was off to a rough start when he was found on the streets of Houston with a broken shoulder. But those sad days are behind him now. We had his shoulder surgically repaired and he is now happy and active and ready for his forever home! He’s making great progress in learning leash skills and is picking up a few basic commands with ease. He’s very smart and responds well to guidance. He soaks up being doted on and will lean in for more pets. He loves being with people and has an adorable affinity for toys. He displays all the qualities that will make him a fantastic companion – loving, attentive, intelligent, loyal and playful (with a goofy side to keep you smiling). He enjoys belly rubs and give him a toy and he’ll entertain you as much as he’ll entertain himself. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, consider this lover boy. NO CATS. Fenced in yard a must. Hardy is neutered, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. He's estimated to be around 5 years old and weighs 105 lbs. If interested in this amazing boy, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent. Foster homes greatly increase the chances of speedier adoptions and you'd be making a huge, positive difference in the life of an animal who needs you.

Curious about the world around him and takes excellent pictures as he likes to pose. Pluto is very snuggly and loves to play with his litter mates and toys. He's gonna make an exceptional companion for a family. Currently he is located in Arkansas, but transport is available to New England. His adoption fee is $500 and that covers the cost of transport.
