Story
Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50!
Meet Callista!
Callista is a 4 year old, 70 pound German Shepard who loves long walks, treats and spending time with her people.
Callista's biggest super power is being a fast learner (she loves to please and seems eager to learn her commands). she's great in the elevator and know to stand behind me at all times, and she's getting better at walking along side me without pulling but she is still unsure about walking in the city and loud noises, but loves going on walks and playing in the grass.
In terms of house training, Cali learned how to go outside in just a few weeks!, She loves to please and she loves to be rewarded for a good job, making house training and acclimating to her new home a breeze with positive reinforcement.
Some of her favorite things are Farmers Dog, Stewart's beef liver treats, chicken, and making us laugh.
If you're looking for the sweetest angel who is looking for love and patients, she will make a great companion to anyone who has a big, fenced in yard.
Callista is currently being fostered in Union City, NJ. Her adoption fee is $600.
Callista is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
