Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome guy is Dante. He is a young husky/shepherd mix (born June 2024), and weighs about 50 pounds. Dante is very smart, playful and full of personality - but we are not going to sugar coat it- he’s a handful! He is friendly, has had obedience training, loves to work for treats and knows plenty of commands- but will pick and choose who he will listen to and when he will listen.  A dog like Dante is frustrated in a kennel environment. We cannot meet his mental or physical needs. He needs a home- someone with the skill, time and patience to work with him. We are looking for a special adopter- the one who can see his potential and wants to help a dog in need.  A potential adopter for Dante must be an experienced dog handler, who can establish and maintain leadership from the start. He will challenge his handler- so this is an absolute must! A fully fenced in yard is required. We believe he would do best in a home with one or two adults. He has the potential to live with another dog. (But of course a meet is a must).   Dante has bonded with some of our volunteers, and can be very affectionate. We believe he has the potential to be a great companion- but only in the right hands. Please do not apply for Dante if you do not meet his requirements.  If you are that special someone we are looking for and enjoy working with challenging dogs- please apply on our website at rescueridge.com. Dante needs a chance at a life outside of a kennel! Dante is located in Monmouth County, NJ Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 20, 2026, 10:57 am

Meet Lillie! She was adopted from the shelter when she was much smaller, but then was brought back and 5 months later because she had gotten to big. She is 9 months and is about 45 lbs. She was set to be euthanized and was just to sweet and deserves better. She is typical german shepherd mix size. She is so sweet and very well behaved on the leash. She is great in the car and knows how to sit on command. She is great with other dogs and kids, she has not been tested with cats yet, but can be if you are interested in her. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and dewormed. She is hoping you put in an application soon!

Story
Hannah, German Shepherd, Black and Tan, Female spayed, 3 years old Hannah is a friendly and social girl.  She loves attention, belly rubs, and playing with toys.  She is always excited to see you, but can pull on the leash.  She is a strong girl that would benefit from a family that has breed experience, and would do best with children over the age of 10 years old.  Hannah seems to get along well with other dogs, and didn’t seem to mind cats either.    **This dog is at the Ocean County Animal Facility North located at 615 Fremont Ave, Jackson NJ (off of Hope Chapel Rd).  All dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and have age appropriate shots.** To adopt our dogs you must come to the facility with your entire family, including dogs, to meet with our staff and the dog you are interested in. We are open to the public seven days a week between the hours of 1pm and 4pm.   Please call our facility at 732-657-8086 for more information about any of our pets! February 7, 2026, 6:49 pm

Story
AL is only 10-11 months old German/Dutch shepherd mix puppy who urgently needs a foster home. He has been living in a crate in the shelter for way too long and that is no life. We would like to pull him in our rescue so that he has a home and space to grow into a amazing that he could be. A foster home would provide just that. AL should be learning about the world through positive experiences, guidance, and safety. Instead, he is growing up in a shelter environment that is loud, chaotic, and overwhelming and scary, which is having a profound impact on how he presents. At the shelter he is missing out on the essential socialization, consistent training and reassurance that puppies need to grow into confident adults. AL is smart dog who walks well on the leash and knows basic commands. He is leash trained and housebroken. He is sensitive, and cautious around strangers and appear unsure at first but when approached slowly and respectfully, he allows handling and begins to relax. Once he feels safe, he leans in for affection, enjoys touch, play and clearly wants connection. With patience and positive reinforcement, this is something that can absolutely improve over time. As a shepherd puppy: He is alert, observant, and emotionally responsive He needs exercise, mental stimulation, and structure He is reacting to stress and frustration due to living in a isolated kennel ✨ An experienced foster—preferably a calm, confident woman or someone with Shepherd experience—would make a world of difference for AL. ✨ With kind, positive reinforcement training, routine, and loving structure, he has every reason to grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. AL is a puppy trying to learn the world in the hardest place possible. A foster home would give him the chance he deserves—to feel safe, to learn, and to become the dog he was meant to be. 📩 Please reach out if you can foster/foster to adopt or support AL at Rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com Early intervention saves lives—especially for puppies like him.
