Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Carla is an adorable pup who are looking for a new home. Carla is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but heading to NJ on July 12th. Carla was picked up by a good samaritan after being thrown out of a moving car - horrible! She is healed and healthy but timid with new people. She is very affectionate and loves to be loved. Sweet Carla - she deserves a loving home and family. She is dog friendly. She is working on housebreaking and crate training.  Carla is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Max is a very handsome boy who is in need of a new home. Max is now in a foster home in NJ but needs a new foster. Max was surrendered to the shelter when his elderly owner could no longer care for him. He would be best as the only dog in the home.  Max might do ok living with certain other dogs, an older, lazy companion who would not get in his face but would need a slow introduction since he doesn't like every dog he meets. Max may do best as your one and only but he is not overly reactive in public.  Max is a loving boy who is smart and receptive to training. He loves his foster family and has displayed some protective behaviors, as typical for a German Shepherd. He needs a little manners on how to take treats gently, but we are working on that. Max is not compatible with small dogs, cats or kids. Max is fixed,   microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. He tested negative for heartworm. Max has a surgery previously to re-route his bladder. He is fully recovered and doing well. This condition is not anticipated to cause further health concerns. His adoption fee will be $450. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Rudy is now in NJ. Rudy came from the Wolf Pond Sanctuary in rural Mississippi. Wolf Pond Sanctuary is closing and all of the remaining dogs need a place to go asap.  Rudy was been at the Sanctuary for his whole life in an outdoor kennel with a concrete floor. He has never known the inside of a house, the warmth of a fireplace, the comfort of his persons bed until now.  Rudy will need a gentle, patient person willing to put some time and effort in to teaching him the joys of being a pampered pet. He will need to learn housebreaking but crate training will be a breeze. He will need to learn to trust humans as Rudy is a shy, timid boy who was never properly socialized. Rudy is a flight risk based on his nature and lack of socialization and will require special precautions (martingale collar, leash to collar and harness, caution around doors and when exiting vehicles).   Rudy is dog friendly. He used to live with Tinsel who is in our care here in NJ. Rudy did well on his cat test. Based on his timid nature, he will likely do well with and find comfort in other animals. No small kids for Rudy and a quiet home would be best. Rudy is fixed and up to date on vaccines & microchipped.   Rudy tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $300.    How to Adopt Me! Meet Lillie! She was adopted from the shelter when she was much smaller, but then was brought back and 5 months later because she had gotten to big. She is 9 months and is about 45 lbs. She was set to be euthanized and was just to sweet and deserves better. She is typical german shepherd mix size. She is so sweet and very well behaved on the leash. She is great in the car and knows how to sit on command. She is great with other dogs and kids, she has not been tested with cats yet, but can be if you are interested in her. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and dewormed. She is hoping you put in an application soon!
