Story
My friend got two lovely purebred puppies (born 4/27/2023) from a breeder friend. But his wife doesn’t like dogs and they are having a huge fight at home. To save marriage, he has to let the dog go. The female puppy is gone and only the male puppy left. Purebred German shepherd, super smart. Loves people and have great a personality.

Story
This spunky girl is Mabel! She`s looking for dedicated adopters who are excited about training and helping this girl find an outlet for all her goofy puppy energy. She`s still learning the ropes when it comes to manners, but Mabel is a smart girl who`s ready to work for treats and learn to be the best girl she can be. She would thrive with a family who can give her the time and patience she needs to get settled into a new environment. She has been working on crate training and enjoys daily enrichment here at the shelter, and it would be best to continue these in the home. Any kids in the home should be sturdy and ready for a silly pup who hops around like a bunny! She enjoys a good wrestling match with her dog pals and has a rough, fast-paced playstyle, and we think she`d love a dog sibling or two who wouldn`t mind an annoying younger sister to be a role model to. Story
Make sure you have a dog friend at home before you invite Marty to the party because he definitely needs a buddy at home that he can be a shadow to. And the invitation list to this party will need to be very short as in household members only, since this 8 month old cutie is a super shy, worried boy. Although he may never be a social butterfly, he has all the potential to become a wonderful family dog. A low traffic home, where there are not different people in and out, is the ideal environment for him to blossom. Adopters should plan on giving Marty however much time he needs to settle in at his new home without having to meet anyone that doesn`t live with him or go anywhere. This is called decompression time, which is extremely important for dogs that have had many transitions in a short time. Marty needs this time to adjust to household living, bond with his humans and his family needs time to see what makes him feel most comfortable and safe. He should have a safe confinement area where he can go to relax and rest whenever he needs a break. A resident dog friend is a must for this good boy, a cat buddy is a maybe and any kids in the family will need to have great shy dog skills and not overwhelm him as he transitions to the home. If you think your home may be a great fit and you`d love to help a deserving young dog find his happy ever after, please stop by the shelter to talk to staff. **Marty is currently in a foster home and first requires a conversation with staff prior to setting up an in-person meet!Tuesday-Sunday 12-3p

Like, I LOVE LOVE to play & want another *MALE* doggo to roughhouse with. Do you have a boy dog that likes to play & has lots of energy? I'm your girl to play with him! Also, I love being around teenage guys & men! As you can see in my video, I'm super lovey & very into my new friend who comes to visit me at my foster home! As you can see in my pictures, I'm a muscular & athletic girl (I work on my fitness!). I'd make a great active buddy for you; we could go on long hikes or walks, go to the park & play, or wherever you'd like to go! I'm pretty sure you'll fall in love with me immediately, so get that application in asap! I can't wait to meet you & be your best friend! Story
Are you so sick of spending your days on the couch? Do you wish you had a jogging buddy to go on adventures with? Look no further! Jumping into scene is our friend Hazel! She is a 3 year old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix looking for an active household to try to keep up with her. Hazel has lots of energy and enjoys going for walks. Her favorite thing to do though? Roll on her back! Grass? Dirt? Carpet? Tile? She's on her back, rolling around, having the time of her life. She would love you to rub her belly, and sit in the sun with her between bursts of energy.Given her breed mix and personality, we are looking for adopters that have experience owning working breeds. Hazel will need a home that gives her a job, stimulates her mind, and gives her plenty of exercise. Hazel has a very busy mind and nervous personality, so her adopters will need to be prepared to go slowly with her as you all get to know each other. She could live with teens+ that have dog experience. Hazel is dog tolerant, and may be able to live with a calm dog that does not need a playmate. We are unsure how Hazel would do living with a cat. Are you ready to have the best busy dog? Follow the steps below to come meet her!Our shelter is open every day from 12-4, closed on Mondays. If you are interested in this pet, please call us at 978-452-7781, email info@lowellhumanesociety.org, or stop by the shelter to request an adoption application.
