Story
Sadly we adopted Luna Bear a week ago Feb 21 and she is not a good fit. Luna loves to cuddle and will even be a lab dog if allowed to be. She needs someone who can handle a powerful dog and wants to take her on walks. She sits on command well and seems willing to be trained. She knows other commands like come but doesnt always listen. She needs leash training because she pulls and can be too much to handle. She wants to play with our 2 cats but 1 of them is terrified. She has spent a lot of time in a crate and has to spend the night in it here because of the cat. We would prefer to find someone who can meet her needs. Original post: details Good with kids dogs cats Spayed Housetrained Shots current 4yo 73lbs She does great around kids but does bark a little. I wouldn't be selling her if I didn't have too..l'm just looking for a good family for her. The selling price isn't important, she must just go to a loving home.

Story
Meet Phil, the adventurous and affectionate teenager with a heart of gold! This brave and playful boy is always up for a good time and will keep you on your toes with his high energy and playful spirit. Phil is a smart and athletic pup who is eager to explore the world and make new friends, both human and canine. He is in his rambunctious youth, so positive reinforcement training is key to helping him grow into a well-behaved good boy. Phil is 1 year old (11/13/24), neutered, up to date on vaccine, house-trained and crate-trained. He knows sit, walks decent on a leash, and is great with other dogs and would like to have a canine house mate to play with! Phil is good with children over the age of 8 years old. No history on cats. Phil is a tall big boy at approximately 75-80 lbs. (we are struggling getting a good weight). With his charming personality and adorable looks, Phil is sure to capture the heart of anyone he meets. So, if you're looking for a fun-loving companion to join you on all your exciting journeys, Phil is the perfect pooch for you! Fill out our online application for preapproval to set up a meet and greet and let the adventures begin! https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet Gem the 4yr Shepherd/Husky! Gem has had a terrible past involving horrific abuse. She came into our care completely unresponsive, starved almost to death at 25lbs and unable to walk, stand or even lift her head. She had a lengthy stay at the emergency vet and required blood transfusions, tube feeding and months of rehabilitation following. Despite her terrible past, she is still a very happy, playful and sweet girl. She can't wait to find her happily ever after! Gem adores meeting new doggy friends and does great with pups of all shapes and sizes. She has had limited interactions with cats, however with proper introductions we think she would do well. At times, she can struggle with meeting new people, but with some treats she becomes everyone’s friend. Due to her past, she is working through a lot of trauma and learning how to be a dog again. She is looking for an experienced and patient family who is willing to continue building her confidence and working on gaining her manners back. Gem has made huge strides in her rehabilitation from abuse. She is now house trained and hasn’t had an accident in several months. We do suggest that she is taken out frequently to keep her on the right track. She can struggle with separation anxiety at times and tends to bark when she can’t be a part of what’s going on. Due to this, we do not feel like she would be a great candidate for apartment living. Lastly, she still has a weakness for food. She must be watched closely if her dog treats are easily accessible (or human food is left unattended). With this being said, she is crate trained and does best when crated during these instances or when unattended. On the flip side, being so treat motivated has been helping in her rehabilitation! Despite all of the things she is working on relearning, Gem has a heart of gold! She is such a loyal, resilient and energetic gal. She would love to join an energetic family who can show her the love and understanding she deserves. Gem is up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. She is house trained, crate trained, knows her basic commands and listens very well. Does Gem sound like a good fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!

Story
Rex is a resilient, affectionate boy with a heart as big as his incredible spirit 💛🐾 Born with congenital megaesophagus, Rex has learned that a little extra care just means a little extra love. He needs to be fed upright in a Bailey chair so his meals can safely reach his stomach — and he handles his special routine like an absolute champ. He thrives on a high-quality, nutrient-dense diet (currently The Farmer’s Dog), which has been working wonderfully for him. Rex will need lifelong management, including his upright feeding routine, possible medications, and regular veterinary checkups to help him feel his very best. While megaesophagus can shorten a dog’s lifespan, Rex refuses to let it define him or dull his joy. He greets each day with enthusiasm, a wagging tail, and an eagerness to be close to his people. He is a loving, social sweetheart who adores attention, companionship, and being part of the action. Rex is looking for a dedicated, compassionate adopter who can continue his care and give him the warm, supportive home he truly deserves. In return, he’ll give you unwavering love, resilience that inspires, and a bond that is nothing short of extraordinary. - Around 3 years 2 months old - Currently 71lbs - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com.
