Story
Meet Gem the 3.5yr Shepherd/Husky! Unfortunately, Gem has had a terrible past. She was a victim of horrific animal abuse and has been spending the past several months healing from her injuries and trauma. Months ago, she was picked up unresponsive, starved almost to death (25lbs), anemic and unable to stand or even lift her head. She was rushed to the emergency vet, where she stayed for over a week requiring tube feeding, blood transfusions and other vital care. After months of recovery, she is now almost back to her normal happy, goofy and sweet self. We are currently in a case with her abusive owner, and we hope to see her held accountable for what she did. This has been such a heartbreaking and unimaginable case. We can’t wait for Gem to get her happy ever after! Gem is a happy, energetic and playful girl. She adores meeting new doggy friends and does great with pups of all shapes and sizes. She has had limited interactions with cats, however with proper introductions we think she would do well. At times, she can struggle with meeting new people, but with some treats she becomes everyone’s friend. Due to her past, she is working through a lot of trauma and learning how to be a dog again. She is looking for an experienced and patient family who is willing to continue building her confidence and working on gaining her manners back. Her biggest weakness is food. She must be watched closely to ensure she does not eat anything she is not supposed to. When not being watched, we highly suggest her being crated for her own safety. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence after a dog is starved. She has already made a lot of progress in this area but still needs more time to realize she will not be starved again and that these behaviors are not necessary or acceptable. Additionally, she has been working on her house training again. She has been doing great and has not had an accident in several weeks. We do suggest that she is taken out very frequently, to keep her on the right track. Lastly, Gem can struggle with separation anxiety at times and tends to bark when she can’t be a part of what’s going on. Due to this, we do not feel like she would be a great candidate for apartment living. Gem is up to date on vaccines, spayed, HW- and microchipped. She is crate trained and listens well to basic commands. Despite all of the things she is working on relearning, Gem has a heart of gold! She is such a loyal, resilient and energetic gal. She would love to join an energetic family who can show her the love and understanding she deserves.

Story
Jasmine is a 2 year old German Shepherd who is highly intelligent, energetic, and very sweet. She currently weighs about 75 lbs and has a beautiful sable stock coat. You may recall we pulled Jasmine into our rescue when she was deteriorating from the stress of animal control, because we knew we could provide her with the structure and environment to support her rehabilitation. And now it's her time to shine! Jasmine would make a loving companion and is eager to learn. She is currently progressing through our training program with Unleashed Freedom K9 Academy where she is working on commands, structure, and boundaries to help her become a well-rounded and successful dog in a home environment. At this time, Jasmine is unable to live with other animals or children, although as we're working on this through her training, we will update as we have further developments! She has a great foundation to continue building on. -2 years old German Shepherd -75 lbs -Spayed, up to date on vaccines -Microchipped -Potty-trained -Adoption fee: $250 Although Jasmine is currently in progress of our training program, we are accepting applications NOW in hopes to line up her home to be ready when she graduates soon!! Story
Max was rescued at 1-1/2 (now 7years old). His owners were elderly and lived in a motor home. They could no longer take care of him. He was adopted by my daughter and 12 year old grandson. They also have a shiatsu and a Lhasa apso mix. Max fit right into the family. My daughter lost her home and she and her now 19-year-old son moved in with me (her mother). This was a temporary solution. The three dogs were included in this move. My daughter now has new housing which allows only 2 dogs and no large dogs. My grandson has moved in with friends and cannot bring Max. I promised to keep him until we found a good home for him. Max is a good dog and responds to some directions. He appears to be a very smart dog and is friendly once he becomes comfortable with strangers. This usually takes 10 minutes if you don't expect too much of him. He has never bitten any one while in our care. He is very protective and lets people know it with a growl. He needs someone who is active.

Story
My name is Duke, and I am a 5‑year‑old German Shepherd with a big heart, a sharp mind, and a very waggy tail. At my age, I am a calm, mature dog who still loves to play and explore, but I’m past the wild puppy stage and ready to focus on being someone’s loyal best friend. I am intelligent, confident, and steady, and that’s exactly how I behave, even when things around me are noisy or new. I listen carefully when humans talk, tilting my head, because I understand more than most people think and I want to do the right thing for them. I’m protective but gentle, the kind of dog who will bark to let you know someone is at the door, then relax when you tell me it’s okay. Because my breed is so trainable and eager to learn, I pick up new commands quickly and enjoy using my brain as much as my paws. I would love a family who understands that German Shepherds need both exercise and mental challenges, like learning tricks, sniffing games, or simple jobs around the house.
