Story
Meet Deja! I am a shepherd mix with a shepherd heart…. times 10. I am guarded with strangers and need a home who will accept my “family is life” motto. I have been fostered with dogs and kids, but I’m not looking for outsiders to be my BFFs. I would do best with a family who lives in a country setting or who has a privacy fence. Truly I am a great dog, but my heart is big and it’s for my family only. If you have a low key household and want sweet, but loyal to only her own kind of gal, fill out an application at www.ccrcdogs.com We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   December 2, 2023, 7:00 am

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET CRIMSON: Crimson is a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy (estimated DOB 7/24/2023). Him and his brother, Clover, ended up in an overcrowded shelter when their owner passed away unexpectedly. These puppies are very sweet but will need strong leadership, and someone active and experienced in the breed. A fenced yard is strongly recommended, and an active family to keep up with his puppy antics. Crimson is currently working on his house training and crate training, but still does have the occassional accident so he will need someone patient and understanding. These puppies are being cared for in a foster home and have begun enjoying all the positive things that life has to offer - including reliable and nutritional meals, a warm bed, love and affection! Puppies are a lot of work and they can lead to sleepless nights while crate training and they are prone to chewing. German Shepherd dogs are not suitable for an apartment, mobile home or condo lifestyle based on the breed. Crimson has been socialized with other dogs and older children, and has had short interactions with cats. He would not be an ideal fit for a home with older dogs as he will have too much energy for a senior. Crimson is a handsome pup with an amazing personality that is sure to make a great addition to some lucky family! We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET JUNIPER: This sweet 4 month old pup is a German Shepherd mix, weighing in at 9lbs and growing. Although she may not look like your typical GSD, Juniper is unique and beautiful, turning heads wherever she goes. She's also incredibly smart and a quick learner, which makes her ideal for a family looking for a new four-legged companion. Juniper has enjoyed romping around with other dogs at her foster home and would thrive in a household with a furry companion. However, her energy level may not make her an ideal fit for senior dogs. She's also met a cat and had no ill feelings towards feline friends.  Juniper would be great with dog-savvy children who are active and love spending time outdoors. As she continues to work on her house manners, a family with breed experience would be best suited for her. Juniper is not a good fit for an apartment, mobile home, or condo lifestyle. She needs space to run and play, so a home with a yard would be ideal. Overall, Juniper is the perfect addition to an active family who is looking for a loyal and loving pup to join them on adventures. With her sweet personality and quick wit, she'll easily win over your heart and become a beloved member of your family. Story
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FOSTERING THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE A FOSTER APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM/HELP/FOSTER. PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED - This is NOT an application for adoption! Puppies are cute and fun, but can also be loud, stinky and they get into everything! We are looking for foster homes in the northern Oakland County area (rescue is based out of Oakland Twp, just north of Rochester) that will foster puppies while we find them the best furever homes! Puppy fostering is very short lived as we trypically have a large amount of applications for our puppies. Foster parents will be required to take their foster pups to necessary vet appointments at one of our partner veterinary office (Clinton Twp, Sterling Heights and Rochester) for any necessary appointments or spay/neuter surgery. Foster parents will be responsible for keeping puppies safe from injesting foreign objects, jumping off of tall surfaces and providing them with a clean and healthy environment to prevent the spread of bacteria or parasites. There is an immediate need for puppy fosters! These puppies do NOT need to be fostered together.  Furever Tails Animal Rescue covers all the costs for the care of the animals in foster homes. We provide food, supplies and the medical costs required to ensure we are adopting out healthy and happy pets! Fosters are not required to continue fostering for any specified amount of time, and if foster parents fall in love with their foster pet then they have the first option to adopt!  Furever Tails Animal Rescue is based out of northeast Oakland County. Our vet offices are located in Clinton Twp, Sterling Heights and Rochester. It would be ideal if the foster home was within range of our approved vet offices in case of medical emergencies or basic preventative care. Fostering is such a rewarding experience! Many of the lives we save are those in great risk of being euthanized for no fault of their own. Saving a life can be as easy as opening your home for a temporary period of time while we process applications for a lifelong furever home! Story
Edward's coat is so soft, not to mention gorgeous! He is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 60 pounds. Edward the explorer! He loves his leisurely walks, so inquisitive about the world and curious about everything. He walks so nicely on leash too and is a good listener. Edward is more of low-key guy, but ever so intelligent. He looks to you for guidance and really needs an experienced adopter who knows how to instill leadership. He is the type of dog that will need both physical and mental stimulation to thrive, you can see the wheels spinning in his head, taking in everything. Edward can’t wait to get out of this sometimes loud and scary kennel environment and have a family to love him. He may like more of a quieter home and any children need to be at least 13 years old, as he does have a shy nature. If you are interested in Edward and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*
