Story
Meet Rex, a resilient and affectionate boy with a heart as big as his spirit. Rex was born with congenital megaesophagus, a condition that requires him to be fed upright in a Bailey chair so food can move safely into his stomach. He thrives on a high-quality, nutrient-dense diet—currently The Farmer’s Dog, which has been working well for him. Rex will need lifelong management, including special feeding routines, possible medications, and regular veterinary checkups to keep him feeling his best. While this condition may shorten his lifespan, Rex doesn’t let it dim his joy—he is a loving, social dog who delights in spending time with people and embracing each day with enthusiasm. Rex is looking for a dedicated adopter who can continue his care and give him the warm, supportive home he deserves. *Bailey chair will be sent home when adopted* - Around 3 years old - Currently just under 70lbs - Good with kids, prefers a slow introduction to dogs and cats. - Adoption fee: $350 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Include information about your family and pets, what you are looking for in a canine companion, how you plan to exercise and train this dog, and why this specific dog seems like a good fit for your family. Those who provide the previous information will be considered first for this canine. Please do NOT call our center. This will help us match you and the animal the best we can. We usually respond via email within 24-48 hours; please check your spam folder if you don't hear from us. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Meet Gem the 3.5yr Shepherd/Husky! Unfortunately, Gem has had a terrible past. She was a victim of horrific animal abuse and has been spending the past several months healing from her injuries and trauma. Months ago, she was picked up unresponsive, starved almost to death (25lbs), anemic and unable to stand or even lift her head. She was rushed to the emergency vet, where she stayed for over a week requiring tube feeding, blood transfusions and other vital care. After months of recovery, she is now almost back to her normal happy, goofy and sweet self. We are currently in a case with her abusive owner, and we hope to see her held accountable for what she did. This has been such a heartbreaking and unimaginable case. We can’t wait for Gem to get her happy ever after! Gem is a happy, energetic and playful girl. She adores meeting new doggy friends and does great with pups of all shapes and sizes. She has had limited interactions with cats, however with proper introductions we think she would do well. At times, she can struggle with meeting new people, but with some treats she becomes everyone’s friend. Due to her past, she is working through a lot of trauma and learning how to be a dog again. She is looking for an experienced and patient family who is willing to continue building her confidence and working on gaining her manners back. Her biggest weakness is food. She must be watched closely to ensure she does not eat anything she is not supposed to. When not being watched, we highly suggest her being crated for her own safety. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence after a dog is starved. She has already made a lot of progress in this area but still needs more time to realize she will not be starved again and that these behaviors are not necessary or acceptable. Additionally, she has been working on her house training again. She has been doing great and has not had an accident in several weeks. We do suggest that she is taken out very frequently, to keep her on the right track. Lastly, Gem can struggle with separation anxiety at times and tends to bark when she can’t be a part of what’s going on. Due to this, we do not feel like she would be a great candidate for apartment living. Gem is up to date on vaccines, spayed, HW- and microchipped. She is crate trained and listens well to basic commands. Despite all of the things she is working on relearning, Gem has a heart of gold! She is such a loyal, resilient and energetic gal. She would love to join an energetic family who can show her the love and understanding she deserves.

Diane has a sponsored adoption fee! Meet Diane, the affectionate and playful pup who's sure to make you laugh! This smart girl is a fast learner and keeps her living space tidy (a rare find!). She loves nothing more than a good car ride, fun sniff walks, and interesting enrichment activities to keep her mind busy. Diane is a real social butterfly and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those that can keep up with her playful roughhousing! She's a true love bug, always ready to give kisses and cuddles, and will be a loyal and funny companion. Diane is best suited for a home with older children, as she loves the calm energy and can give her full attention to her humans. She is a Shepherd mix that is approximately 3 1/2 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly prevention. We are unsure about cats at this time. Could you be the one to offer Diane her forever home and endless love? Fill out our online application for preapproval and set up and meet and greet with this gorgeous fun loving gal! https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html

Story
This is Loki, he is a 3 year old german shepherd. He is a very smart, curious, energetic, confident boy. He loves playing tug of war and fetch. He knows basic commands; sit, down(or lay), stay, turn around, back up. He also knows to lay down and wait for your okay to go and eat when being fed. Overall he is a good boy but needs more space to run around and get out of the apartment scene. I have had Loki for a little while now and due to me moving i have to find him a new home or foster him, or else i will be forced with giving him to the pound, I am willing to discuss the adoption fee.
