Story
***Scout is in a foster home right now, so he is not at the kennel. If you are interested in him, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Hi, my name is Scout! I’m about 19 months old and weigh around 45 pounds. Everyone thinks I am possibly a Germen Shephard - Kelpie mix, but most definitely some type of herding dog! I had a ruff start in life which left me blind in one eye and 6 bb size shrapnel throughout my body. With the help of K9 volunteers and now being in a foster home, I’m living a dog’s life, I have love, companionship and structure. I continue to work hard and show improvement weekly on my manners, impulse control, leash walking and just “being a dog.” I’ve received a certificate for a Talent & Tricks Class I completed, I know, pretty awesome! Currently I’m attending a Beyond Basics Class thanks to my nice foster mom, she is doing so many fun things with me, and I just love it. Both my classes are from Paws Plus You, they just love me there. I do require daily activity to be my best self. Some of my favorites are walks, retrieving balls and toys, yard zoomies, doggy puzzles and agility just to name a few. My foster mom calls me Daisy, “Lazy Daisy” in the mornings while getting sunshine on the deck. She also says things like “good boy” and “that’s my boy” a lot. She is kind of big on kisses and hugs too, and I’m ok with that, who knew life could be this great. I have never had so much love before and it’s kind of wonderful! Oh, I almost forgot, I am potty and crate trained too in my foster home, I am sure to learn your routine in no time at all. I can’t wait to find my forever home. If you're looking for a best friend, I am right here, Scout! If you are interested in Scout and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Honey is an amazing dog. She is extremely smart, well trained, house trained, she is a pure breed German Shepherd that is almost 2 years old with a June birthday. I got Honey from a family who fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. She really is a great dog and it saddens me that I cannot devote the time to her with a young family. I would love to see her go to someone who can give her the home she deserves. Update as of 5.17.25. We have taken Honey to the vet and she is current on all of her shots. Additionally we have started her on her Flea, Tick and Heartworm treatment. She currently weighs 56lbs and I has a clean bill of health. We have her all ready for her new home!
