Story
Hello! I'm looking to find my wonderful dog a loving and safe home. I'm currently going through a difficult divorce (DV and financial abuse). My ex trashed our house and abandoned our dogs, then left the state this week while I was out of state for work on a contract. I'm unable to quite either one of my jobs due to having to pay for his health insurance until the divorce is finalized, and him wracking up debt in my name. I have until tomorrow afternoon to find a new home for Brisket. He's a two year old pit and shepered mix. 100% good boy. Loves people and other dogs. Loves hiking and swimming. He's completely potty trained, non-destructive. Doesn't counter surf. Knows a bunch of commands and he's crate trained. I crate trained so he would be okay with doggy daycare boarding and at the vet. He love's to cuddle, is super affectionate. He's used to free roaming in the backyard, occupying himself with his toys or chews or just laying outside on his elevated bed.

Story
Rex is a resilient, affectionate boy with a heart as big as his incredible spirit 💛🐾 Currently in a loving foster home, Rex is a 3+ year-old neutered German Shepherd, weighing about 74–75 pounds. Born with congenital megaesophagus, he’s learned that a little extra care simply means a little extra love—and he handles his routine like an absolute champion. Rex requires lifelong management, including eating several small, high-quality meals each day (he’s thriving on The Farmer’s Dog) while positioned upright on a step stool, along with medication twice daily—morning and late afternoon—and regular veterinary care. While megaesophagus can present challenges, Rex refuses to let it define him. He greets every day with joy, a wagging tail, and an eagerness to be close to his people. And what a companion he is. Rex is house trained, highly intelligent, and wonderfully well-behaved—so trustworthy he doesn’t even need to be crated when left alone. He doesn’t destroy things, rides beautifully in the car, and has a playful, goofy sense of humor that will keep you smiling. He absolutely thrives on attention and companionship. Aside from his special feeding needs (and skipping swimming), Rex can do just about anything a typical dog can—and more. He would excel in activities like agility, rally, or scent work. He already loves playing Hide-and-Seek with both people and his toys, and he’s incredibly good at it! His vocabulary is growing quickly, and his eagerness to learn makes him an amazing partner. Rex is looking for a dedicated, compassionate adopter who has the time and heart to continue his care and give him the loving, supportive home he deserves. In return, he’ll give you unwavering devotion, endless affection, and a bond that is truly one of a kind. Rex needs your help to find his forever home—and he’s ready to fill it with love. 🐾💛 - Around 3-3.5 years old - Currently just under 75lbs - Good with kids - Prefers to be the only animal in the home and soak up all the love - Adoption fee: $175 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Story
Dudley has been a great dog since the moment he arrived. He was the first born from an accidental litter we had before our female was able to be spayed. He's cuddly, he loves cheek rubs and belly rubs, loves car rides. His favorite way to play is fetch with two balls. He can be a little vocal at times, but it's how me communicates his needs. He recalls very well. He gets excited when he sees the leash but once he's in the car or actively walking he calms back down. He does climb up on furniture, but will get down when commanded. He's gotten along great with other dogs, smaller ones however may need a meet and greet. Also gets along with Cats and Children. He does have some food allergies that can cause skin irritation, however we've switched to a more natural Lamb and Rice (from Tractor Supply) formula that seems to work well for him. If you're looking for a loving companion who's happy to be by your side and loves to play, Dudley could be a perfect fit for you and your family.

Story
Meet Nimbus! This handsome 7-year-old pup weighs 87 pounds and is ready to find a family that can match his playful spirit. Don't let his age fool you. Nimbus still has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life! From the moment he entered his evaluation, he made his priorities clear by grabbing a toy and inviting everyone to play. This fun-loving boy enjoys interacting with people and will happily bring his favorite toys over when he's ready for another game. Nimbus is a smart, treat motivated dog who already knows several commands, including sit, down, and shake. He enjoys learning and engaging with his people, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training and enrichment activities. While he's often on the move and eager to explore, he's also a sweet, affectionate boy who enjoys attention and absolutely melts for a good ear scratch. Toys are one of Nimbus's greatest joys, especially balls. He loves to chase, catch, and proudly carry them around. During his evaluation, he happily entertained himself by working on a tough squeaky toy and showed that he's comfortable with people handling him and taking toys away. He may try to turn the interaction into a fun game of tug, but he's happy to trade for something even better. Nimbus walks fairly well on a leash and would thrive with regular exercise, mental stimulation, and opportunities to use his intelligent, working-dog mind. Because of his size, energy level, and working-breed traits, he would do best with an adopter who has experience with working breeds and understands their need for both physical and mental enrichment. Based on our evaluation, Nimbus will do best in an active home with adults or families with children ages eight and up due to his size and enthusiasm. He will thrive with a family that can provide regular exercise, enrichment, and continued training to keep both his body and mind engaged. We are happy to discuss introductions with any resident pets. If you think Nimbus could be the perfect addition to your family, visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application. This playful, intelligent gentleman is ready to find a home where he can enjoy his favorite toys, plenty of adventures, and all the ear scratches he deserves!
